Well, another head-hanging performance by KS. Thank goodness for his Dad, who is speaking for us in his attempt to question this witch.
And JanDi is now back to the same crappy kid who demanded her Dad wait for her mom to come back and not look at other women all those years up to the funeral. Now she wants him to ruin his life again for her selfish desires, all while forgetting everything that MR did for her. Yes, she's being brainwashed by her mom, but she CANT forget MR's role in her life while her mom was on the lam. Do they make a teenager-sized WTOD?
And yup, it looks like the writers are conveniently forgetting medical science and SJ is indeed the one that's sick (despite her being able to get drunk and run all over the city). The doctor telling her on the phone "the test results weren't great.....so you'd need a stem cell transplant". Now, every doctor I've know uses very precise words when talking to patients on what their medical needs are, so I don't think she's being vague here. My money is on SJ needing the transplant herself, despite the foolish depiction of her malady.
Based on the previews we saw, I'm not confident they'll spill the JD news by tomorrow. If so, I'll give up guessing when it will happen. Will the climax of this show be the divorce proceeding and custody fight? Will the revelation be part of that and held to the next to last episode?????
EDIT - Well, I guess we know why she's converting all her assets in the US to cash. She's planning on paying for the hospital bills for her transplant surgery.
I'll say this once- Mi Rae deserves better. She deserves someone who is ready to fight for her love. Kang San…
I can't for the life of me, imagine that THIS is the Male Role Model these writers are trying to project? I mean, what is the message in this series? I just don't get it.
Loelha's comment about feeling compelled to watch this car wreck of a show made me think.
I actually look forward more to our discussions of this mess, rather than watching the show. Either our wild speculation as to what is next or collectively leaning on each other to understand the bewildering aspects of this show, I do enjoy interacting with all of you in this group much more than sitting down and watching these characters act out the final episodes of this thrown-together contraption of a drama.
I really do respect the cast for keeping their intensity (such as it is) during this time, as opposed to TRHC where everyone seems to have given up.
I don’t think she should. KS has made it clear who he loves and who he has chosen. They need to stand United.…
The problem is, Sher, the story is so absurd now, that we are thinking waaaay too much about it. Think of it - KS is actually living with the parents of the woman he claims he is going to divorce (although he hasn't even bothered to follow up with her on whether she'll sign or not - typical KS). This is so nonsensical that it defies logic. Not only that, he gives up the chance of a separate house he can afford (nice trick in Seoul) where he and MR can have some alone time.
For whatever reason teenage girls very often have very unattractive personalities in KDramas. I find it very hard…
You are all correct. And IMO, this is 100% on KS. He should be protecting MR from this nutjob 'wife' of his. This includes telling HR/HS to prevent her from entering the Academy, as he is JD's only legal guardian for the term of his contract with them for her education. He also needs to warn SJ IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS she is to stay away from the Ok/Hwang house and make no further contact with MR. Get SS to enforce that legally if needed. He also needs to sit down with that brat kid of his and straighten her out, gently but FIRMLY. And finally tell the Chairman, CR, and DH what is going on (a little late for DH at this point).
All of which KS seems to be incapable of. At this point, JD just takes off whenever she wants to, with him yelling after her, or she outright lies to him and he doesn't even bother to follow up.
And yet, they are going to reward this clown with MR and a starry future. Only in Dramaland.
I got the feeling that none of the Writers, the producers, nor the director were ever invested in this drama.…
As far as marketing and promotion goes, from the start, they sold this as the 3 of them (KS, MR, JD) as a to-be family. Just look at the full opening credits. These 2 females were the 'apple of KS eye'. But that didn't keep pace with the reality of the show. They then switched gears and sold it as the story of a single dad trying to raise a rebellious teenager. Only until recently, were the promotions switched to the KS/MR angle as the 'accidental couple destined to fall in love'. FWIW, as of last week, they dropped all promos for AOME here on KBS America and replaced them with TRHC promos that only focus on the first 10 episodes of that show - so deceiving as well.

I think it was probably a sort of feel-good drama that everyone could relate to (raising a teenager). And it had plenty of good arcs in it to keep it interesting for 120 eps. But somewhere about episode 30, someone should have started asking questions about where the series is going. That may have been the point where people lost interest? I wonder about how much turn-over there was for the staff on this series as it wore on?
The other thing that's weird is that TRHC imploded almost simultaneously. I've never seen that in a daily/weekender before.
Well, that was a bit much.At least they are dressing KS in more collared shirts now, maybe they heard our bitching. And…
The biggest failure in the plot at this point for me (and I know that there are bigger concerns for everyone else) is that all the characters in her family are ignoring the 'elephant in the room'. How did SJ come to have so much money? And what has she been doing? All we get is a vague answer about real estate. YJ is the only one asking and of course her mother shuts her down every time she brings it up. But how has this not managed to penetrate KS's skull to have him demand an answer?
Well, that was a bit much. At least they are dressing KS in more collared shirts now, maybe they heard our bitching. And YeJu is really cute in the scene when they asked her if she had a boyfriend.
Otherwise, more KS stammering, stopping himself from really speaking his mind, and refusing a career path to the future. YOU DUMMY - How are you supposed to impress your in-laws at this rate????
I'm curious to see YJ's reaction to the Jandi news. I think we're all in agreement that SD will go nuts, especially on HD. He might order KS to move out to the other house at that point. As usual KS will do something stupid and refuse. SS will support SD.
I'd have to believe that excess alcohol consumption is contraindicated in leukemia patients, so who knows what SJ is up to???
I have wondered how JJ and YJ seem to have ended up so normal as opposed to SJ who is her mother made over. I…
According to my boss, her family behaves odd: The oldest should be the more 'responsible' one, riding herd on the rest of the kids. The middle child tends to do their own thing (in this case, that is JinJu who is actually the eldest), while the youngest gets away with murder and can never do any wrong (Which describes SeJun to a tee, but she's the middle child). And YeJu???? I have no idea where she fits in.
The YT clips this morning seem to be all about SJ. I think I'll put off watching this one until later this afternoon, once the laundry is done.
You know, how smart is JinJu? She left that annoying Mom of hers behind and took off to Canada. SS needs to wise up and go to be with his family there and get out too. I wonder if Jin Ju wants that?

They've shown some 40+ year old women getting preggers in the most recent KBS Dramas ( Bravo My Life & 3BS). But nothing with an over 50 y/o woman.

Thank you everyone for keeping this enjoyable!!!
