mun jae stole it. he was the mouse since the beginning. he is not even the real mun jae, cause the real one is the detective that got sent back to orphanage once the mouse was born
-the incipit of the movie, the first foreshadow: "what's the difference between "was" and "used to be"? both means that it has passed but "used to be" carries a sense of loss. " when they are both going to jail and they talk to each other, she says she used to be scared while he says he was scared but not anymore; a face to face emotional talk but they never were in the same van to begin with. The fear may be gone but their innocence lost along the way is also gone.
-"we should not be seen togheter. I'll be behind you. " "what are u gonna do behind me?" "nothing." but that nothing was everything for her, he helped her from drifting away by her sense of loss, her inner void caused by the dread of isolations: she can't even use the TV to avoid debt collectors knocking at her door, her scammer mother left the house, she was bullied, she had no friends, and the only person she liked committed suicide and she could do nothing about that , she could only cover her lifeless body, cause she is a victim and she can't protect anyone when she can't even protect herself. A life ended but not the suffering, her covering up the body signal that the baton has been passed, she inherited her classmate's fate. But he was there, right behind her until the end to protect her and her world, that now becomes his world, even after the 'letter to 20 years after". "you protect the world, I will protect you". "I am a man with nothing but I love someone, I want her to have an happy ending" They are an anchor for each other.
-"Have you ever seen the eyes of wild animals just before they are killed? They have no expression." "It's because they are afraid, that's why they are expressionless." The foreshadow is there, crystal clear, the bully fate is imminent, clock is ticking.
-"Take a deep breath. Remember to remain calm. Dawn is breaking. Glory is coming. Let us prevail and bask in the light of a new dawn. We shall prevail. We will achieve glory." That's a war cry but they are just going to take an exam, just an exam that will mold their entire future.
-"Noone ever taught us how to become adults" Kids and adults live in different worlds. The barrier that divides both worlds it's not that easy to take down. But in this movie I've seen a lot of adults that did not completely disappoint, they are not perfect but they are doing their best. The teacher that while packing his stuff cause he was just fired is still reassuring his student that it's not her fault it's the adult's fault. The detective that does everything to uncover the truth, because no one should take the blame for others doing especially when they are just teenagers and only the truth can give u real freedom even if it comes with a cost. The mother that knows she owns her daughter a lot but still carry on and does everything she can to raise her. She left the city after the facial mask accident but she didn't ghost her, she loves her but her absence, her job and her pushing for the gaokao are sill the main reason why her daughter gets bullied and she didn't seek adult's help.
I also liked that the movie is full of close ups. Actors fill the whole screen with their face and emotions, there is minimal dialogue but their silence and micro expressions carry a whole universe, they are raw but tender.
I'm not promoting anything, I'm giving options. Viki has regional locks and the app u mentioned are banned in some countries, so unfortunately not everyone can watch it there.
What a plot twist 😮—the protagonist dies in the very first episodes! I hope he comes back to life and solves…
I'm pretty sure he is not dead. the trailer of next episode only showing the ML is just to bait ppl to think that. also there is a cut before medics declare him dead and a cut to the hugging scene
wish everyone were smart enough to understand this simple ending and serach a little
the series indeed has an open ending. but u said his wish was fulfilled and the guy was saved with no hint from the show, this is far from an open ending, u are kinda confused here.
wish everyone were smart enough to understand this simple ending and serach a little
don't be a smartass lol. unless it's shown, it's just their interpretation, he could have died from his Illness or they could be both dead from the meteorites as far as we know. also if u need to watch a live of the actors to understand the ending it means it is just bad.
i'm scared. both actors and director are so young yet so talented. i'm scared their next works will keep raising the bar, cause they already did with this One. i hope the last 5 episodes will not change my opinion
