I loved the Empress as well. I really loved this drama and Ying Luo but it's ok that you don't like the drama or Ying Luo. Sometimes it happens.
There 's a few popular dramas that I just couldn't get into. Sometimes it just happens.

the thing I like about it is the female lead does not let anyone push her around.
It was sooo satisfying. This is based on history but it is the female lead's character that makes it great. I would enjoy her type in other dramas, modern or not.
She's smart and knows strategy. She's caring and very loyal..
The rest of the characters are very interesting and all acting is excellent.
The setting is beautiful.

Yoon Gyun Sang was great as Mu Hyul in Six Flying Dragons. His performance was jaw dropping.

sometimes I think a subber will throw in an "easter egg". I was watching a Chinese drama I think, and they were talking about receiving a telegram (that period of history) and the subber posted it as email. Cracked me up.

I'm very grateful to people who do translations. And if a drama is in middle of subbing, I'll usually wait till it's all subbed before starting is, so as to marathon it. Except for The Story of Yunxi Palace, I couldn't wait for the subs all the time so ended up re-watching some eps to find out what I missed.

no. It was years ago it was on Netflix I believe around 2015 or earlier. It was the first Asian drama I had ever seen. After that I was hooked on Asian dramas of all types.

so "Queen Seon Duk" was my very first Asian drama! Saw it incidentally on Netflix and was wowed. Absolutely.

Loved him in Story of Yanxi Palace. So much character development and he was just so natural .

I'm up to Ep 10. I keep falling asleep when watching this drama. I want to like it because of Bolin Chen. The female lead lacks charisma. I fast forward her scenes. The Princess is apparently dubbed by a giddy 5 year old girl. I fast forward through her scenes. The Prince is another person who ads nothing to the drama. FF those too. There's a lot of FF.

oh my gosh this is exciting news. Thank you so much. It amazes me - it takes a tremendous amount of work for a single episode.

this is the one time I think that 3 people truly belong together.
And it was about love, not something else. I liked this part of story better than the rest.
