I didn't say others must agree with me. If they don't agree then great cause I love Lee Joon Gi and I don't want any of his dramas to be considered a massive flop by the whole world, especially when I know he is doing his best at playing his roles . I really dislike this drama, but if you like it then fine, you do you, still I won't pretend to like it just to please others or for my favorite actors sake. Actors did their job, it's not their fault that they didn't get the script they deserved, but the plot and many characters are garbage to me.

This website exist to allow everyone to rate and share their honest opinions on dramas/movies and the actors acting skills, so I said my opinion in details honestly. As long as I'm not insulting the actors personally, or any other user of this website then I won't bother sugar coating my words.

By the way sometimes those high ratings happen cause of the actors fame, and the fans obsession with them, not cause the drama is actually a masterpiece. At times you could just make the actors stand there for whole 20 minutes without saying a word to each other, or write the most toxic plots with the worst clichés and tropes in history and it will still get ratings cause the fans won't mind having any type of content that allows them to enjoy their favorites visuals (A great example of that is BL dramas, most of them got awful plots and even awful acting half of the time, but since the main characters are hot or/and popular everyone will still watch them while trying hard to get over the clear issues going on due to the lack of decent content and I admit it as a BL fan myself).
I know cause I mentioned on my original comment that I only finished this drama out of my love for Lee Joon Gi's visuals and acting skills and that's it, I would drop for sure otherwise.
I did consider some dramas as top tier (Like Flower of Evil and Arthdal Chronicals), but sadly the Korean audience and ratings didn't agree as much as I hoped. Still I didn't get offended over it , just sad since it's their right to do what they want and I can't control others minds after all so chill dude.

Wow, only reason I watched all 16 episodes of this drama (In 4 or 5x speed though) was for Lee Joon Gi as he is my top Korean actor and I love his face lmao but damn I hated everything about the drama from like episode 6 and I mostly watched it late at night to get myself sleepy enough to fall sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow, seriously this drama had one of the most shitty and boring plots that ever existed in drama history.
Last episode was utter dog shit and all million characters who interacted with MC and villain were forgettable as hell. Even if everyone around the MC died I wouldn't blink an eye. They only existed to help the MC after all, and the whole harem crap they tried to pull made it even worse. 1000 girls with zero personalities are into the MC who doesn't give two fucks about any of them that way and then all of a sudden he decides to get married to the most dull and annoying girl in the group whom he had the least chemistry with out of the blue! That made me feel blank...

The acting was good enough, everyone done their job and overall I did like the MC character, but he gave that anime shonen protagonist vibe, being overly smart, arrogant, and cool that you want to smack his head at times. Him and the main villain were the only kinda interesting characters in the plot. The "romance" and action scenes were cliche as hell and even comical at times! Music was boring as well. Humor was meh, especially the MC parents.
I thought we will witness a dope revenge story, but it was a huge disappointment. The grim reaper was almost a pointless character during the whole show. Most villains were really dumb except for the main one whom they made a bit too invincible. Compared to other villains in other dramas I watched before, he is actually not even a great villain to begin with, but still better than most characters included in this drama.

Kdramas have been going downhill lately as I suffer to find a drama worth watching till the end. They all have similar issues, first episodes and idea of plot might be good, but then everything becomes stupid and unrealistic and all characters change 180 degree as if they got possessed and you end up with unsatisfying even rage or depression inducing endings. It's as if they get written by elementary school kids who barely understand what good writing means. They just need famous good looking actors and that's it to gain views, but don't bother giving respect to the viewers and gift them with garbage in exchange for their loyalty to their favorite actors/actresses. I think they should also make most dramas 6-12 episodes only to avoid wasting everyone's time on draggy stories which don't make sense.

Also that Hee Ah or whatever her name was, every time she did the advertisements thing for those beauty products I couldn't help but cringe and roll my eyes. I really hope they don't waste money or time making a second season of this trash.

Okay so I finally watched this movie but honestly I kinda hated it. I know many would disagree with me and would say it's deep and emotional and stuff. I mean yeah it's sad and all, but they could do it in a much better way. There were many points that bothered me like:

1- Why a high school student and teacher relationship? Couldn't they be anything else? Maybe even a college professor and adult student. A co-workers each with spouse and his/her own kids...etc No matter how much I understood what the writer was going for, watching a school girl and a teacher in that type of way (Even if nothing actually sexual was shown or happened) was disgusting to me. I was dying of boredom and uncomfortableness during the second half.

