I think (if I remember correctly) that she does end up with SWL. This is probably why I didn't mark my comment as a spoiler before- because who the SML is in this show depends on your perspective. So my comment would be slightly confusing.
That is the whole point of his character. He is a arrogant jerk who's life takes him down a dark path toward humility…
And I feel like his brand of jerk is more childish entitlement than evil and destructive. While he comes of as quite an douche, he treats the people around him quite well in a tsundere kind of way and does grow throughout the show.
Lmao kdrama writers don’t know how to “do” sad endings unfortunately, 9/10 the lead comes back to life and…
I feel like it is rare for kdramas (disregarding the very serious ones or crime drama etc.) to even try a sad ending as it just wouldn't fit the tone or the stories they tell. And mostly I agree with their choices - it is really really hard writing a sad ending the general audience would be satisfied with. I think most prefer a slightly forced happy ending to a sad one.
So I don't know if they are good at doing well made sad endings or not. The only one I can think of watching is Marriage Contract, and I really liked that ending. But that was such a different drama compared to this one.
Well, we'll see where they take the story in the next couple of episodes. It is impossible to tell based on just the first two what they are thinking.
I'm not sure I'd want the whole world to die along with her (though I don't think that'd be possible anyway due…
Well, I know - her wish dooming the whole world to die along with her is a bit too hard core ;) but definitely a melancholic ending would be suitable for this story. I mean, can you picture a perfectly happy ending given the heavy themes and mood of this story? The story had such a strong start that I'm simultaneously super excited to see what is next and scared that they won't be able to pull it off.
I didn't like the original kdrama but the pairing of these actors... Man how could I not watch? Still powering through it though I think the pacing is a bit off - nothing happened yet between them yet by ep.4 the ML is rushing out of his office to her rescue? Oh well, Jasper Liu makes up for the shortcomings in the plot so far ;)
Weirdly for once I kind of feel like I want a "sad" ending. Like her granting him the wish of doom to the world thereby enabling him to end it and then she dies along with him and the rest of the world. Usually I'm not at all a fan of the endings where people dies or don't end up together but in this one... I don't know I was just struck by a beautiful tragedy mood I guess ^^
I’ve never seen an agency that publishes pay to read novels. Like wouldn’t you just wait until the whole thing…
I've never done it personally but a lot of my Asian novels translation sites I read online have the option to pay for advance readings of the chapters. Its not quite the same but if people willingly pay per chapter for the translated version I can see the same thing happening for the original novels.
I have patience in spades but lack in funds so I don't pay for the advance ones. But when I looked up one novel which do it this way the cost was: 3 advance chapters 1$, 6 advance chapters 5$, and 9 advance chapters 10$. Though keep in mind one "chapter" is only about 700 words or 1.5 A4 pages.
Some of the novels I've encountered have like over 2000 "chapters" and their set up and plotlines are quite serial and similar to a manga. So to me it makes sense that there is a business model for novel similar to the manga world.
I put this as a spoiler since the answer is quite long and a bit off topic for those not interested in my answer ;)
Well... I would caution that while it can absolutely be seen as happy it isn't totally happy and some would probably not see it that way. Just a heads up.
I probably should have seen it coming but this turned into one of those high school - separated for years - reunion dramas... (I think, when I got that far I got such anxiety I turned it off, so correct me if I'm wrong). OK drama but really nothing special other than the interesting dynamics of step families and complicated pasts. The ML acting wasn't really my cup of tea
Either the digraced VP or Yong Jie - he said he would help Li Cheng get Mu Ren, and it worked. He's sort of the…
While I doubt its Yong Jie when I read your comment my immediate reaction was "huh. yeah that might make sense, would be a fun twist". Probably not though since it was so clearly portrayed as an aggressive action and I think if it was Yong Jie they would frame it differently.
I google translated it and edited the summary. Doesn't make a lot of sense but at least its about animals and…
I usually don't edit so am a bit unsure of how it works when I tried to add the Indonesian summary, so for those of you who understand:
"Gu Haoxuan, pemipin SD Group, menjadi seorang pekerja di taman hewan Cheng Ning Nang berulang kali karena anjing peliharaannya. Dengan bantuan anjingnya"Pluto" lagi dan lagi, Gu Haoxuan perlahan jatuh cinta dengan gadis lancang itu. Drama ini akan memperlihatkan bagaimana petugas taman hewan itu melawan pemimpin dan menjadi hal yang akan menghangatkan hati pemimpin grup SD"
