It's like the lakorns set up great chemistry and then the second half things get derailed with very little time spent on the couple which is why most of us watch the show anyway. Bad Romeo did a better job of at least spending SOME time with the couple at the end otherwise it's just a 5 min scene and issues resolved (but not really) and then Bye.

The last season aired on Mon/Tues I believe vs this season is being aired on Fri/Sat which may be tough days to air. I also do think that they needed to focus on the characters more. I was frankly watching for Eun Jae and Woo jin and they really didn't maximize that couple like they should have. The writing or editing or directing needed to improve. It's still a good show but I am comparing it to S 2 and that's why am seeing a difference.

I agree that she was shown to be impulsive and curious but her decisions put others at risk 1) she brought her infected friend to the lab without first checking with them 2) she went close to the infected person in the 1st episode when she told the short hair girl "i just wanna talk to him" . These are just the two instances I remember of top of my head but there were other examples as well. She got much better later on.

Haha So glad this comment is in someway causing others to watch this show. I am happy I am not the only one who was waiting for a Paradise movie. I feel like it will make for a great American show as well.
GRGR is not my favourite NY novel. I think I liked some of their other stuff better bec GRGR ML was way too aggressive. Back to McNaught, I think her modern novels were just not as addictive as the historicals and I believe she hasn't written in a long time. I have read Paradise multiple times because of the chemistry btw the leads and I find it engaging every time I read it. I am glad Yaya and Mario had the chemistry to bring these characters to life even if it's not "officially" based on that book.

yes you are right, I thought Yaya's character really needed to fight more for Mario's character. She kept putting her dad first even when he was wrong. As you said the chemistry really made the whole show. You could really feel the angst btw the two characters.

Yes, I agree the plot could have been tighter and some scenes could have been explained much better. I was only able to understand some stuff because of the novel (which I think if so many people see the similarities then it must be at least partly based on Paradise). ex the fact the couple's divorce never went through was never explained in the drama but we know from the book that it was that lawyer's fault and it was a surprise to the couple. In the show it made it seem like Kla somehow knew or was not that surprised to find that out. I also really really wish they had kept that ending scene where Meredith goes to win over Matt at this apartment when he basically gave up on her.
As you said, I have wanted an adaption for so long so I am glad to see a yaya/mario combo whom I would never have imagined as Meredith and Matt but I can see so well now.

Yes, I have been meaning to go back and watch Reply 1997. That had good angst:)

Gotta admit I had to struggle to finish after they got together but overall it was still a good show.

1)The acting by every single actor in this show is fantastic. I was crying in different parts of the show one moment and then smiling like a crazy at others.
2) The chemistry btw the leads takes this show to next level. An excellent combination of angst and sweetness. However, I still think that the FL was very very lucky to have such a ML. What an amazing partner.
3) The OST is the highlight and adds so much to the scenes and mood. Just every single song is good.
4) All the supporting characters are loveable especially the FL best friend and even the pop star.
5) The pacing of this show is slow. I will admit I marathoned 3/4 of the show and the last few episodes I dragged on for weeks but since it's a slice of life show I already knew the pacing will be slow. It reminded me of Reply 1997 for some reason (which I loved).
6) Overall the story looks like it's straightforward but the execution makes this excellent. I was going to give it a 7.5 because I had to get back into the mood of watching but I couldn't give it lower than an 8 because objectively speaking it's a very well made and acted show.

Austen's persuasion, P&P, and Emma are my favourite. LOL I cannot stand the love story in Jane Eyre. Have not watched Little women but heard good things. The FL really really annoys me which is why I dropped Goblin too, that romance was a turn off there.

ML and the FL had good chemistry and many sweet moments which made this lakorn one of the better ones but I usually like the rival families stories.
FL and ML had good characters but the 2nd ML had a much better story which suited a drama where he should have been main character.
The FL's family sucked and I could care less about the ML's family too. I didn't care about ANNA but the actress playing it did a good job.
Overall 7.0 from me, watch for the leads chemistry. Wish they had more moments in the last episode. I liked their business dynamic.

Glad you are giving it a try! Let me know how you find it and if you think it's based of Paradise as well. I am a fan of angst and there was plenty of that here but if you are a McNaught fan then you are probably a fan of angst too. LOL

hahha. No that's when it actually picked up and became addictive. I marathoned it in 2 days I think.

It was the most illogical and dumb plot point the writer could come up with. The ML should have left her so she could learn her lesson. She did what ever the heck she wanted with the ML life.

So bad that I had to have a long long rant.

I just finished the show and had to say how much I HATED the ending and how mad I am.
The plot of the lakorn is already weak so I know I am watching for the FL and ML chemistry. So at least give me a good ending with them!!! In the last 2 episodes it's one stupid misunderstanding after the other with a TERRIBLE/choppy/last minute ending.
FL did not deserve the ML who frankly should have given up on her. She made a whole revenge plan but then wanted to forgive everyone. Instead the one person whose life she made hell was ML. She did whatever she wanted without caring about HIS feelings. Ruined such good chemistry with that ending.

Great points. I did sort of stop looking for logic after a while and just rolled my eyes LOLOL. I was like, let ML live and end up with FL, I don't care about anything else.

Yes, seems like they wanted to focus mostly on the apartment. Contains the budget too, I supposed. However, you are right there was a lot more they could have explored or explained.

Yes the whole show was elevated because of the chemistry and how amazing the ML's character was. I didn't even care about the zombies anymore, I just wanted the ML to be happy with the FL at the end....and the ending was rushed. Sigh

I stopped caring about the cure and got more invested in what was happening at the apartment and btw the ML and FL. The cure part and the disease part did NOT make much sense. Up till episode 4 I was trying to figure all of this out and headdesking over the actions taking place but got much better after.
