I think you can be more happy than sad. In this version of KaH the end of the tv show is an essntial part of the story. Talking to Yuzhi like this is his way to never forget him. As long as he thinks of Yuzhi and sometimes talks to him Yuzhi is still kind of alive.

I am happy that it made you laugh. It was fun to write this scene and I made similar experiences with cats I had as pets. Always sitting at the open door when it rains or when it is cold outside and being very indecisive if to get out or not.
