I have a few recommendations. They’re not exactly what you’re looking for, but they’re really good novels.
The Marquis Is Innocent: really good. A political marriage that turns into a powerful love between two intelligent characters, with plenty of tension and war. A very good read. Transmigrated as the Princess Consort of a Fallen Nation: a very good novel, you’ll see. There’s war, a smart female lead, and a male lead skilled in martial arts. The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage: you absolutely have to read this masterpiece. The Long Ballad: it also has a drama adaptation. Return of the Male Phoenix: very political, with a bit of enemies-to-lovers. Very interesting. Border Camp Little Cook: by the same author as Chasing Jade. These are my favorite historical novels.
I only critcised because this is a wrong message. Y should a woman submit herself to escape from the villian.…
You’re pretending not to understand: the more she acts submissive, the less he harms Bao’er. This man is capable of beating this child right in front of her just to get a reaction. He only shows a bit of restraint because she’s showing submission.
If she had decided to die, he would have tortured the child to death. And if she had been determined not to obey him, he would have cut her into pieces just to make her react. Don’t you see that he’s a psychopath who doesn’t hesitate to kill anything he deems useless? If she didn’t care about her son, he would have already killed him and found other ways to exert pressure.
By showing submission, she’s buying time to find an opening and keeping her son alive. He might be psychologically affected, but at least he stays alive. Think about it 🙄.
Some people criticize Qian Qian for “submitting,” but this woman managed to hide herself and her son for six years. She opened a business and even created defensive tools to protect herself. She has always been resilient in protecting her child, even though his father is a monster.
This woman wants to live and make sure her son survives. No one wants to die death means the end. An “honorable death” serves no purpose, because once you’re dead, you can’t protect anyone or try to change anything anymore.
Qian has no martial skills, yet the fact that she managed to escape that man is already courageous. Trying to survive and change things, no matter what methods have to be used meven questionable ones takes real courage.
Someone also pointed out Chang Yu’s “courage” for choosing death over submission. What nonsense. She was cornered and didn’t even have time to think if she had died, what would have happened to Ning? Who would have protected her?
Thankfully she didn’t die. Don’t compare things that aren’t comparable.
My couple better get some hot scenes and some really spicy kisses too. Linghe needs to remind everyone why he’s called the king of kisses no compromises 😂. That scene between Chang Yu and the group was really touching.

After this kiss, he’s going to take back the number one spot in the ranking of the best kissers 🥵. Liu Yuning is going to be dethroned, and Linghe will take his place again 😆.
After this drama, nothing will feel good enough anymore. What a tragedy! We’re going to spend our time comparing this masterpiece to every other drama that hasn’t even come out yet, and if the cinematography, the writing, or the editing are even slightly sloppy, we’ll just feel disappointed 😂. This drama has set the bar insanely high for all the others 🥲.
Sui Yuanqing is completely insane. He literally opened his arms for a hug right after sending that girl’s brother to be killed 😂😂. He’s seriously unhinged. Then when she slapped him, he just smiled before hitting back and picked Ning up like a sack of potatoes. And since he clearly has no life, he even went to find a snake just to scare a child, and he was laughing about it. This guy is so evil, unhinged, and shameless that everything he does his personality, his gestures, his expressions looks funny and entertaining, even though he’s committing the worst acts.
