Guys my English not good , but I think I finally solved the mystery of ML's reflection in FL's eyes and why they…
It's a bit of a stretch to asume butler would know his descendent after 100 years would be his love. How would he even know it would be a girl that generation.
Yeah I think this kind of thing happens a lot. If you have criticisms about some show that people are totally…
Yeah, it's very 1 or 10 here.
Saying show is 6 or 7 with flaws but still enjoyable is not an option here it seems.
Like I enjoyed many mediocre stuff I know it's objectively not that good and I don't give it a 10 just because I enjoyed it.
I learned that MDL overall score is useless and overrated shows set my expectations higher and I end up being disapointed compared to if I went into this expecting average lighthearted copy pasta.
This review describes my experience with cdrama perfectly.
I start watching very highly rated and praised show, find out it's mid, falls apart in 2nd half completly, scratching my head if I am the only sane person, I try to objectively point out some flaws respectfully, get attacked with essays from fan girls who completely ignore my points, end up regretting posting and engaging with community.
yeah, i feel u!! i usually love her acting, but there's something a bit off in this show. i'm guessing it's supposed…
Well I didn't say she was wise I just asume dynamic is sorta like she is his guardian because of the past so it doesn't feel equal atm. Hopefully in next few episodes it gets addressed and their relationship evolves. Prob also has to do with her fear of losing him again.

Well she is much older when you combine all the lives and she originally spent most time with ml when they were kids and mostly acted as his guardian on request of his mom.
I was one of the viewers who thought the early episodes were slow, but I hung in and glad I did. Regarding the…
While review bombing can be unfair it's very effective because it can hurt their revenue. This is the only thing that makes them budge and change their ways. If profits didn't suffer they would ignore it.
While this is hurting show revenue it's not really true for the production team, actors ,etc. They already got paid.
Producer and everyone in chain gave OK for product to be shot and edited in a way we got it. It's their responsibility and consequences may come.
I am so confused about you saying that drama being directed by women is why its soft and comforting. It has nothing…
Yes I just wanted to say that things you pointed out are not the way they are because of director sex but because that's how they translated script into visual media. What they do is mostly technical and creative visual stuff and directing actors according to script. But it's very flex on the amount of responsibility depending on production if it's indie movie, spot, series, feature film, etc.
As someone who works in the industry mostly as DOP and sometimes director I would like to let you know that unless director is very famous or also wrote the script they don't influence the story or any of these aspects much. Reasons you point out you like in this series is that way because it was written so in the scripts and producer approved it. In this case creator and scriptwritters are all also female.
So the reason why it's not filled with damsels in distress, stupid fl leads, ml depending on fl is not because of director choice. Directors in kdramas don't adapt and write scripts in most cases.
Directors also do director cuts with editor but usually producers make their own cuts after to maximise profits etc. That is why we sometimes have movies with director cut because in cinema we get studio version. In kdramas directors usually have less then usual power and are basically there to just get the job done without much input being allowed. Producers have all the power and make all the key decisions and they decide how much power they delegate to director. In this case producer was a male and he chose female director to do the job and chose to be ok with aspects of original content or scripts be potrayed the way you see it.
Your idea of director is probably romanticised version of famous hollywood director who also helped in writting the script or pitched movie themself and are treating it as passion project.
I don't wanna downplay influence directors have their hands in all aspects of the final result but their influence is limited based on project, enviroment, producer. They make sure vision is realised and they make many decisions in collaboration with many people behind and on screen, it's just that reasons you pointed out are not because of director input.
I say this just so you won't have the wrong idea about the way things are done and not as a attack on what you said ๐
True, you are speaking facts but this drama is mid, overrated and had many other issues before this, so incensitive…
As I always say you can love something but still be critical of it and see for what it is. You seem like either very dismissive person or/and have selective reading based on your reply.
It's good because it's 12 ep and doesn't add boring bloat. It makes for better consistend and tight experience.
Well that happen when they make middle episodes filler and load all events and resolve in finale. Considering last episode had a lot of development I doubt that will happen.
As a fellow Muslim this whole discussion is getting ridiculous. Never saw Arabs protecting south or east asian…
True, you are speaking facts but this drama is mid, overrated and had many other issues before this, so incensitive representation of a prince that doesn't really represent common people is not why this show is meh but it's another nail in the coffin. Now all other valid criticism will be dismissed.
It has few good scenes on it's own but as a whole it's a mess and makes no sense.
You can watch it speed up / skip a lot.

Btw I didn't watch this thanks to your review.

It's completely fine for what it is but high rating gave many people high expectations for such average show.
It's just average kdrama and seem very outdated compared to many new well produced shows in past few years.
