They don't know the ex cheated but they think it is his fault that the wedding was canceled that is why their…
Her family and friends donโt know he cheated. And it seems she didn't confront him about it either. Sheโs taking the blame for it and he thinks he did nothing wrong and tries to win her back. Iโm curious to see if there will be more revealed later.
I have a lot of thoughts about Seung-hyo's mom so it's impossible to write them all. But let me talk about a less-mentioned…
Agree with all you said. I wonder if itโs a misdirect, are we being misled into thinking the obvious when it is not how it really seems. Her backstory intrigues me. Her prayer wishes that she wrote on the roof tile implies something really deep that affected the family. Something she couldnโt even share with her best friends.
If you will watch closely, you will find that the part where the soy sauce thing is important in the realization…
Good observation on the doenjang. I'm looking forward to the fermentation in their feelings and relationship of 20+ years which will culminate in a (hopefully) satisfying conclusion in 5 weeks ๐
This feels like a straight up romcom but I am still bitter over 2521 so dramas can surprise us
That writer deliberately baited viewers with crumbs despite the melancholic vibes, imo. I'm confident this writer will not be taking the same route. At most, we'll have family issues, some heartbreaking twist maybe. But nothing morbid. The vibe is different here.
I also really love the family stuff here. Dad getting scammed and the kids all coming to fix it, the breadcrumbs…
I like that we're not getting some fabricated "perfect moms and dads" where everything is sunshine and roses but that they have their own insecurities and flaws too. It really makes them more authentic. And how the 2nd ML said he felt like he belonged in the neighborhood. That sort of describes them, in a sense.
Not sure what you mean by stiff but I think Hae In's character is supposed to be more subdued and laid-back compared…
Really glad to know! I'm loving all the characters here which is a little surprising for me. And the angst!!! It's gonna get more angsty too next episodes with another ex coming ๐๐
Ep 5 was the best. I donโt get why everyone is calling it boring. Maybe I love slow paced friends to lovers…
I love slow burn too ! I like that they're showing us little scraps of them going through their feelings. I think there's bound to be an explosive eruption of pent-up decades-old emotions. Haha. Also, I normally don't care about 2ndary leads or the parents but here I love how each character have their own nuanced layer.
3 scenes that really stood out to me- seungho plastering a smile on his face before meeting seokryu and moeum…
Love what you wrote. Those scenes with SH were really emotional for me. I think people are judging SH too harshly when his reactions are just very real and feels genuine, rightly or wrongly. He's trying to deal with his feelings too at the same time not wanting to pressure SR. She hasn't revealed to anyone but he's perceptive enough to know what really happened to SR. Not sure if there is more to the scene between SR and MoEum when SR said "she still loves him". I don't think MoEum would be asking to see her wedding photos if she knew that SR's ex cheated on her. So, I feel that if there's anyone who would be able to let SR reveal everything, it would be SH. And she really needs to let those pent-up emotions out because keeping that huge traumatic issue all bottled up inside, taking the blame for it when it's not her fault, is just not healthy.
Acting sadly still feels stiff to me ... Jung Hae In is one of my choosen ones, Jung So Min has never been splendid…
Not sure what you mean by stiff but I think Hae In's character is supposed to be more subdued and laid-back compared to So Min's character. If it's about the comedic parts, their dynamic reminds me somewhat of his character in D.P. He was also the more subdued partner to his co-star and their interactions were my favorites. I'll admit it took me awhile to get used to the bickering here and to me, they shine more in the quieter moments. However, by the end of episode 2, at the playground scene, I knew I was a goner and I wanted to know more of their past and how they would navigate through their feelings moving forward. Hope it gets better for you too! ๐
doesnโt anyone think that little girl is the journalists daughter ? (the man with his glasses i forgot his name)…
It's very likely that Journalist is the father. And he's a single dad. There is a social stigma for single parents in Korea. That may explain why he was evasive in saying where he lives because that would lead to more personal questions. MoEum's mom was also about to say something when she got cut off by the phone ringing. And the kid herself said "my dad told me not to talk to strangers". If he were the uncle and the kid's guardian, I think he has no reason to hide that info?
This! Thank you so much for saying this. I can speak 5 languages to varying degree and learnt English from a very…
"No language or individual is above anyone in the world."
This reminds me of those who go to another country to work and think they're above everyone just because they have acquired that European or American "twang". I come from a country where English is not our first language so I've seen a few people like this.
Can't speak for everyone, but personally, I'm not gonna let some minor issue like an actor's lack of english speaking ability or some incredible plot device ruin this drama. I'm just gonna dial up my suspension of disbelief a notch or two and move on.
I don't care about nitpicking every little detail as long as the main characters are not creepy or sleazy. Besides, isn't it tiring on one's mental health to constantly complain about everything? ๐ซฃ I like both Hae-In and Somin and I think they're both matched equally well in all aspects including the acting front and personality-wise. So, yeah, I intend to enjoy this drama and this pairing at the maximum level.
We got till episode 6 for SH's POV. Then we'll have SR's POV. So, episode 11 or 12 sounds about right.
Or i could be wrong, too ๐๐
