Many think Strawberry could be BN or JH's mother.I sincerely hope it's neither one nor the other. If Strawberry…
Ummmmm, didn't I propose this as a series-ender a few weeks ago and you didn't like it? LOL (They open the DNA results in front of everyone and it shows TK as Dad, end-shot of everyone stunned including TK/YD).
Actually, I think the suggestion from a few weeks ago (I apologize I don't remember who mentioned it) that he will die protecting YD from SeJin's attempt to harm her is increasingly likely. It solves a lot of problems and gets rid of her.
So here we are asking 'now what' after an emotionally draining weekend for this series. There are 2 things that keep bugging me about where we are now, but I think I'll save them for later in the week when the group goes into Hibernation Mode .
At any rate, in mentioning the highlights for Ep 34 I forgot: - InOk telling TK she was doing all this 'for him'. I found that really objectionable. This was about HER feelings for YD. Shame on her for laying it on her son.
In retrospect, I would have changed the ending slightly. If you will indulge me:
YD has created a Safe Haven for herself with her physical distance from her loved ones/JH and by staying busy raising her infant while doing consulting work from home. After a year's absence, she returns to Seoul for a business meeting with her T/A.
(Forward to 1hr, 9mins in series) He tells her he's not heard from TK in 7 months, and you can see her do the math in her head as she calculates this as when the baby was born. There is a mix of disappointment, sadness, and some relief there that He's Moved On. Next thing we see is that she's in the lovingly-decorated nursery of some random couple's apartment. Her eye is drawn to items on a dresser and she sees things she can't understand: familiar-looking handmade booties/mittens, then a hat and rattle set she hasn't seen in over a year. Confused, she then sees The Bracelets. At that moment her mind goes from "Who's House is This?" to her stunned realization that TK has NOT moved on and rather, she is standing in a shrine he's created to their child (his Taj Mahal, if you will). THIS IS WHERE I'D CHANGE THINGS She gasps and says "This is Real's Room!". Rather than TK walking in, she looks in horror at everything in the room as a tsunami of guilt races towards her. Her instinct is to run and she clutches Haneul and quickly runs out of the apartment leaving yet another confused realtor behind. She returns to her hotel room and with the baby asleep, sits on the floor wide-eyed and scenes of their beach date run thru her mind as her safe haven is washed away in the tidal wave of guilt for what she must have done to him. For the first time since she's left, she has seen the consequences of her actions and begins sobbing as we fade-out.
I really wanted her to deal with this by herself so she can come to grips with it, before they reunite, but that's just me. Because when they meet there are going to be a lot of different emotions at play simultaneously. She needs to realize that running away is not the answer to everything. Let's see what they give us on Saturday. This should be one of the highest-rated episodes yet.
I'll make this really brief as we've beaten this one to death here. I need a break from this series for a few days. So, here's what I found interesting: -lack of info on youngest couple. Really writers? All that buildup and you deny us the fun of them finding out who is who? Have they really not figured it out? -Hunky Dory with JM/HW ...well it's time to clear the decks for this couple. Toss the Pharmacist and JM's underling out in the trashbin. They're no longer needed for these new parents in wedded bliss....except....she's back to being a workaholic. Hey, Doc, you might keep the contact info for the pharmacist lady, just in case your wife still can't figure out her priorities in life - Hee busted. We were ready to kick her to the curb too, but nope, not yet. Talk about a cat landing on its feet. - TK's leaving home. I loved how he walked past InOk, paused, then went out the door in silence. Bravo! - YD's cold. Ok, fine, you're on the run. But if you called your uncle, you couldn't call your mom and simply tell her "Mom, I'm fine and living with a friend, you have a healthy grand-daughter now. I can't tell you any more than that, don't worry about me." and hang up. SMDH
As far as granny goes here's my useless prediction: she's going to visit to recruit them to start the Strawberry hunt. That's all she cares about right now. Oh, she'll urge them to stay together for the sake of the kid, etc. But she wants to find her child. My gut tells me this is the direction the series is going in now that Real's born.
Everybody take care and have a good night from hot & muggy Southern California.
I agree with most of what you said but he is angry. I really can see him giving her the cold shoulder. Like you…
I went back and watched that too. I was alarmed about the crossed arms body language. Is he just laying down the law with her? Who knows?
