It had been a long time since I came across a drama with such beautiful cinematography. The story immediately draws you in, and the cast is truly excellent.
Every time I see Wen Zheng Rong in a drama, I know she’s going to be amazing. She really has a talent for playing such interesting roles. She always knows how to make us dislike or be suspicious of her characters, and she consistently delivers memorable performances.
Ancy Deng is absolutely gorgeous, and Ding Yu Xi is always so handsome as well. Their acting feels so natural and effortless.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the relationship between a granddaughter and her grandmother. The advice about never putting all your eggs in one basket was conveyed really well.
This secondary couple was my oxygen. Their journey was truly captivating. I need another drama where this actress is once again disguised as a man. Bai Shu Lin is a true queen. 👑

I wonder why she didn't learn martial arts sooner. Based on her memories, she suffered so much and was constantly controlled by others that it would have made perfect sense for her to learn how to defend herself after going through such experiences. Especially since, even as a child living in a living hell, she was constantly trying to eliminate her enemies.
I find it a bit illogical. It was obvious that, in her quest to rise in status and become the voice of true justice, she would constantly be putting herself in danger and that some people would stop at nothing to eliminate her. She knows better than anyone how far those in power are willing to go to achieve their goals.
Ting Hui has always been so fearless that I find it strange she never thought of learning martial arts earlier.
I'm also glad the Emperor didn't save her and that she managed to get out of that situation on her own. She proved that she doesn't need the male lead to come rescue her every single time. That said, it was really infuriating to watch those two guys assault her to that extent.
I love the drama itself. The plot moves forward a little too quickly at times and then slows down, which creates a slight lack of balance. The beginning was also quite difficult for me because I struggled to really get into the story.
The problem with the slow burn is that, in this case, it was maybe a little too slow. For me, it slightly hurt the drama because when the kiss finally happened, I didn’t feel the emotion I was expecting the spark had already faded for me since episode 22.
Hua Yong is a character who can definitely sit at the same table as Sang Mo. He’s in my top 5 because he managed to set a new standard.
It reminded me a bit of POJ halfway through the drama, my passion for the main couple also started to fade. I think that if I had watched this drama all at once, I probably wouldn’t have felt the same way. It’s probably the downside of following a slow burn while it’s still airing. I’ll wait until the drama finishes airing before continuing.

I feel sorry for Han Ming Xi. I hope he only sees her as his idol and doesn’t have any romantic feelings for her, but the way he looks at her makes it seem like it’s love 😩. I would have preferred them to have a sibling-like, brother-sister relationship. His character feels poorly developed.
When I see Ye Li's senior, who's so caring and treats her like family, I can't help but think that everyone at Lishan must have been genuinely kind-hearted. It's no wonder her mind refuses to accept reality. Her entire family is gone, and she most likely witnessed it all herself.
