I still grieve. Thank you for those who willing to discussed about this drama and its unsatisfactory ending. You've…
Have you tried Love All Play? It gives the same vibes as 2521. It has sports too, they play badminton. And the ML is so charming here. He reminds me of Yijin too - just a happier version. The couple is also really adorable. The drama itself has some angst and more coming but I'm almost sure it will have a better ending! As of now, it has helped bring some cheer, for sure.
IMHO, the drama itself owes KTR and NJH potrayal as HD and YJ. Maybe with that writing, if the characters played…
It was in a video clip when he said to stop speculation on Yijin's death. I think some of his friends or some celebrities (not sure) were asking him about what happened to Yijin too.
I have no idea where these suicide theories are coming from. And while I'm all for theories. I have to say this is one theory that has to stop. Please have respect and value for a person's life.. no matter how depressed or worthless life may seem, suicide is not the way to go for Yijin or for anyone else. Taking one's life is not the answer when there is so much more worth and beauty in life. Please remember that.

Yeah you're right and I agree that this drama showed a lot of contradiction. It was so unlike Heedo and Yijin not to talk out their issues when they were able to handle minor issues previously. Heedo shutting off and not remembering her memories of that summer and her friends doesnt make sense either. The biggest plot hole for me is the signage. That's just one giant block of wood that points out Heedo didn't forget. There's no way that writer can convince me she moved on from her past or that she was fine and forgot what happened with Yijin when she deliberately made that signage for her shop years after they parted ways.
The writer must think the audience are dimwits not capable of logical and critical thinking. It's rather insulting if the writer thought that the viewers would be fine and accept this kind of writing like the way it was presented. But to me, the way this turn out was make Heedo look stupid and a cheater because she actually looks like she's still stuck in the past. Looking back, we also saw how Heedo and Yijin behaved during their TV interview. Heedo getting married in a rush then makes comments about divorce is silly and insensitive. I'm not even sure what the writer was trying to show us with these details. It only makes Heedo look bad. And that's not how we know Heedo would behave. As I said, too many contradictions.

So base from all these info, is it it being implied then that she was divorced? Some of the things the happy ending group is saying is that Heedo was not unhappy and therefore not divorced. I dont know what they thought of the signage though coz they seem to brush it off. Maybe some people are okay when their spouses do such things?? It's really puzzling. I mean, i understand that the writer wanted to write a story about them breaking up and such. At least make it consistent and not show us confusing details like her shop's name and thus making the character look like a cheater or someone who lacks moral backbone who doesnt even respect her husband.
I find it strange too that she doesnt talk about her friends. Or that she has lost contact with all of them. Even Yurim.
You know I just realized what's funny now, when her mom said she saw Yijin, it seems like she's trying to bring them back together! Her mom seems to like him. She was the one who refered him to be her replacement in the TV news. Maybe her mom knows the meaning behind the shop's name so she's hoping they would reconcile. LOL

She created the shop after she retired. The name is really weird. And also disrespectful to her husband. Maybe it is understandable to have old pictures or letters in a box or in the attic somewhere. But one does not make a signboard of their first love and display it in public.
They could've shown Heedo having a phone conversation with her husband, at least. She can say something like she misses him or that she cant wait for his return so they can have a date or something.
It really isn't surprising that there were divorce theories too.
NJH says that YJ is not dead lol. He wasnt shown in 2021 but he’s definitely not dead.
I'm pretty sure people would've been satisfied too if we saw a current Yijin. They didnt have to be together in the end, people would've accepted that. Instead, we got a silly first love password reset scene.
NJH says that YJ is not dead lol. He wasnt shown in 2021 but he’s definitely not dead.
@ABC adding to thematchabun's explanation, it seems likely that it could be from 2015-2017 which coincides with the time he left for NY during 9/11.
It can't be when he became announcer because that happened around 2008. The timeline showed he got back "7 years later". 2008 + 15yrs would make it 2023.
But really who knows when exactly this epilogue was. It wasn't even necessary. It was just more mockery from the writer. The point is, we were not shown Yijin in the current timeline.

So true. Like i wrote above, KTR's performamce (and by effect, NJH as well) elevated the drama and made it more beautiful than how it was written. In reality, the drama has a lot of inconsistencies, plot contrivance and character deviations. It seems the writer wrote too many details for her story but forgot how to tie them well together. The drama title alone is controversial. It's cringey how that title was elaborated that Heedo even makes a wood signage out of it.
NJH says that YJ is not dead lol. He wasnt shown in 2021 but he’s definitely not dead.
Well, thank you for clarifying that Yijin wasn't shown in 2021. Some people need to react more kindly when they can't even get their facts straight.
We know NJH said Yijin did not die. But since there are a lot of dissatisfied viewers making up fanfics, it seems understandable the theories would go on. There are fanfics where Minchae does not even exist just like our absentee Mr Kim. LOL
Wtf man, they even showed YiJin in present 2021 version at last. Drama is completed, better to stop these theories!…
What 2021 version of Yijin do you mean?? He wasnt shown in the current timeline??
It was 2009 when he came back as a TV anchor and 2015(?) when he reset his lost password.
Also, fans can still discuss and are discussing about the drama until now. Many have made their own theories and already wrote fanfics after the show ended. You'd be surprised at what can be altered in those fanfics. I don't see why you have to police people from doing that.
What is there to love about it? No closure to anything. The ending more felt like the writer wanted to mock us.
Couldn't have said it better myself. The 2521 signage of her shop, that 2009 TV interview, Hee Do's comments about divorce as a newly married woman still creeps me out whenever I think about it.
Seriously, I wonder how exactly a spouse would feel if their wife or husband did something like that.
Much deserved win for KTR, congratulations! Even though I hated how the writer did dirty to Yi Jin and Hee Do, it can't be denied that KTR's performance elevated the drama to a higher level.
I have to say I sighed with relief that the drama itself didn't get the win. I was scared someone would mess up the polling choices and tick off a win for the drama too. Such a catastrophic incident that would be. Imagine the writer and the fans who blindly profess to love the ending getting validated for such higgledy-piggledy manuscript.
It's because both male characters are written as endearing guys giving support and encouragement to the female…
Exactly! All it needed was just a few minutes to show what happened instead of leaving the viewers frustrated and dissatisfied. The end part was not executed well.
It's because both male characters are written as endearing guys giving support and encouragement to the female…
In a simple explanation, the writer wanted to show how first love doesn't last so the characters had to break up. Unfortunately, it was at the cost of the characters behaving oddly, that is, not in sync with what we were shown from the start. That end ruined what could've been a great drama.
I don't know why people are comparing this drama with 2521 like 2521 was whole different drama the only thing…
It's because both male characters are written as endearing guys giving support and encouragement to the female lead. They also try to do the "right" thing and calling out what is wrong with others' behavior.
Both dramas also have scenes of a "water fountain" and leads meeting during a snowfall. 🙂🙃
If the writing is consistent until the end for Tae Jun's character, I may end up liking him more than Baek Yi Jin. Tbh, I didn't like the way writer derailed the characters at the end for Yi Jin and Hee Do
It's frustrating when the cast gave top notch performance. It's the writing that failed to stick the landing.
