Is there any other country on earth that expects the level of saintly perfection from its actors as Korea? And…
This is one of my biggest problems with Korean shows (though Chinese do it too). If someone do it in RL, even if they don't die, they'd be an alcoholic for sure but in dramaland it's a daily routine.
I quite agree with you. I didn't catch child reference but now I think , he does look like a child who only wants…
God bless your sons, though I'm sure they're much more adorable doing that than our manchild here. π€¦π»ββοΈπNo one has shown him affection in his life (perhaps beside NC Chuπ) and his only memory of love is his shifu's dimissive care and teaching. I like his character and hope he returns to the cool guy he was pre ep. 17.
I'm confused about the decision to repeatedly focus on Li Tong Guang's obsessive arc. It's becoming tedious and…
I've got a feeling his paternity would be important later too, the empress told Ruyi the musician died from his injuries but no one knew his name, meaning he probably came with her to An and died there but it's a bit weird they didn't know who he was.
I think about his mother's behaviour there can be several possibilities: she was ashamed of having an illegitimate son by another man, she had fallen in love with the musician and LTG was a sore reminder, she was scared for her life during their journey back to An and it wasn't a love affair but one of those survival one-time things or she'd made a bargain with him and offered herself but got pregnant and couldn't get rid of itπ€
Considering LTG is 22 now and he meet Ruyi 9 yrs ago, he must've been 12,13. Now, I'm not good with guessing childrens' ages but the child actor seems younger to me, maybe 9 or 10π€
It is a totally gila kind of obsession. I give the writer top marks for uniqueness and bottom marks for making…
It happens when drama format is too long and the plot doesn't have enough points to fill it so they have to stretch it out by repetitive storylines and jokes. Story of AJTL is really linear and many mysteries have been wrapped up and finished unless as I said they're going to create a huge conspiracy at the end.
How old is LTG? His feeling towards his sifu, is one of the weirdest obsession. Definitely not how a man has feeling…
I quite agree with you. I didn't catch child reference but now I think , he does look like a child who only wants his mom and calms down asa he sees her. They said it's a romantic feeling so much that even now he believes it himself.

And the plot is collapsing tbh, it's the usual filler unnecessary subplots to fill between the main story. They went through the love story very quickly and the journey to An could only have a bunch of mishaps. Story doesn't have a complex layered plot that would need a lot of elaborating or showing different people with different agendas working on it (unless they're going to make a tangled mess of everything in the 14 remained eps.) Now where does it leave them? Writing an obsession arc that takes 10 eps. And have MC going on different sort of dates several times in every episode until they reach the time for climax.
Well, my own reaction to such characters normally is like "Someone give them a kick already!"π but seems out little Marquis here likes it a bit too much to be put off by it.
Sadly I haven't seen your comment but I quite agree with you, it's everything but romantic. Unlike Ruyi, NYZ is better with words and softer in his trainings as it's obvious from his relationship with his bros so I count on him to knock some sense into LTG. I actually was surprised to see he's not a cliched vengeful powerhungry official and really wants peace, also his cool attitude towards princess Jin Ming seems to have intrigued her but so far they'd turned him into a crazy crybaby with no brain cell whatsoever π€¦π»ββοΈ
I disagree. As I said he's a masochist, I'm not expert but to my unassuming eyes, he seems to connect his shifu with pain, a pain that implies care π€
I don't think belt therapy would work on him, he needs another approach and I just hope someone would do it so we can move on with it.
I've made enough complaints about LTG and how he need some medicine already but I can't help but saying I wish this I-want-my-shifu miniarc wrapped up and done with not only bc of his obsession but bc I'm just tired of this dom/sub relationship. He's a masochist and she was a sadist then and behaves like one now too.
I really don't like watching anymore of these slapping, pushing, mind plays, humilliation, etc acts. They did two of my favourite character dirty by this too long subplotπ
This drama wouldn't bother me half as much if the villains were at least clever. Seeing a bunch of idiotic upstarts winning left and right by the lousiest tricks and lies and all their resources is eavesdropping behind a door is really trying.
I won't expect complex smart villains from a makjang and a daily one at that but even in my little experience I've seen several with really tricky, resourceful and smart baddies so it's not impossible π
Yes, it is attached to the drama under 'episode guide."
Thanks for taking time and answering and sorry for late response, I wanted to check first. ππΉ I don't update unless apps don't work without it or there's major changes so it's not uncommon for me to be out of date.
Now I've updated the app, there are several changes like articles, commenting on feeds and acrive links in comments, etc but drama pages have the same features and there's no photo and episode guide section. (Lack of photo section, episode guide and discussion is difference from the website) so I think maybe one of your VIP features are extra thingsπ€
What even was that?! I would have rather gotten lost in a liminal space than watching this. The entire portion…
HGI was too old. All characteristics and personality aside, a 30 yrs old playing the younger love interest of a 24 yrs old as young looking as they can be isn't believable.
