In episode 5 , I catch some arabic words in the hospital and in the street. π πIt's ok, but if you follow tennis or basketball, you could hear Novak Djokovic and Nikola JokiΔ speak Serbian. π But the voice in show was really not that clear...as I said that fraze was used in a cartoon...same words. π

Serbian language has just 12M speakers in the world (we're one little country in Balkan). It's really a small number, for first. Not to mention they even presented it as 'Eastern country ' main language...yet on the street you can't hear anything similar. Not to mention pronunciation while they (statists) speak English. Definitely nothing can't connect with Serbian. Just whole picture doesn't match. I can feel the idea comes from Bosnian war from the 90s , because of ethnical diversity of refugees...yet even tho we speak the same language, pronunciation is totally different. But this isn't the first time Chinese mentioned Serbia in their soap operas, some were even filmed in Belgrade (capital city).

You're welcome. I haven't seen those comments questioning about the language, but I'm happy I could help.
I see.... everything feels to have some sort arabic, style and interior, touch. I couldn't zoom some spots to see what's written on the walls. But using Serbian language on the flee market somehow doesn't match . Specially old woman voice.
I am currently on episode 4. The granny who sold FL the seeds speaks Serbian language (that's my first language). At first I wasn't sure if I hear it right or it's in my head πΉ Cause it's confusing sometimes... listening Chinese, titles are in English and I automatically translate it to Serbian. Anyway, for the record, all her speech was taken from a cartoon character, but it fits great in the story.
Do we know where that 'East Country' is? Do they mention it in the novel?
I came to read spoilers about today's episode (21) . So fingers crossed π€π» JCY will spot her tomorrow.I'm trying my best to not watch today's episode cause I can't wait and suffer until tomorrow π
I just can't feel sorry for ShengYi. She decided for herself, even though MuDan showed her how life can be nice, peaceful and prosper . I only feel sorry for MuDan, she will get hurt for helping others and of course Liu family will take a piece of cake in all this. Hope all her suffering won't take long and JCY will be back soon.
