And yes when she suggested that to Zhuang, she was so confident as though she had heard it from the FL. But Zhuang Xu never tried to analyze the situation between the FL and him and what he did wrong. He only ever listened to other people. That was his biggest fault

Zhuan Xu and Lin Yu Sen were polar opposites. The ML had everything that ZX did not have . The story was told in the FL’s POV and they had to show why the FL would choose the ML over ZX with whom she really was deep in love. So ZX’s character really moved the story between the leads. Yes and also the growth of the FL. The ML’s character was very warm, soothing and calming. He never showed any dramatic emotions but you could feel his angst and yearning for the FL . I think SWL brought that out beautifully. And even in that portrayal there was an intensity . And I agree that they did not make characters overly dramatic but still conveyed what they had to.

I would not call them red flags . They are rather the products of the circumstances they grew up in. You can’t expect people growing up like that to turn out well adjusted

She was hurt very badly by the second ML and it does take time to get over that kind of thing. She did not want to be hasty again. That is why she was guarded even though she knew she liked the ML. On the other hand, the ML had made up his mind and he was only waiting for her . The whole accident thing did not matter to him once he had decided that she is the one . But yes he was thoroughly shocked by her reaction after that skiing incident. He did not expect her to be so upset and care so much, given the history of his accident when she did not even bother to show up. It was like he was looking at 2 different people . And her tirade at the hospital was very valid- she started questioning her importance to him. Finally I don’t think she still crushed on the SML after she started liking the ML but all the bitter, hurtful incidents kept coming to the surface whenever she saw him. This really is the most realistic depiction of a relationship in fiction that I have seen. The most beautiful thing is that they were so honest with each other and gave time to accept each other
This show cares more about creating a nice feeling and pretty atmosphere than showing a full step-by-step love…
I don’t agree with you on this. I think the first turning point in their relationship was very clear and then it gradually grew closer. I think these moments are more emotional and the shifts cannot be crystal clear. There was a very realistic progression in the leads’ relationship. We knew exactly whEN the FL started gravitating towards the ML . And given the 2nd ML’s character - everything he did and said agreed with the insecure, indecisive coward he was . And that actor has also played his role well
The rewatch value of this drama is so high! Just did another rewatch since there is nothing else that piqued my interest. And yes this drama is a masterpiece! And there will be future rewatches. I find this true for both You are my glory and this one of Gu Man’s novels. The lead characters in these two dramas are etched out so beautifully! Love it !
