Oh my God ! HY - that is total abuse of power today!!
It's odd, that although despicable, this seems tame compared to what we've seen in other dailies. After the actions of HaeMi in TLIYE towards her subordinate (and cousin-in-law), the FL, including physical abuse that would have gotten her fired on the spot, I've become numb to this, almost.

If you don't like HY's actions, do NOT watch TLIYE.

I know we still have a lot of episode left, but I feel like, once again, we're going in circles...this time with…
I feel for the writers of these 120 ep dramas. I know they have to create a "slow-burn" for the leads to have a meaningful relationship, and we STILL have 80 eps left, so at what point do they start to bring them together, and how do they progress their feelings for each other? Then, of course, they need to add in their parents and the ultimate conflict that was the whole point of the series. This is why it's so important to have a well-laid out plan for these shows and why AOME failed so badly.

I'll take a wild-guess (I should know better) and say we wont see them start to have feelings for each other and express such until about Ep 60. 60-90 will focus on their growth as a couple (with similar pacing with the other 2 couples) and 90-120 being the conflict between parents.

Just a guess.....Lunkera would surely have a better grasp than I.

yes, EH & HY.

I'm with Sher, I need to re-watch 36. It sounds like she's really supersitioius, going by their conversation. Even her husband thought it was silly that she did so.

I think they will make a nice couple, once she gets her head on straight. A career woman would make a nice match for his personality.

Agreed, please don't judge other dailies by that mess. But they ARE a different animal from the usual weekenders or 16-20 episode series. It becomes more of a personality study of the characters, and that's why having experienced writers is so important. Keeping the audience involved for 6 months is NOT easy.

It's funny at this point, that the male leads are overthinking everything with the women that intrigue them: SW can't think straight about ES; EH is being a detective and over-analyzing everything about HY and her possible boyfriend; at least MinGuk has stopped and calmed the waters between him and EA....could we have 3 couples in this series vying for air-time?

I can understand the fryer changing her name to match the one on the tickets, makes sense. JA changing her name....that kinda lost me. Did she legally change her name, or is it just an alias she uses casually?

Properly planned out, a 120 episode series can be really enjoyable and keep your interest. Bravo, My Life was like that, as they methodically addressed each of the arcs in the story systematically, until the happy ending. The series after it, 'The Love in Your Eyes' came close, but not quite, and it fell apart at the end. AOME was a disaster however, with no discipline on the writers part and a production team that was out to lunch as far as oversight goes.

I THINK they are on the right course here, so far, as they tackle each of the question marks in the backstory...until we get to the real story: the conflict between the family members once they realize what is going on with ES/SW and the detective and his older sister's parentage and reconciliation with their birth mother. For my money, THAT might actually eclipse, dramatically speaking, the infighting of the parents over ES/SW. I can see a lot of compelling scenes when the kids find out their true lineage.

I'm feeling much more positive than I was a couple of weeks ago because I do see signs that they've actually plotted out the storyline for the characters.

That ending scene was pretty good.
It was really the best scene she's been given to-date and she just chewed it up. Go, Nam Sang-Ji!!!

34 was the BEST episode BY FAR. BRAVO to the writers and actors, this one started out strong with the confrontation between HY and SW and ended with one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a K-Drama: where ES talks to her (slightly) younger self, stuck doing menial jobs in the past at the theater. Both she and SW were terrific and that scene was lit and shot beautifully. BRAVO!

I have a feeling that she & ES won't be that bad of a relationship? since she confessed her feelings already, I'm hopeful that part of the storyline can progress quickly. I really want to see her together with EH, I think they make a nice couple, with the added amusement of ES as her potential SIL.
The theater witch....that is another story. I'm sure that will go on all series until she gets her just desserts.

I think the writer, just don't want to go in details. And he also don't want us to go in the details. I don't…
I have accepted that this is just a 'different' kind of show. Not quite a family drama (thank God), kind of a comedy, kind of a romance. It's "off-beat". My reaction would always be to try to figure it out, but here, like you said, just accept it and roll along with the laughs. I just hope it can be compelling enough to hold us for all 120 eps.

I just started this so I'm behind, I was so hoping for 50 episodes... nope 120... I should have known better...…
The good news is that we're in the 30s now, and things are moving along nicely. With the prior series, we had to wait until episodes in the 70s!

I'm probably a little slow on the uptake here, bear with me:

A couple of weeks ago, in a thread I can't find, I asked Sher "Wouldn't the detective at some point have looked at his own family register and noticed that the fryer is his ADOPTED mom?" Out of professional curiosity, if nothing else?

It occurred to me, that the fryer couldn't have just adopted them after marrying Dong Gu - Jung Ae was still their mom. And we know there would have been NO WAY that JungAe would have relinquished her parental rights so that the fryer could adopt them.

Which leads me to believe one of two things: the family register still shows them as JA's kids and somehow no-one noticed (while DG/Fryer kept it hidden from the kids). Orrrrrr.....

While JA was in a coma after the 'accident', her sister forged her signature (or impersonated her) and relinquished her maternal rights to get the kids released to DG/Fryer. For whatever reason. THIS explains the guilt and dread she feels about her sister finding her kids - because this will eventually lead back to her misdeed to get rid of the kids.

Frankly, I don't know if any of the above is even possible, much less likely. But take it with a huge grain of salt.

I have to stop eating dinner while watching this show. I nearly choked from eating while laughing when the detective and dancing grandpa came out of the boutique to the sound of "Love Potion #9" LOL!!!!

I was kind of hoping she'd warm up to the detective brother. I think he's a better looking guy than the director she's so obsessed with.

They are an odd pairing. He, I can understand, we've seen the clueless-guy, bad-at-interacting-with-women before, and I know guys like that. That he got dumped with a kid is similar to the younger brother in TRHC.

She is a hard read for me to understand: She's attractive, still young, and something of a 'celebrity', as far as being on TV and recognizable. She has no social life? Is her temper so bad that it's off-putting to possible suitors?
Or does she have issues deep-down if she does realize that she had a mother before, who was never mentioned?
Or I guess it's simply the fryer's attitude rubbing off on her?

She seems something of a work-aholic and obsessed with her job and perceived slights too. There's a lot going on with her......
