How is this a 2020 show when it hasn’t even aired yet? I saw character (poster) photos for this on Reddit today…
Blame the pandemic. Many dramas scheduled for 2020 release were shelved because of production lockdowns but now studios and stars returning to them for release in 2025 and beyond. Next year is going to be best of what was shelved plus regular programming. Maybe also why 2024 has been a bit of a wasteland as they had a lot of half-finished productions on top of regular programming for completion this year. I could be absolutely wrong but that’s my best guess. Bring on 2025!
This was too real. You’ll feel joy, frustration, spite and uncomfortable watching it. I thought it was beautifully written with outstanding performances. I loved how it took the traditional ‘evil other women’ trope and allowed us to see a drama with her as the FL (regular drama would’ve had little sister as lead) in all her selfish, manipulative and ruthless glory! Lovely to see a complex, deeply flawed character like her in a cdrama. She deserved someone who could match her and she got it in the ML. Kisses were a bit awkward and I wish we could’ve seen another episode of the happy ending so we felt confident they’d make it work this time but I’m so glad I watched it. 8.5/10.

So fun! I love where the romance is slow burn and the couple have to go through A LOT to be together. My only gripe would be that the kisses were lame (brief lip touch) when the rest of the production was so beautifully directed. 8/10.

Using the red string of fate myth in this way is so heartfelt. I’m loving all the secondary characters too (the beggar fortune teller especially) and their madcap attractions. I’ve laughed so much and only on ep7. I’ll watch this one so fast!
Cute concept that had a very clever script in a lot of ways but it needed more conflict for 24eps. They fall in love too quickly and being all happy after that isn’t great drama. Yawn. There should have been more secrets between them. Jiu Liu Overlord was better. Also, why write a drama that’s about the joy of sensuality in touch, taste, feeling and then avoid really greedy kisses? There’s so much hugging. Maybe kisses were censored for being too delicious…! Had to drop after 9eps but ML is going to be the next top star for real. He’s astonishingly talented.
Very fun but all the side characters had better chemistry than the leads. Weird to make it so suggestive then have no steamy moments at all. One lame kiss that felt very unrealistic does not count. You’ll wait a long time for them to get together too. I wish this had been a lot better.
I agree with you about the kiss scenes. But I will point out that the lead actor was only 19/20 when he filmed…
Sure but actors who play FLs know exactly how to kiss - they must do in their own lives - they just aren’t allowed to show any wanting or desire because she might not need the ML to ‘show her the way’. Pah. I would love to see more FLs who the directors allow to express their needs more honestly without being a villain. That said, cdramas have been better this year on this point. It might be western perspective but I’m deeply worried that falling birth rates might be because everyone (especially women!) in Asia is not allowed to do anything that might make a 👶 It can’t be a western thing for a woman to want to kiss the man you’re falling in love with, can it? Why do they need to be reluctant, uneasy or forced into it? I know I’m overthinking but still 🤷♀️

Agreed! Intimacy of two people in love and the drama is so much better for it. I wish all the other creators would take note. That office kiss scene was ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Clever concept based on a misunderstanding. Exciting leads with chemistry. Neat performances. LAME, fake, stilted kisses. Censorship wins. Why make a romance if what you really want to write about how games are made by a bunch of students with no experience? As soon as they got together (who could tell tho because they never touched each other) this lost all tension and I skipped through final episodes.
