N about a character's maturity, I would say that not ppl of same age might not always have the same level of maturity. This is understandable. But Mumu was actually so mature for a 19yr old. She was firm in her decision n very determined. Yes there were times when she relied on JZ but that was her choice.
N don't we already have tons of serious FL dramas. So can't we the fans of SAL just enjoy Jiang Mu for a change. I mean it's a completely diff story🥹🙌 Having yearning day to night for this type of FLs 🤭🤌😩

I don't think Esther's portrayal of Jiang mu's char was exaggerated. Rather felt more natural than any other chars coz she knew Zhao since birth n had always behaved like that in front of him which is pretty normal. She felt safe to do so. N most of the times we r watching this series from Zhao's pov. To him Mumu is the cutest person evr. But in case of Sang Zhi n Su Zai Zai it was the FL's pov. I like all of the 3 the chars tbh n we shouldn't be comparing them coz diff plot diff FL's character. The plot in SAL required Esther to play Mu's role in this manner n she delivered it. She isn't just 'cute' , she's strong willed, smart n very bold. It's rare to see characters that don't shy away from expressing their feelings. Even irl a lot of girls like to be playful around their lovers while some don't n it's completely fine. We r all different n it's understandable if we all don't behave in the exact same manner. A lot of viewers even admitted that at first their underlying bias made them a bit skeptical of both Esther n Heyu. But eventually ended up loving them.
Ppl(Not talking about u) have this pre conceived notion about Esther that she is "cringe" n other actress r better at playing such roles. But this is not true. She is just as talented. Her performance as Mumu was elevated by subltle and endearing micro expressions. Esther has proved time n again that she is a versatile actor be it serious or cute roles. Same thing happened with her in MJTY, haters said that this serious role is not for her so she should just stick to the cutesy roles. So there's no wining. Gurly gets hated for the simplest reasons.
