Xie Zheng looks like that nosy neighbor who always opens his window to watch his disruptive neighbors’ drama 😂😂. He really enjoys watching the conflicts between neighbors. I love the duality of his character.
I agree with your point and TXW is certainly great in this role. Would like to add that Are You the One also featured…
I hope it will be released this year now that the issue has been resolved 😊. In the meantime, I hope Hidden Shadow will come out after Pursuit of Jade so we’ll have something to watch. Wang Chu Ran always chooses quality projects, so I hope her next drama will satisfy us as well ☺️.
We, Esther Yu’s international fans, demand an explanation regarding iQIYI and Tencent Video. It has come to…
If you have something to say, go complain directly to the platform or under their social media posts. Pursuit of Jade fully deserves its success no one is going to boycott it. The reviews are very positive, and the quality of the drama speaks for itself. Stop always trying to see something negative everywhere and acting like offended fans just because another drama is more popular than your favorite actress’s drama, and because other actors and actresses are standing out more than her. You’re really overreacting 😮💨.

Wait, Fireworks was supposed to have a season 2? 😲 Can you explain the situation a bit? Also, How Dare You was an excellent drama. I had no expectations, yet it turned out to be surprisingly good. I was literally going from laughter to tears between episodes. The drama also had a very pleasant lighthearted side.

It was so funny to watch her struggle to make money just to support her so-called incompetent husband. She was even ready to financially support him so he could achieve his dreams 😂😂. The amnesia arc was the best 😂.
Wang Chu Ran was excellent in this role. I’m also really looking forward to her next drama, Hidden Shadow it looks very promising.
So far, this is the best novel adaptation I’ve seen. The faithfulness to the story, the mood, and the atmosphere are exactly how they should be. I even have to say that, for now, I prefer the drama over the novel. And that says a lot, because Zhu Yu and The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage are the historical novels I’ve reread the most the writing is just so fascinating and smooth.
Being able to hear the background music and the OST makes everything completely immersive.
Can we talk about TXW’s beauty? She’s absolutely stunning. She’s dressed very simply, with almost no accessories, yet she shines so much. Her acting is incredible. The fact that she has a very simple personality and is cute doesn’t infantilize her at all on the contrary, it gives even more charm to her character.
We’re finally moving away from the stereotype of the “strong woman” who masters martial arts and has a cold personality, or the woman who pretends to be a man but still behaves like a woman.
She keeps her femininity without it becoming a weakness, and she doesn’t act like a damsel in distress either, despite her martial arts skills.
She feels like a completely new type of character, and I absolutely love it.
Zhang Linghe is so handsome in this drama he really gives off a truly royal aura 🤭. Luckily the makeup artist didn’t put that terrible orange lipstick on him that seems to be so trendy in historical dramas lately. I still remember his lips in TPR 😂.
Personally, whether he turns bad or not doesn’t really bother me, as long as it makes the plot more thrilling. As…
Personally, I would prefer if they eventually reveal that he is actually bad. His character felt very indecisive and not very memorable. Even the villain (I won’t say the name to avoid spoilers) felt more decisive and better written.
His character gave me the impression of cowardice, and he didn’t really feel useful or important to the story. It would be interesting to see him actually try to fight for Chang Yu or do something truly significant, instead of remaining someone who doesn’t seem to have much personality.
It could also create a surprising twist for us readers and allow a small subplot to develop around this character.
One thing I really loved about the novel is the determination of the characters to follow through with their intentions: Xie Zheng, his uncle, Qi Min… They are all very complex characters, but they remain resolute no matter what their motivations are, whether good or bad.
Even Yu Qianqian is someone who goes all the way and shows unwavering determination.
I’m hoping they would make Li Huai An’s character arc stray a bit from how he ended up in the novel cuz he…
Personally, whether he turns bad or not doesn’t really bother me, as long as it makes the plot more thrilling. As long as Xie Zheng and Chang Yu only have eyes for each other like in the novel, there’s no risk that his one-sided love will harm the story. Sometimes you need a well-written grey character who could tip into the dark side at any moment to make certain plotlines more interesting.
I really hope they kept the scenes where Xie Zheng bites her and she eventually bites him back too 🤭. Lately, I’ve watched so many poorly edited dramas full of inconsistencies that I had almost lost hope that Pursuit of Jade would be any different. But this drama has completely exceeded all my expectations.
The camerawork and editing are absolutely remarkable. I love the angles of the fight scenes, the cinematography, and those masterful slow-motion shots that highlight Zhang Linghe so perfectly.
What a blessing it is, after Legend of Zang Hai, to find another production with such outstanding quality. The lighting work is simply stunning.
I can’t thank the writer and the director enough for giving us such a gem.
The wait is going to be torture, but for a drama of this quality, I’m more than willing to be patient. Visually and story-wise, this drama has delivered on all its promises so far.
How lucky is Xie Zheng! The woman he married is very beautiful, she can cook, and she’s so cute, kind, and brave. She can even lift him and has saved his life several times. She’s a seasoned fighter, so he won’t need to worry about his back in the future because she’ll be the one protecting it. She’s such a loyal person. As a woman, I’m jealous of Xie Zheng my girl has qualities that many men don’t have. No wonder he fell so deeply for her
I love the duality of his character.
