I sure would like to know why this non-Asian-produced show is listed here on MDL, but not Giri/Haji? (I had requested…
I didn`t know it was non-Asian and I was just about to comment how a typical the production seems (just from the trailer). I only watch asian "horror" because it's not really that horrifying or disturbing.
I'm curious, what soundtrack annoyed you? For me, the rap was out of place in a historical setting.
Agreed. Though that was actually one I kind of liked. But I mean the backroundtracks. There was a truly awful one in the few first episodes. And one during the cheesy romance parts. That are some examples. One of my favorites played during the very last scene.
I loved Princess Agents but really didn`t like The Wolf (just finished). And now I see the ratings go down for this one... :-/
But I really haven`t found a good action drama this whole year! :-( I think I will just be content if there are enough good fight choreos! Love in Between had some great ones - but only in the first half, I think. ...?
Pros: The main female actress, two or three of the soundtracks, some really nice scenery.
Cons: Everything else! Some of the soundtracks were annoying or even off putting during some scenes (at least for me). The main couple was only interesting when there was antagony between them. The other times the acting was way too sweet/cheesy/childish without any real feeling chemistry (probably the biggest "con" for me). I found many of the dialoges so pointles and emty - I wish I would have started to press fast forward sooner.I didn`t particularly like ANY of the characters and the relationships/interactions. And a lot of the performances (with a few exceptions) didn't feel natural/genuine. But then I don`t think the characters where well written and the different sides of them didn't really fit together well... I assume some of the actors just tried to give the director that she wanted.
A lot of scenes where so unconvincing - it was like the writers/producers were allergic to logic or paying attention to detail. I don`t expect a Wuxia drama to stick to rules of physics or human biology... but they really aren't hiding their disregard for the latter. Thought I could hear my brain cells dying ...a bandage OVER armor... OUCH! And I know they wanted the make the mail leads look "manly" but Darren Wang looked like he had to much tanner and Sean Xiao`s few facial hairs looked weird.
The "misunderstandings" might be annoying but I find the "romance" so unbearable boring in the episodes without antagony between them. Its the biggest part of the shows concept and the only thing making it entertaining, even though I don't find myself shipping them. Honestly I am almost done and can`t find a single reason to recommend this show. For most of the show the only thing that makes the FM look smart is the actress not the writing. Also Melodrama belongs in the genres!
Honestly there is nothing I actually love about this drama. But I found the writing of the characters and their interactions especially lacking somehow. I the beginning I thought this had the worst soundtrack ever... but towards the end there some really good ones. They only consistently occurring things enjoyably where the visuals. Though I wish the characters had as many great dialogues as stylish outfits.
Already watched. Don`t regret it but the writing was really lazy/underwhelming in the end. The Production and some of the fight choreos where the best thing.

...?
Probably the deepest, most touching (to me) sentence of the show.

I dropped season 1...

The ending is far more satisfying then of Princess Agents and it`s far less boring than Eternal Love!
