Keeping this brief, or at least trying to, because I cannot bring myself to care for most of today’s episode.…
But she went back there when she (and her mom) pleaded with IO. There was ample opportunity for her to get her stuff. She had all her other clothes, etc. What happened to them?
umm unlike yesterday i am actually writing a summary i just started quite late bc i needed time to stomach it…
Thank you! The YT clips today were especially cryptic and confusing. I feel sorry for those of you who stay up so late (or get up so early) to watch it live.
OMG!!! Thankyou for your rant. I actually posted below about how I had to pause 11 minutes in because I physically…
Yeah I caught that too. I figured it was their way of saying "I know what you're going thru" that we use in those kind of situations, despite having no idea what someone is going thru. I'm not sure of how much more backstory we're ever going to get on him. At least we did learn that he never married KS mom.
Thank you. Your calm explanation soothed my fly off the handle reaction just a bit. You definitely thought that…
And the final thumb-in-our-eye from the beach scene was a kiss that turned out to be a farewell kiss. I have a lot more to say about that 'kiss', but I'm too frazzled to think about it.
Excellent analysis. I think there were several prior "incidents" that show that InOk is obsessed with her son.…
Kathryn, I think you're expectation is what it should have been. As a son who disappointed his mom on more than one occasion, it would make sense. But in this case, she's DISAPPOINTED by TK and ANGRY at YD. What should have happened was her telling him "Fine, you lied to me about something so important, I must not be much of a mother figure to you. Go live with her on your own" and kicking HIM out of the house/annex. Instead she brow beats him while traumatizing her and evicting her off the property.
Although she certainly has an issue with her son, it pales to the heartbroken anger towards YD. This is why she can't be reasoned with, despite YD's pleas to her that obviously moved her (as long as she's hidden by a closed door). All she sees is that she's been cheated on by YD: cheated from the idealized future she pictured with her son's family and her grandchild, brought to her by the daughter in law she fell in love with.
At least that's how it struck me. I wouldn't expect this behavior from an angry MIL....but I would from a jilted lover.
Okay, I made it through today's episode. It doesn't look like tomorrow's is going to be much better.
I want to be an Ostrich tomorrow, but we need to understand what happens before/during the time skip, if for no other reasons, the secondary story lines.
She said Oh Ha Neul... is she leaving him or does she just plan to give the baby her last name regardless?
And why didn't that throw a HUGE red flag at him? He should have said, 'oh, we need to register before the baby is born, so it will be Gong HaNeul' I'm still shaking my head over that scene.
Anyone up for some speculation? I have a feeling that the InOk issue won't be sorted out, for a while at least. She's burned her bridges to YD and won't listen to anyone. Something tells me that the Strawberry Hunt will reveal something that will force InOk to accept them as a couple. So the focus of the show, once HaNeul is delivered, will be on the Hunt. But I don't know how the Hunt will take place if YD/HN are kept apart from TK. Unless they have decided to resolve this by just living by themselves in peace as their own family. And then help Granny on the side. Just wondering......I need something to distract me from today's episode.
In the meantime I'm going to bury my anxiety in a Peach Milkshake tonight.
Soo Jung, Granny and Patrick are the only ones i will accept visiting Taekyung, Haneul and Yeondoo in their home,…
Yeah, I wasn't expecting that from HW. Really disappointing. I mean, he was thinking about fooling around with the Pharmacist Lady not too long ago. And he's been with TK/YD since almost the beginning. Should have just told him to stay on the D/L with YD and wait it out.
Thank goodness Chick-fil-A has peach milkshakes for sale now. I need some comfort food.

At the funeral the things that impressed me the most was SS, and how well he treated his niece, and his reaction while she spoke to her mom. Also, SD was really good too: compassionate, reasonable, and caring. He is the most complex character on this show (IMO). I hate him at times, yet in quiet moments, he tries to impart his fatherly advice to his son and family. I think the whole thing with him and Aunty Ding and HD may have cut that part of his personality down to-size a bit and I hope that some Humble Pie will make him a better character.
It occurs to me, that this show is actually HIS story, as much or more than her's (as it started out to be).
IF faced with a stressful situation:
THEN Bow Head
AND
Lie
ELSE
Run Away.