But at this point, the previews are getting too deceptive. I'm really irked how they faked the TK as the attending dr scene in the last preview. Time to take them with an even bigger grain of salt.
This episode was the equivalent of eating too much at an all-you-can-eat buffet place but the food wasn't that good. And put me down in the column for wanting to know what about the youngest couple?
I agree with most of what you said but he is angry. I really can see him giving her the cold shoulder. Like you…
Don't get me wrong, I don't want him fawning over her pretending everything is fine and I'll-do-anything, please-dont-leave-me-again. I'm afraid that might happen. He NEEDS to do some introspection now and figure out if he can ever love her again, given her behavior. He loves Real/Haneul, to be sure, but even that brings complications too. He's reached a very critical part of his life now. But the male reflex is to hold her tight and never let her go. He needs to go beyond that. As far as she goes, I have no idea what to say about her. I'll leave that up to you all. Being disappointed in her seems to put it mildly.
(This show will be the death of me yet. I thought I learned my lesson after the It's Beautiful Now fiasco and try to keep my distance from these writers. SIGH. I don't think this is a spoiler. My brains are too fried after enduring that episode.)
So much speculation on what TK will do, having her in his grasp again. Iāll give you a guyās perspective.
TK will absolutely take her back and carefully try to resume their relationship. He will take baby-steps (pardon the pun) to make sure she doesnāt get overwhelmed and try to run away again. Why, TK, after what sheās done to you? Because he loves her.
At least he THINKS he does. Theirs has always been an awkward relationship. It started out as one of convenience, then of support, then of emotional reliance. But not of romance, at least until they got to the beach. Everything about them has an undercurrent of awkwardness and itās why they have such trouble communicating at times. Even their kiss was awkward. Something weāve waited so long for and that was unequal too (Hey, YD, how about moving around a little and touching him???) He kissed her, is all I can say. She just happened to be in the vicinity. And of course, their ādateā ended without her even being able to return a simple 'I love you" because she staged the whole thing as a pretense to leave him with a smile and avoid seeing his anguish. YD, you are a COWARD.
Reflecting on this void in his life from her absence, heās more than aware that heās loved her more and for longer than she has (if she did at all - doubts courtesy of BongNim). Heās had plenty of time to stew on it, given the events of the last year. And itās emotionally drained him. Heās sworn off women and retreated back into his shell, much more isolated than before she came along. It looks like TK; but only on the outside.
And now, suddenly, thanks to the miracle of living in Dramaland (a suburb of Seoul) there she is, with āhisā child, in his apartment. And he is naturally pole-axed. And knowing YD, her mind is racing on how to get out of there.
OF COURSE, he told her (in the preview) āyouāre not going anywhere.ā (I would have used those same exact words, except emphasized ANYWHERE). Heāll be damned to let events repeat this time. In his mind, thereās nothing stopping them now: Heās broken ties with his mother and family, lives by himself, and his life is a vacuum now. Remember the scene in The Force Awakens when Rey puts a drop of water on that cube and it turns into a loaf of bread immediately? Thatās what her return did for him. It was an instant salve to the searing pain and numbing scab heās had to endure for the last year. Do you think heās giving that up?
So, he once again embraces her, because he loves her? He thinks he does. But TK really needs to ask himself at this point: Can I trust her? He needs to come face to face with that question and answer it honestly, because he hasnāt yet. Because you canāt have love without trust. He seems to dance around it. Do you love her TK, or do you just need her in your life? And if you canāt trust her, you must let her go. Otherwise, sheāll just run away again and youāll be right back in Hell.
This freaking show. I should have my head examined.
TK should go on dates while YD is staying with him. Would serve her right. Let her feel some anguish.
That won't happen, Sher. He loves her. Nothing of what she did matters. I'll try to write my reaction to this once I can focus. There was too much happening here.
But mark my words. He won't let her get away this time, and she won't feel his wrath, but his love for her. he's doomed to an unequal relationship, at least up to now. Guys are dumb like that. Believe me.

And we get right back in the AOME saddle tomorrow. SIGH.
I'm going to turn off the PC for a while and get some fixings to make a Strawberry Margarita and think about dinner.
