Chang Yu really has great instincts. When she saw Sui, she immediately knew she couldn’t let him live, otherwise it would cause serious problems. The lesson here is that you must hunt down your enemy and stay on guard until you’ve killed them with your own hands. If you want to relax, you need to at least see the body. Otherwise, you should always assume he’s still somewhere out there plotting against you.

He mainly doesn’t like Bao’er because if he ever manages to ascend the throne, having a son too early would…
Really! He deserves a miserable and painful ending.

Aunt Kang really surprised me: nothing is purely black or white. She had humanity in her, and this final gesture made her character truly meaningful. The most unexpected people can prove to be the most reliable in times of crisis. Her actions for Ning and her grandson clearly came from the heart of a wife, mother, and grandmother who had lost too much and seen her loved ones die or disappear one by one. She chose to leave first to give the children a chance and to avoid, if she survived, carrying the weight of guilt, grief, and loss. Her character was given an incredible arc for her final appearances.

It was clearly just an excuse to justify his thirst for power. All his lies and the sacrifices he made to gain power showed that it was nothing but an excuse. Bao’er represented a threat to the power he wanted in his hands. The worst part is that Bao’er was also the person Qian Qian loved the most. His twisted mindset made him believe that by getting rid of him, he could later have another child with Qian Qian, whom they could both love, and that Qian Qian might eventually fall in love with him. A truly madman 😮‍💨.

This is something written in the novel, its the excuse Qi Min has for hating his own son- https://x.com/caislinghe/status/2032278321568886999?s=20
He mainly doesn’t like Bao’er because if he ever manages to ascend the throne, having a son too early would be a threat for him. For a sickly person like him, the ministers and others might want to kill him to seize the throne and turn the child into a puppet, rather than having a dominant king who can’t be manipulated. He’s a monster, but this reasoning makes more sense than it seems royalty works like that. A man like him would prefer to have a child very late, to protect his own interests.

I can't even begin to imagine what Qian Qian must feel...she really is a very strong woman😢
For sure! It’s truly a miracle that she managed to escape that madman. It shows how intelligent and determined she is: she devised ways to defend herself, survive, and keep her son out of danger. She may not know how to fight, but she’s a true warrior

I didn’t watch it to keep the surprise, but in the novel, he doesn’t go blind.

Each episode is better than the last it's crazy how good this drama is. I’m not sorry, but anyone who doesn’t like this drama has terrible taste.

Poor Qian Qian she spent all those years running from that monster, and now her worst nightmare has become reality. And Bao’er having to learn that his father is that psychopathic madman who put a knife to his throat to force his mother… that’s truly traumatic.

Did I read the novel? YESDid I know what madman Qi Min was? YESDid Qi Min being played by Deng Kai, made me expect…
The more handsome, evil, and unsettling he is, the more I enjoy watching him… which will make his tragic ending even more satisfying 😊😂.

When Qi Min said, “Our family of three is finally reunited 🥰,” it was supposed to be a dark, tense moment, but I burst out laughing. This guy is completely insane dude, one second earlier you had a knife to the child’s throat, and now you’re smiling. A really well-written villain, a complete psychopath.

gave me goosebumps!!! I feel like its a symbolic scene showing a significant step of CY on her journey to being…
She went from a girl who trembled at the thought of killing to a woman ready to kill to protect. The determination in her eyes, without any hesitation, was incredible.

He’ll always be obsessed with our girl. He’s just using Shisan Niang and her brother anyway 😂.
