Here's a couple of well written adult (even slightly dark) dramas that you might like:https://kisskh.at/726339-tell-me-it-s-lovehttps://kisskh.at/62093-human-disqualification
Loved the story and the way they teased it all out to the very end but the kisses were rubbish. Weird frozen lip locks that totally destroy your belief in romance.
Colour me surprised! Bumpy start with first few eps (thanks to very low budget) but after ep5 it becomes something so good! The writing really picks up. I loved the way they teased out the emotional conflict and the ML’s believable struggle to accept how he felt. FL and grandpa were solid in support. Kid was super cute. I’d love to see this team get a bigger budget and produce another drama starring the ML. This writer/director knows the job! Reminded me a lot of The Love You Give Me and Unforgettable Love.
If the main conflict can be solved by the couple leaving everyone else behind that’s not enough drama to sustain 24 episodes and it shows. Why wasn’t there a bigger reason why they couldn’t hook up once she decided to leave her terrible relationship? They just moaned to each other about the circumstances but never did anything to help themselves out of it. The Koreans did it so much better. I dropped after 14 so it might have improved but I doubt it. I wanted to love it and I thought all the performances were wonderful (especially her family and the ML) but the writing was poor. I found the translations on Viki really clunky/ confusing too because it wasn’t clear what they were referring to half the time or the context was lost. Desperately I want more adult dramas like this with more intelligent writing.
Such a comforting drama! I haven’t seen performances and writing this good since Hometown Cha and I loved how the story blended a sports romance with corruption and undercover investigation. Reminded me a lot of what I loved about Weightlifting Fairy and Fight for My Way. Intrigue is just enough but doesn’t hinder the romance or fabulous cast of quirky local characters! I wish there were more kissses but otherwise just so cosy.
These two had really great chemistry but the show basically cut most of those scenes and only released some tidbits.…
😩 why do they ruin dramas in this way. I feel sorry for the actors because shows would be so much more viral if kisses were allowed to stay as written/performed.
Proper kisses for a change! Real intimacy, sweetness and romance between the main couple which wasn’t derailed by any annoying side characters. Engaging performances. It was steamy but not too much. I would happily rewatch this one endlessly. Why can’t all cdramas be written and directed like this one?!
This just killed my desire to watch the show!!!Once you are a veteran viewer .. a modern sizzling romance drama…
Will do! Thanks again. Really didn’t like Love is Sweet (I don’t like the ML - he creeps me for some reason) so I won’t watch TTEOTM but the rest are on my list! I thought Only for Love was surprisingly steamy (Dylan Wang ❤️) but the scriptwriting was 🤦🏼♀️so I skipped a lot of it. My fav has to be Here We Meet and The Love You Give Me of Late. They were well-written romance with quality kisses. I’m about to dive into Derailed this week - wish me luck 😁

Curious to hear which are your top three cdramas for kisses?
I’d never expect HBO levels of heat 😂 but I’d love to know if I’m missed some good kisses in dramas. I really liked ones in Kunning Palace this year. Their chemistry was 🔥🔥

I’d still say watch it as it is one of the better written stories - just don’t expect any heat. It’s a stand out for me on clever use of sound effects and I did find that enjoyable. Not sure Chinese dramas will ever have any real steam but we can still enjoy some of them anyway.
Some very clever writing here and delicious characters. Only a few brief lip-touch kisses with no passion or energy which is really disappointing when the rest of the tension is handled so well. That said, I binged it in two days because they keep you waiting for those last few episodes to resolve the drama. I hate storylines where all the conflict is sorted too soon and the rest is just writers treading water to the final episode. If kisses had been more passionate (and more of them!) this would’ve been a 10/10 for me. If you liked Jiu Liu Overlord, you’ll love this one.
Dropped after two eps but I’d try again if Viki released it
That’s not enough for me though. It’s all Google translate which isn’t helpful. Such a shame they can’t do proper translations because this looked like a great show!
Fascinating how clumsy one FL can be. I really wanted to like this show but it’s like she’s only just learned to use a human body and might still need training wheels 🙄Everything she touches ends up dropped in water (ring, camera, laptop etc) 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️It’s very annoying. ML’s secret identity is so laughable that I’m having a hard time taking him at all seriously.
I’m at episode 13 and I have actually dropped the show twice and tried to pick it back up due to being a huge…
I skipped my way through the rest but it didn’t improve. I’m amazed that they got away with so many steamy scenes in last three eps as there’s normally so much censoring. I gave it a generous 7.5 in the end.
Reached episode 13 but I’m finding this quite hard going. I really hate tension that relies on conflicts of misunderstanding that could be solved with one honest conversation. Obvs watching for both leads as they are always fun but I really wish the writing was better (hardly any dramatic tension) and all characters had more complexity. FL’s character is super naive for a journalist (professional people watchers!) and ML’s character is frustratingly shy - why doesn’t he just talk to her?! I guess they’re both meant to be in their 20s only but still. I’ll watch it on fast forward and hope it improves. Loads of better dramas elsewhere. Fake It Until You Make It was better writing and had a lot more to say about work and relationships imo. What a shame.
My kind of hero. A bad man who’ll bring you the heads of your enemies in a bag and then ask if there’s anything else you need. Fabulously hot (like proper adults in love) kisses here too. Cdrama writing has really come a long way this year! More please.
I’m finding this so much in otherwise very romantic dramas. So disappointing. We should be given a way to rate dramas for heat of kisses. Most of us watch romance for the tension but also these scenes (let’s be honest!)
