The White Truck of Doom

I'm up to ep 18. Watching for Zhang Vin. When Lady Li, Jing Ke and Han Shen do stupid stuff, I just fast forward through those parts. It's my way of "editing" the drama.

The writing for Dilraba's part is awful. They have her do really dumb things. Also things that don't make sense for a mother to do. (avoiding spoilers). I don't feel that she fits the part she plays in this drama, but oh well. She doesn't have the charisma to carry off a leading role. I mute the sound sometimes, and just pay attention to the subtitles. :}

Zhang Vin IS the show, he commands the screen every time he appears.
Meanwhile the writers have wasted a lot of time making Li / Lady Li, Jing Ke and Han Shen do really stupid things that even a 5 year old would know better than to do.
(This is fast forward time for me).
Still, no matter how bad these parts are, I can't tear my eyes away when Zheng Vin comes on the screen. Fortunately the writers haven't miffed his part and it makes the whole thing worth watching.

I liked the drama better AFTER the reset. Hope that helps and didn't give a spoiler. :)

No, all Thai dramas aren't like this. But Lakorns often are a bit more over the top then other countries' dramas. If you want to see different genres of Lakorns, go over to Jasmin's Lakorn Blog (google it)

would there be a different one for Chinese Dramas? Some overlap but in alot of at least the historical ones or wuxia, the spitting blood trope.

twins too. Although you see the evil twin thing more in Thai Lakorns.

that pic of blue track suit from Secret Garden, love it. The rich male lead was so proud of his fashionable track suit, only to see same thing on a poor guy in jail. Didn't Rooftop Prince have the tracksuit? Sort of an "easter egg" or trolling the viewer?

Part 2:
1) getting rained on, end up in hospital with IV (maybe more so in Chinese dramas?
2) couple falls down accidentally kisses.
3) wooden kisses, girl doesn't move mouth and whites of eyes are huge.
4) track suits. Love the track suits, thought that you were gonna mention them. But maybe they aren't a trope as much as they are the writers/producers trolling folks.

wow, I didn't realize that was him in Chief Kim! Great. Still I like him best in his roles as scary dudes. Oh and Chief Kim was GREAT! Agree with you on all aspects of your review.

Park Hae Jin was being tactful. If there was chemistry, the temperature wouldn't have gotten in the way.
