I feel the same as you!!! It's everything about Joss and Gawin's aura that feels so familiar. Personally, they feel like a splash of freshness and western touch. They don't have this over the top acting cute and serving hundreds of content of fan service like I feel from the other pairings. No he won't! It's more like a super vampire as you mentioned. Human abilities (senses, feelings and emotions) are like superpowers to vampires since living is meaningless when they don't experience such things.
Yes but not only that, the golden blood can make them more powerful also it can restore their vitality. For instance, Thara isn't weak to the point of death it's just because she overused her powers (the more a vampire uses their powers the weaker they get). The only way for a vampire to recover from their weakness or to became human again is by tasting golden blood. To become more powerful a vampire has to drain the golden blood bearer "dead".
