Why do I want cake, donuts, and fresh baked bread after I watch this show? šŸ˜‚
When they showed the fresh-baked croissants, it drove me nuts.

I rewatched ep 20 last night and kept think what the heck happened to this drama? YD was feisty and blunt, putting…
I find myself strangely satisfied with 36, at least with the ending. It's nice to be able to not think of the show. LOL.
Maybe they did it to create buzz for the show? I mean, look at how the comments section here blew up over the last 3 eps. Orders from on-high to get people all over the world talking about it? I dunno, Sher, I give up guessing with this series. Just let it play out and see what happens. I'm sure we'll be screaming this weekend again, at BongNim if the preview is accurate.

I haven’t watched the subbed episode yet so I can’t really comment. I had a super busy day with not much time…
You don't need the subs actually to appreciate the KS/DH scenes. Those 2 are so good. Father & future SIL. Although DH doesn't look that much older than KS, to me.

I think she may tell JH that he needs to allow his dad and her mom to marry - which will raise another whole set…
This is why I'm glad Ding told the whole story. Now CR knows she was being coveted by a married man.

But didn't MR hear the WHOLE story? When they talked about using MR to take over the company? She hasn't mentioned that.

I enjoyed the time KS and DH spent together and KS was really studying those shoes. ā˜ŗļøI didn’t like how,…
AT any rate, I think that when she finds out that DH is MR dad, and the potential conflict with Little Dong will spell the end of their relationship. That, or she steps up and tells that punk to back off MR.

well at 35 they can't trust him, and neither would I, his life choices are idiotic, at best. It's just my opinion.
He'll wind up time-sharing that side chick, if you get my meaning, anyhow. That dummy.

I so wanted MR’s brother to punch JH so everyone in the family had laid hands on him except the chairman, SJ…
instead of "i want to punch you so hard now" I wanted him to say "I want to throw you off this building so bad now"

At least KS reminded the busybodies he also saved JD that time too.

As far as Ding, I know I'm in the tiniest of minorities here, but she's not in the same league as he devious brothers. She's his Aunt, and was just as shocked as anyone to hear what her dirtbag nephew did. She's obligated to ask for his forgiveness, and I understand her fear of him going to the US unsupervised....you know that little creep will hook up again with his favorite working-girl. She also cleared the air on the deal with Big Dong's wife's death, something that even CR did not know. This was a big deal, I think. I don't expect her to look at her nephew the same again.

Props to CR for speaking the whole truth too, so even her father understands now.

But all that pales in comparison to the scenes with DH. Another powerful performance. He steals the show for me.

Were you guys watching the same episode I was? She was there, saying goodnite to MR.
LOL, she didn't hit critical mass!

Well this was almost a situation of TOO MUCH action in an episode (certainly by this show's standards at least).
MR "forgive"? I guess
MR "forget"? Nope. At least, I hope not. The seeds of Dong Destruction have been sowed.

The biggest development for me was KS finding out who MR's dad is. I'm surprised that's not being mentioned here. Based on their previous history, they would have dragged this out for a week. Not only does CR find out everything, but so does KS. This much development is mind-blowing for me. Plus getting to see DH & KS shop for women's shoes was pretty cute.
Good Episode!

I forgot to add something obvious:Granny (The Real Cupid has Come) - YD, want to get on your grandma's side forever?…
That was really sweet

Maybe because I grew up watching Mexican novelas this whole drama that's happening in the story is something I'm…
I'm really curious to see how Grandma reacts to InOk trying to order her to do something. I can't imagine she's going to let the woman she's held in contempt for years order her around?

I'm telling you, if YD takes off that Baby Bjorn and lets Granny hold the baby for a while, Granny will put YD on the family register HERSELF, just to piss off InOk.

As i said in my summary tho. I still do need to see YD to step up for TK. Like, a lot. Best way doing so would…
I always approach a TV show knowing I have to suspend my common sense and reality. But with this show, that is an UNDERSTATEMENT.

I forgot to add something obvious:
Granny (The Real Cupid has Come) - YD, want to get on your grandma's side forever? Let her hold Haneul. Since JM won't let her hold Olive, you will have the inside track here. All Granny wants to do is hold one of her great-grandkids. Otherwise, Granny, in her own way is doing everything she can for YD while keeping her gruff exterior in place, including calling TK and doing the Sargent Schultz impression "I KNOW NOTHING, I SEE NOTHING!" Talk about a redemption arc!

Ikr. Is like they changed the writer, producer and director at the same time. The last episodes are so frustrating…
We need to find out the circumstances between DW and her mom. I don't think we ever heard?

I'll make this quick. This wasn't the deepest episode, but at least it didn't leave me screaming at the monitor.

Ep 36 - Quicksand

Most notable scenes -

SooJung offers to help raise Olive...but HW declines as his 'wife' demands only he do that work. Jesus, READ THE ROOM, PEOPLE. For me, JM is vying for most loathed character behind the trio of InOk, SJ & JH. Her demands on having almost no one interact with her child except her father takes the cake. Meanwhile she's merrily working her heart out. Let your Sister-in-Law help raise your child, since she can't have one of her own! JM, what is your problem with SJ??? Am I missing something here?

Hee's speech to TK. I can't believe I'm typing this. I've gone from hoping Hee was the one for Uncle, to despising her conniving ways, and now, she's almost angelic for trying to help YD and TK reconcile. Telling TK that it's OK to be angry, hurt and hateful , as long as he is true to his love for her, was pretty moving and insightful. It made him think (and me too). If they are brought back together, it will be courtesy of her. This was actually a very believable moment for me, in their relationship. He can now try to process his feelings for her in a more nuanced way, instead of bouncing from 'i love you' to 'you tortured me' etc. As we see in the last quarter of the show, he doesn't seem to mind the quicksand trap he's stepped in as he's being dragged deeper back into love with her.

The Damsel-in-Distress (over and over again). Once again it's TK to the rescue, this time snatching her from the now openly threatening JH and bringing her to safety at his place, however temporary a respite it is. He was able to see JH's increasing derangement and now has no excuse to not pursue some form of legal protection for YD. They have to do something, all her stuff is still at hers & Hee's apartment. It's kind of a cheap plot trick to bring them together again, but what do you expect at this point? This ain't exactly Gone With the Wind.

and finally, the youngest couple:
Take one very intelligent, sexually frustrated rich girl, add in a handsome single father with the IQ of a donut and things probably won't work out great. And they don't after she hears his feelings for her expressed clumsily, at best, and she must face that every attempt by her to bring them closer get deftly rebuffed by him. She's given it a try for a year, with little to show for it, beyond holding hands and the occasional kiss, it seems. He has no idea that this is the best offer he'll ever get from a woman, and she needs to stop thinking so much about everything in relationships and realize WHO she's dating and adapt to his reduced cranial activity. We've got wayyy too many episodes left for them to break things off now, so here's hoping they can figure things out, maybe with SK's help. But with SK's birth mom hovering in the background, there will be even more turbulence ahead on their flight ahead.

I'll give the show a chance next week, why not? With liberal use of the FF feature, that is. The previews look ridiculous, if they are to be believed, which I don't anymore.

Can the Real Brain Trust bring us back from the brink of being tossed on the dustbin of K-dramas? Stay tuned, friends. We shall see.

No, they are not. She thinks too much and he's too dumb to figure anything out. She tries to take the relationship forward and he keeps stepping away. And it snapped apart today as they can't figure out why there is a distance between them.
