The White Truck of Doom

I got halfway through and just got tired of it. It's a shame because the actors are good but the writing is just off.

Accurate assessment. and annoying background music - a problem with many dramas. I find myself constantly adjusting volume or even muting.

It's a room com so no worries.

I think they had dis-functional families until they joined together as one family.

Pretty good acting and production. It almost felt like a movie at first. But- the editing is abrupt in places. Feels like leading up to a scene but then it skips. But so far entertaining.

what a masterpiece!

Quality of Chinese dramas does vary widely. There are many well produced and entertaining ones. But there are a few really bad ones like this that are ruined by an actor who is completely without talent. Not sure how Allen Yu gets cast in any drama.

The storyline is good but Allen Yu drags the whole thing down. There's an enormous contrast between his flat effect verses all the other actors. It's like he's barely there. It is hard to believe he put any effort or work in this. It is a huge shame that his part wasn't given to someone with at least some ability. He doesn't emote, he lacks personality. I keep imagining almost any other actor in this part and think how much better this could be. And it isn't fair to the other actors in this drama who worked so hard.

Wang Haoxuan should be called "The Thief" because he steals every scene he is in.

The emperor seems useless. Liked the female lead.

good choices. Several of those are my favorite.

In one episode the male lead had to get basically drunk to make the scene realistic. It was my favorite episode.

You are right! Xu Kai exudes personality and charisma. His qualities are enhanced when he is paired with a female lead who also has alot of charisma or humor even.

The female lead's character puts out mostly negative energy.
Her main expression is a frown. She doesn't make you care about her (anymore).
She may have emotions but they are limited. Even if she has to obey her "master" this portrayal of love for male lead feels empty.
I think this has a lot of impact on why the drama loses it's appeal halfway through.

the male lead is such a dud. He has 0 charisma.

the plot evolves. It literally is a long story.

IMHO, Jian Chao is best as a sort of bad guy. He was great in Ice Fantasy, he played one of the bad guys Crown Prince Xin Jue [Fire]. He was hot lol
