He is an asshole in his other roles? like which one?
HAHAHHA ya he called her “chubs”. But that was more of a childhood name so it’s not necessarily offensive
And he did eventually stop

Also ya, the first 4eps was really boring, after that it gets sooooo goood

I LOVE JUNG YU MI TOOO! She is so.... elegant. I loved her in Train to Busan and Kim Ji Young:Born 1982. School Nurse Files just made me a solid fan.

Ah i think Jordan Peele’s movies (Get Out) captures the school nurse files’ vibe the most. Like satirical, political, bold. Except SNF is wayyyy less scary.

Ya weightlifting Fairy was his breakout role He was really cute and wholesome there. but tbh I don’t think you would enjoy the show as much. Not bcs the character is bad or the writing is bad, but bcs it is more like youth romance (but done well, not cringe at all).
I still think you would like The Light in Your Eyes more, it was ‘the’ show that made NJH a household actor name. Before that he was more like pretty face with no acting skills.

I’m currently watching One Spring Night! I love it so so so much. Really awesome character depth here. And I now get what you mean by “micro-expressions” bcs the actors here really got the skills for it man!

I heard it was Lee Min Ho fans. You will notice LMH fan's have been rating everything lower than TKEM. That's…
ROY wasn’t spectacular and overall fell really flat towards the end, and this was defo not PBG’s best role.
But I really liked their take on relationship. It had a pretty healthy dynamic and the ending was really interesting

(And no it was nothing like start-up)

I really don’t understand the low rating, for me it was a strong 9 and I’m really hard to please when it comes…
Omg I really agree with your opinion. Finally some positive reviews about start-up. It’s true that start-up has some really evident flaws but I think overall, it’s still pretty coherent and unforgettable.
It has a low rating because of the divisive nature of the love triangle , NOT because it’s bland and boring.

I don't like DS's character regression, I expected him to find his dream apart from DM (the one he was about to…
Finally someone criticising DS’ character with objectivity and grace ahahhaahah. It’s kinda sad how everyone scrutinises every single thing he does and saying that HJP’s character was ruined
But tbh I find that it was NDS’ character that was ruined. He became the complete opposite of what we were introduced to in the earlier episodes. Still don’t think he deserves the amount of hate though. Bcs as a whole, his character was pretty unique and cute. But ya I agree, his regression is saddening and disappointing

Yep, School 2015 and bride of haebak are his worst roles. But tbh all his other roles are amazing.
SchoolNurse Files’ rating is low bcs it’s super weird, most people don’t appreciate that kind of art but if you like Stranger Things/Jordan Peele/Wes Anderson you will LOVE IT. Also, Jang Yu Mi was so cute in that show

He wasn’t an asshole in WFKBJ tho! He was more like a playful college dude. He was super wholesome !

wait, Do San went and did something incredibly cool in 7. just what happened in 8+ to make everyone hate him lol.…
I guess ppl more or less had some sense of distrust towards NDS since the beginning bcs they were first introduced to HJP and they got attached to his character.

I was in the minority of not being “that” attached to HJP (bcs it just felt like a typical kdrama sad backstory to me) and related to NDS more.

So when the writers eventually does butcher his character a little (make him more 2-dimensional) the distrust just flared up to pure hatred towards his character. Whereas for me it was more of like a disappointment , since NDS was such a unique character that could be used for a better message

I think JP felt something special about her, maybe someone familiar of the past, so he followed her from distance.…
I saw that as DS being remorse though. By taking care of her from a distance and by waiting for her in the morning, i saw that as NDS trying to show SDM that he meant everything they shared tgt and it was not a lie. It 's defo still not a very commendable act, but it makes perfect sense to me if this were to happen irl (like after a fight with my bf i would say i need space but if he really disappeared for a long time i would be really sad too, i would want him to come back and talk through things).

And yeah, i agree, NDS should've showed more struggling- bcs the only time we got to see that was the crying in the bus stop. I think his remorse there was really genuine though, but yeah it was not enough.

anyways, HJP was also flawed in confessing to her even though SDM was pretty adamant in wanting to eat alone. NDS may be wrong in eavesdropping and stalking from a distance, but HJP crosses the line in confessing his feelings in the worst time possible. He could've at least waited for after Demo Day you know lol

don't mean to start a war .... but HJP also stalked SDM lol in ep1.
what's worse is that they weren't even friends that time. He was basically stalking a stranger. And he stalked her all the way to the corn dog shop... er... okay.. haha
At least when NDS stalked SDM, they were actually friends already and he did it out of a concern for her safety. (bcs she looked really depressed and unstable i guess)

ok pls don't hate on me, just wanna know how you guys would interpret that scene in ep1 (or 2, i don't rmbr)

Yeah KDramas does lack in that professionalism aspect. But you have to keep in mind that the Korean Entertainment Industry is still relatively very young compared to Hollywood- you can only hope that they keep improving over the next few years haha. Having achieved such a feat within such few years is already quite impressive.
I do think that another strength that Kdramas have is their ability to cause people to feel invested. Like as much as I LOVED western shows such as the Office or Stranger Things, I never felt as personally invested as Kdramas. There's this humane quality in Kdramas that really just unites people together, that makes conversations really fun :)

what other western shows do you like? am curious haha

The name 'School 2015 part 2' is more suitable for this drama than the name start up...in school also, njh won…
He has chosen really bad roles but he has also chosen really surprisingly good ones that subvert the mainstream expectation of him. Sad that his bad roles are the one getting buzz TT
The School Nurse Files was such an intresting show and he really fits that kind of role, he acts as a teacher there LOL