2- Why turn Dew into a girl? Like seriously why?! He could posses a fellow gay/bi (Or even straight) boy and nothing about the story or ending would change at all, they would still be a teacher and minor, the boy could be in a relationship with that abusive Top bastard of a boyfriend, and the teacher and student could still die in the end and everything.
I really despise it when gay male characters turn into females all of a sudden with the excuse of them being reborn or possessed. If I want to see guys and girls together I would watch straight dramas for fucks sake! That detail was hella stupid and pointless to me. I would also be pissed off if it was lesbian relationship and they turn one of the girls into a guy just because. We barely have enough LGBTQ+ content to begin with so why turn them straight too?! (Also some said it was to make their relationship even more impossible since Phop is gay and he can't be with a girl, but did you all forget he was already in a relationship with a woman after he became an adult? It's not that impossible, especially since the brat is already possessed by his one true love...)

3- Not gonna lie at the start Dew's personality was annoying to me, but then him and Phop fell for each other and the plot got all cute and stuff then second part ruined it completely for me. The part about his death didn't impact me as much as I thought it would since they just didn't bother explain it well. They just went "Dew died by accident" and that's it. Ohm was the reason I bothered watching the movie and he obviously did great. I appreciated how realistic the plot was in the past part with the whole extreme homophobia and treatment for gay people, then it went downhill in future. I thought they would try showing us that the world became a bit better and more open minded, but no they still made the couple miserable till the end. Instead of making the issue them being gay, now they turned it into a pedophilia issue as if they want the plot to be as gloomy as it can get and that's it.
I think watching Dew and Phop be older, alive, and maybe forced to be "normal" by getting married and having kids then meeting again later and realizing they didn't get over each other, but can't just abandon their families blah blah would be a much better story to me.
Only reason I gave this movie 3/10 instead of 1 is out of respect for the past part which was decent.

I heard Jaehyun from NCT was supposed to act in a Korean version of this movie (Which is also a remake of an older Korean straight movie?) but they would make it BL made me so hype I almost had a heart attack, but then it got cancelled which left me in rage mode. Now that I actually watched the Thai movie I think am not that bothered any more. I mean I would sell a kidney to see one of my greatest Kpop crushes Jaehyun act in a BL, but if his character turn into a girl halfway through the plot, that would be traumatizing lmao

I loved the donghua of this a lot so I decided to watch the drama as soon as I found it, but it's hella stupid and boring to me. I don't know, I guess some things only work in animated form and as soon as they turn it live action it becomes unbearable to watch. The actors are doing good job and everything, I also love Joseph Zeng, and started watching more of his stuff lately since I loved his roles in Ultimate Note and A Journey Across The Night, but I just can't get into this drama at all.

Still risking the safety of someone isn't excusable at all. What if these other school thugs hurt him greatly or stabbed him? What would she do then? There were a group of them hunting the ML and they could easily kill him if we are speaking realistically. I still dislike her honestly.
Also I can't get over how she also copied his homework (And after what happened to make it worse! If I was in her place, I wouldn't have the courage to look him in the eye even if he forgave me, let alone take credit for something I didn't do myself, but took from someone else who actually made effort to make), it's a sign of a super lazy, irresponsible, selfish, and brazen person who mostly care about their own benefit. I know I might sound super harsh, I can't help it though lmao

Well, even the studying system there is awful. The amount of stress and competition is crazy, mostly in schools though. They even stay in schools till night then go to cram schools. I don't think college life there is as horrible as school though. I think SK is a great place for vacation, shopping...etc but not to study or work unless you're the boss in your job to avoid the slavery and humiliation. I do understand they want their country to get better which I encourage, but not to the point of making the citizens suffer.

I gave it the same rating for the same reasons you mentioned. Some of the ways they solved the issues of the victims kinda pissed me off and some episodes were straight up boring. It's started great then started getting downhill for me. I barely gave a fu*k during last two episodes.

I kinda agree honestly. I didn't like the romance they really didn't have any chemistry. The younger kid actors who played the roles of female lead the escort team leader had a bit of chemistry and were cute though. I didn't mind the past lives stories overall since they helped me understand more about main characters motives and reason they were miserable, but they weren't THAT moving to me. last episodes were the most boring to me.

Honestly only reason I didn't drop this drama is cause Lee Joon Gi is my top Korean actor and I love his character here (Obviously he is nailing the role as usual), but the plot keeps getting more boring, slow, and them giving so much screen time to Hee A and her family issues which I don't give two fucks about to begin with is making it worse for me. I know she is FL, but I don't care about her, I like the reporter girl more though I still don't want romance between them as well. I just want to see the ML doing his revenge stuff already. Why they are dragging this shit to death?! 12 episodes and nothing much is going on...Also most of the character feel hollow to me and they only exist to help ML. First episodes were great, but it went downhill from like episode 5 to me.

Yeah, the younger generations are way more open minded and friendly whether it's about their countries history, LGBTQ+, or foreigners related stuff overall. The older people who are constantly nagging, trying to deny their faults, and can't get over anything.
