I was also thinking if they are giving us hints about that or are going to be giving more screen time to the dolts…
I think you're right, but I don't remember anything definite about her dad, other than he was sick. Just wondering if he'll make a sudden appearance for drama's sake (wouldn't put it past them).
I was also thinking if they are giving us hints about that or are going to be giving more screen time to the dolts…
I should clarify that....I *presume* her father passed away too, as her only mention of him (back when they were at the amusement park) was that he had been hospitalized for an extended period when she was young. There was no further mention of him since, and she was definitely her Mother's Daughter.
Hyunjae and Mirae are climbing back to the spot they were before - my fav couple, tho Dolt and Childish Lawyer…
Agreed. Mirae and her mom are too close and she can't see her mom's faults.
I'm trying to figure out why they are now adding in the Mirae's mom's SIL character? (who looks awfully familiar). More added drama in that family? UGH.
I was also thinking if they are giving us hints about that or are going to be giving more screen time to the dolts…
I need to ask: In contemporary Korean culture, would YJ propose to her, with ring, etc as is done in the west, and they be engaged? Or is it more of a go-to-the-parents/family-first type arrangement? In HJun's situation, her parents are deceased, so who would he have to ask? In my mind, I see a scene where YJ would hire MiRae to help him in getting an engagement ring, and trying to keep that quiet from HJun. I think a scene with him proposing to HJun could go hysterically wrong, but be sweet too.
Ugh I agree about the stylist for the parents! Even MiRae's grandma looks better than them. And those storylines…
If I recall, the ages of the brothers are 39 (YJ), 37 (HJ), and 27 (SJ). That 10-year gap is pretty significant, having been thru that with family myself. It's natural that he's not as close.
Just watched Ep 21-22: Wow. Has anyone else noticed that the last 3 weekends, the Sunday night cliffhanger is focused on YJ/HJ? The Kiss; The Hug; And now the flop? I wonder if writers are sending us a message about who the 'main couple' is? Probably just that right now, the Dolts are more fun to write for.
These 2 eps had so many great moments, and there is a video on KBS YouTube channel showing the behind-the-scenes of the purse-wacking scene. That whole scene was done so well, and I felt so sorry for MiRae, she's kind of the odd man out right now and she's so sensitive and empathic. She and HJae need to meet to work things out back to normal.
My favorite scene was again based on the subtle little actions of the actors (OMS, in this case). In their drive back from the restaurant, when HJae told him about her will, and said that "when you live alone you think these things (sudden death, etc)." His expression was golden...the subtle disappointment and empathy for her, he clearly doesn't like hearing about her being alone and it pains him. This was the same expression as at the amusement park, when she said the worst part of being successful was having no family to share it with. I wonder if we are being given scenes that will be flashbacks for him later on, when he needs to make a decision (proposal maybe?)
And the ending scene........sigh. You KNEW they were going to do it to us, right? I did LOL when he first picked her up, SDM was trying so hard not to laugh (puts her hand over her mouth). The previews for next week have me on pins & needles again!
In case no one saw it below, the OST song played at the end of Ep 18, and in several other significant scenes was finally uploaded to youtube, track 6, "this love" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsJtqUj-hhM
I'm actually smiling while reading your comment. ^^ More than the plot twist YJ knowing about what HJ did all…
This was back in Ep 6. At about an hour in, you can see him back in his office after meeting w. Ms.Sun (he's in his street clothes) and deciding to call HJ.
I also thought they¿d at least talk some but I loved that he went with her car home and picked her up the next…
Thank you writers, for Episode 20. It was just as perfect as ep 18. Everything was just right. HJ's sobbing with MiRae, her shoving poor Ms Sun (again) out of the Dental office, MiRae's using HyunJae for his troubleshooter mode, and finally the bridge scene. That scene was so perfect, the hug was so sweet, his smirk when he said he was "a catch", and what was especially great was they cut right to her apartment after, without some other filler in-between. Oh Min Suk and Shin Dong Mi have such great chemistry together, it almost feels electric. I just hope they don't keep the HyunJae-interrupting-them as a theme, twice is enough please.
