He has realized she is poisoned but I think due to how it affects those who gain spiritual veins and those who already have them differently I don’t think he realizes how bad of shape is in. While he initially recognizes her symptoms matching his own, I don’t think he knows necessarily about the petals part and how losing them is a death sentence.

I think it’s because he doesn’t realize how badly she is poisoned and that she is literally on borrowed time thanks to 27’s sacrifice and Si Tu Longs intervention. Also someone else was explaining that when someone gains spiritual veins they just gain the root, where as someone who already has spiritual veins the roots become the stem that develops the petals. So he might not even realize that no petals for her means literal death.

Yes, this is a trope in these type of dramas and is very common, but I also find it funny how frustrated people get and it’s like it is frustrating but it’s also rampant in these types of dramas so better get used to it cause it’s not going away anytime soon,. I haven't even watched it once but the comments are so tempting for episode 25 tell me he gets to know the truth!!!!!
An episode 25 he starts to connect the dots. He does actually admit to himself that that it is Ming Yi who is poisoned not Ming Xian. While he continues through his thought process of connecting the dots though it ends with him thinking Could she be…. And then switches over to another scene. He does acknowledge later that because she’s a habitual liar obviously that she’s not gonna tell the truth easily lol. He then sets out for the rest of the episode to needle her and make her as uncomfortable as possible to try and get us response out of her so she’ll admit the truth. It’s pretty funny.
The thing is if you think about it, I think he’s confusing gratitude with love. I get that Ming Xian was the reason that he wanted to be stronger and that gave him hope. I feel though that he wasn’t really that obsessed and didn’t really care about the female lead much until he saw her draw her bow and then he realized that she was the god of war, I think that it was at that point he started to build a relationship with her in his mind and make himself out to be more important to her and the relationship, then was actually true. This is what stalkers do lol
