I get why people liked this, it has a very kdrama-ey plot that works (and could be a bit nostalgic), but the healing aspect of it was so dissapointing. Chae JongHyeop is made for this role tho, his smile is everything.

Also, dissapointed by the second lead couple cause I was genuinely shipping them so hard only for them to have such a flat boring ending.

I'm mad at that one edit I saw of them and I binged the first half only for it to end like that. It was a happy ending I know but I hated the writing in the end, had a lot more potential all in all.

Also. because I saw the recommendations, how does this drama have the same rating as Just Between Lovers??

Honestly I much prefer stories like these where the female lead doesn't have a monologue that women are strong and can do everything, but instead show women's everyday lifes and how the system/patriarchy is contributing and perpetuating their struggles. Both are good but the former just feels a bit performative and oftentimes is just a plot device to show how 'cool' the fl is which ultimately loses the meaning behind the message.

I searched a bit and I found the naver page of this movie it's in korean but you can translate it and it's on some online streaming platforms but you need a subscription and also I think they're only available in korea which isn't really a problem if you have vpn. So I think we just have to wait for someone to upload it illegally somewhere.

The first ep of legend of the female general was kinda meh but I kept watching and it got better and the leads are kinda cute. I dont really watch that many cdramas so I cant copare but I read a comment that summarized the original plot of the novel and they seriously butchered it, could have been sooo much better but eh now we need to just turn our brains off while watching it.

The cinematography was actually really nice and the shaman stuff were also very intresting. Wanted more of yeomhwa too tbh I loved the scenes where she was weeping, made you feel kinda bad for her. The last two eps had such a different vibe, really made me think I was watching a different drama.