Is anyone else surprised that HyunJae didn't start to figure it out when MiRae spoke of Ms. Sim's problems, etc. I expected him to say, "wait a minute I already told her to come clean", and then realize that was about his brother, while MiRae was talking about her boyfriend. All MiRae had to do is mention that she calls him Mr. Dolt, and HyunJae would have finally put it together.....I wonder how long they will keep it going?
mirae's mom is incredibly uncomfortable being reminded of her past as an adopted child. hearing about how her…
I would like to see her father get a backbone and take on a stronger role, instead of cowering to his mom and wife. Right now, he's barely more than scenery....he's supposed to be a CEO?
Ep 19.. the start was a disappointment for me. OK, I get that she needed some space after the kiss and that it threw her completely. But you mean to tell me that she wouldn't have called MiRae to tell her about it? The elevator scene (what is it with elevators with this show that are so funny?) was great, poor Ms. Sun! And the "oopa" scene with the elevator was cute. I too was hoping he'd pull her in for a kiss, but he was smart as she's too skittish right now. Going to watch Ep. 20 before dinner, it looks like the Episode I've been waiting for.
I'm actually smiling while reading your comment. ^^ More than the plot twist YJ knowing about what HJ did all…
It's killing me that I havent seen the whole ep, but in this scene he says he asked her out to dinner because he "had a bone to pick with her". Would that have been the dinner where he got too drunk?
In the JaeHae Couple scene at the bridge (Episode 20), has anyone else noticed how the background music changed…
I'm hoping to watch the whole episode tonight...But I saw that scene....I loved it so much. But what do you think of starting off with the piano solo background music (that was used in the wedding shop scene with YuNa & Kyung Ae) instead? Somber and foreboding as she walked across the bridge to confess? I thought the scene could use some more seriousness as it was a big moment in their relationship.
Ending Scene Reaction & Analysishttps://youtu.be/lPjxYX3lkw4 So this scene starts with Yoon Jae (YJ) and Hae Jun…
I admit I'm guilty of watching the YouTube clip Shine Son posted above, even though it's un-subbed. I'm stunned by how GREAT the acting was in this scene, with the little subtle details. Here's my 3 favorite: YJ's face when HJ walks out....You can see him transition from: confusion -> fear -> action. All in about 3 seconds. Then, in the parking lot, after she says 'casual dating at 42, how pathetic', and turns away, he first starts walking after her, then look at his facial expression when he decided to pass her, to beat her to the car door. Finally, at the car door, after YJ says "Not see you again...", watch HJs facial expressions and her inability to make eye contact with him. BRAVO.
I am hoping that this scene should be repeated as the opening scene of Ep 19, and we get to see the full scene without being cutaway for credits, with full background music, which used a unique, more uptempo beat to the "Love Can You Feel Me..." song. At first I didn't like it, but it's grown on me. CAN'T WAIT TIL SATURDAY!!!!!
I too was very conflicted about this. Purely by luck, it worked out for her. She needs a mother-figure in Soo-jae's…
(this is just my thinking), the 'scam' was the fake wedding to get the apartment first. The "fake" wedding is dead, YuNa will not risk Kyung Ae's relationship with her. They alluded to this when Soojae talked to his mom and complained about not being first in the race, and she told him to back off. Falling in love with YuNa was never in his plans, but it's happened to his angst.
I'm very disappointed that Yu-na didn't end up coming clean to Soo-jae's mom. What's the point of her having a…
I too was very conflicted about this. Purely by luck, it worked out for her. She needs a mother-figure in Soo-jae's mom, who "loves and believes in me" and didn't want to end that relationship. But she had to get out of the scam as her guilt overwhelmed her, after that furniture trip. In the end, it worked out for her, and she's essentially ended Soo-jae's scam, which he is now aware of. They can now proceed with their relationship at a normal pace, with her future MIL's blessing.
