We all see these dramas thru our own prisms based on our biases and life experiences. It fascinates me how we all can see these shows so differently - this was a huge factor in the Its Beautiful Now show forum here, where we had very different reactions to each episode and discussions got kind of heated.

These forums excel at giving us a place to decompress after seeing something that causes us to react to something that either makes us happy/angry/sad, etc. and share our outrage/happiness/grief.

It never fails to amaze me how people can see something and interpret it in so many different ways.

I really liked this episode, excellent pacing and movement.

I'm really kind of mad at JinJu. She convinced him move into that place so he could send her more money for her life in Canada. Another one of HD's daughters that uses men for their own betterment.

Who's house was she in? I thought she was in the Dong's living room, and for some reason she was looking at a sonogram?

Random Observations, Ep 113
Well they sure aren't letting the 'grass' grow under their feet (sorry, I couldn't resist).

And so much for 'secrets' now. Good for JP in knowing that certain things cannot be kept quiet. He's more thoughtful and mature than KS at this point. I won't bother to go into any further on KS, his paralyzed stance in the Chairman's stairwell after MR told him to go away was enough for me.
The 'good news' is that they are keeping him true to his character.
The 'bad news' is that they are keeping him true to his character.

The actress playing SunJu is really good. You could see the gears spinning in her head as she tries to come up with lies and more lies to keep her scheme going.

I can't wait for SooJi to see a box of HDF food back at home and realize who that woman was. She was in full detective-mode today.

Let's see if KS is capable of figuring out SunJu's lies tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm positive we could have easily re-written this to get it back to its original premise. My curiosity is could what we have in terms of already screened footage be edited to make the story better, without having to re-shoot scenes? I should know better, but hope springs eternal.

So I was thinking......and this was triggered by the many posts we've gotten lately about new viewers asking if this was worth watching...

Depending on how they finish the series (who gets the happy-ending), I thought that a GOOD editor (not even a great one, just a good one) could re-work the footage and give us a fine, maybe 35-episode series. Wouldn't necessarily win any awards for Best Family Drama, but would be a fun watch (like it was in the beginning). Off the top of my head, he could:
-reduce the InOk craziness to 2 eps max, maybe 1 ?
-Have YD leave for only 1-2 eps (we do need her to be gone though, those scenes of them apart tells a lot about their story, plus we need the reunion scene in his apartment). I think we still need the timeskips to make the story sensible.
-Minimize the Hee storyline, if it really goes nowhere w/SoonJu. This would hold true for all the secondary couples. Since none of their arcs were ever developed, maybe just cut them all out, and make the story solely about YD/TK/SJ/KJH
-Minimize the KJH story to essentially write him out (never comes back from US?) and reduce the angst
Among other things...

But then I thought it might not work, because YD changed so much as a character that it would be too jarring in dealing with her sudden new "personality".

Ami I asking too much? Is such a thing possible without having to re-shoot scenes?

Oh well, random thoughts on a Tuesday.

In a series full of eye-rolling moments, the fact that he did NOT say I'm moving out when HD was brow-beating him about SunJu was one of the worst. He CANNOT live in that house anymore. I don't care about cultural differences, this is plain common-sense. When he got up and went to his room, I wanted to throw a shoe at the Monitor.

Let's face it: This daughter is more expendable.

OK, use the Pages app to compose, then select text and copy and then paste to the MDL app.
I use that method of longer text messages I need to send.

Oh, BTW. I was for sure HR was gonna pull MR aside and tell her about JD after the restaurant scene. I sense the tension building up in her to keep it secret.

Please use MS Word, Sher. Or even Notepad (if on a Win PC). I've been getting phantom error messages when I post, and am seeing delayed typing too.

I'm trying to figure that too. I still think she'll head back to the US, but she liquidated all the real estate holdings she inherited. Why, if she was heading back there? That is what throws me.

MDL is getting really weird, especially this last couple of days.

It looks like SS is on his way to work in the morning, as he said he'll file it today. So, it's before KS heads to the chairman's which seems to happen sometime after 9am (when MR heads for the Academy).

We continue to race headlong to the finale....

(We all know where this is going to end up, despite how they are framing the current episodes, but I'll just ignore that and focus on what they present us, as it happens.)

Here in 112, KS continues to do his best impression of the biggest dope on the planet. How ON EARTH he would stay at that restaurant and dine with The Witch and mini-witch is beyond me. He just sits there, instead of dragging JD out and scolding her for lying to him, then leaving her with her beloved "mom". And of course, since there are only a few restaurants in Downtown Seoul, MR and HR encounter them. I was actually glad for MR to see this. It was almost the peach-peeling scene all over again. She needs to see the real KS, not the idealized one she occasionally sees at the Academy or with her Grandfather.

And this time, the YJ/JH encounter did not seem comfortable. They're pressing it, I think.

The best line of this show was YJ telling SJ she was like an evil female character in a drama.

Fittingly, MR calls it quits with KS. At this point, there is no reason continuing with their relationship unless he gets a divorce and is free and clear. Otherwise, there will always be doubts - not about his fidelity, per se, but his commitment to her vs. his lack of backbone in dealing with SJ, who knows how to manipulate him. And she is correct to second-guess JD's feelings towards her vs. SJ. But, naturally KS can't fathom that he needs to send JD to her mom for good (like she'd have her - again, we know where this all is going, wink-wink).

So JD, prepare for surgery, you'll love sedation and the pain from the bone-marrow extraction afterwards. All for the half-sister you know nothing about and the Mom who will leave you in a flash once her other kid is healed.

I'm 7 mins in, and I can't believe what I'm seeing.

Agreed. Going to watch 112 now.

I think we just have to accept that this show has more plot-holes than Swiss Cheese. I no longer believe the resolutions were left on the cutting room floor, because that floor would be hip-deep in cuttings by now. It's just what they figure they have been able to get away with all-along, so why stop now?

Yeah, despite how she treats her Dad, I find her behavior around MR to be the most reprehensible. This is a woman she admitted feeling like a Mom to her. And she just stabs her in the back, over and over, despite how much she may think it's wrong.

I'm biased, because I haven't liked the character from the start.
