Jiang Mu (FL) didnāt make her life decisions just bcz of her relationship. She wanted to visit Jin Zhao (ML) because she was genuinely worried about him n she also considered studying there. That alone debunks the idea that she had no life outside of him. How's doing a 3 month course in Thailand suddenly a problem? I mean ppl r allowed to go to other countries as well. Exploring new opportunities at 18-19 is completely normal, some do it even earlier. Mu is actually very mature n determined character who knows what she wants. Rather she was against making sacrifices.
Both of Muās parents clearly have flaws. If anything, the father is portrayed as far more unlikeable, especially with his drinking. Thereās no double standard here. The last episode clearly showed y Muās mom divorced him n y her current husband was a better match.
The moment Mu found out about her motherās illness, she dropped everything n went back to take care of her. N Zhao understood her. She wasnāt ready to break up, but she did make it clear that her motherās health was her priority then.
Not a sigle drama is perfect and ofc SAL has flaws. The biggest issue is the editing n some changes from the novel were unnecessary. Like how even Mu's dad didn't want JZ to pursue Mu, the exact reason for Zhao to kept Lightning with him.
N she also gets a license, it's shown in the drama.
