I'm not really sure how to describe this. The comedy is a little crass and the operatic BGM is strangely mesmerizing. Its tone is a bit different from Bossam and I don't really care for the Palace shenanigans. I do like the spunky heroine and the way her personality contrasts with the ML. Keeping fingers crossed this will be entertaining till the end.
Why is no one talking about 19 year-old Im Sol birthday gift to Tae Sung? It was so cute and hilarious. My good…
Sol's so unpredictably chaotic. You just dont know what to expect from her. She's cringe and adorable at the same time! Her personalized milk song reminds me of that baby shark song that you just can't shake off your head once you hear it š
Guys, I think this Kdrama won't be released worldwide, it's a shame, I really want to watch it
Ughh it's a shame it won't be widely available, guess it'll be the "unofficial" sites for some viewers. On the bright side, the show has possibility of eventually ending up on Netflix in a few month's time after its run, especially if it gets rave reviews or popular requests.
When they put on the tagline "comedy", they weren't joking. The monk in disguise was hilarious!
This has all the ingredients of what I find enjoyable in a show. Heartwarming, funny and a sprinkling of mystery. With an OST playlist that's going to be on endless repeat. Really loving it!
Also the acting they both can act as the greenest flags ever but also can do angst really well, I think they couldn't…
Definitely a combination of good writing and good performance needs to go together. Both leads are suited for their roles as far as the first episode goes. It's also a plus that their characters can make viewers empathize with their situation from the get-go. And thankfully, their characters aren't those types that grate on our nerves!
Thought this would be a light watch but there are issues that are actually more deep and serious than it looks. However, thanks to clever writing, the seriousness doesnāt bring down the show. This pairing is a bit unconventionally cuteā the obvious one being their height difference! Canāt wait to see what happens in the next episodes.
I canāt resist this particular time period. And moreso within Koreaās historical context. The writer would…
Oh you may want to give CT a try then. It wasnāt a sad ending per se because all ended well and had an uplifting mood overall even though it was still gut wrenchingš itās hard to explain without giving away spoilers but I enjoyed it. It had some good songs and tracks too that I ended up listening for days afterwards and still do now every once in awhile.

That may be one reason. But I think Mr Sunshine set made it more possible now (?) as they built an expansive one for that including railway tracks. I may be wrong, but Song of the Bandits look really similar with some few renovations. I remember there were a few good sets within this time period before Mr Sunshine, such as Chicago Typewriter and Different Dreams. Oops, I just checked and Different Dreams came after Mr Sunshine.
I just realized this drama was written by the same screenwriter as Dr. Romantic! I love her Dr. Romantic dramas.…
I canāt resist this particular time period. And moreso within Koreaās historical context. The writer would make it one more plus for me! I donāt like horror in the paranormal sense but I think I can handle monster stuff if itās something along the lines of Alien. Iām in the mood for suspense this time as I think Iāve shed enough tears already in CAD šš
It's a gigantic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. š»I bet many won't get the reference without a search engine.
Lol. I had to chuckle at that knowing exactly what you meant. Though I had more an image of Ripleyās Alien in mind for this particular creature. Iām looking forward to the suspense adventure.
The episode 11 kiss that we all waited for and loved. On second viewing, he does nothing. She runs to him. She…
My 2 cents on this. I think itās actually in line with their characters. Even as kids, Kiho has always been the reserved one while Mokha is more outgoing. She was usually the one leading him. Where she goes, heāll follow so I was not surprised she initiated the kiss.
As for that rooftop scene, I think I can understand them acting like a married couple just like Kihoās parents. They arenāt really the touchy-kissy-feely types. So growing up in that kind of environment, I guess going by Kihoās parents as example, they will not be kissing too much in public. People can express love differently and in different ways.
Regarding Woohak, I was actually glad that Mokha verbally confirmed for him (and by extension, the audience) that he was really just like an older friend/brother to her. And as usual, by Woohakās stubborn nature, he refuses. At this point, I donāt really care. Both Kiho and Mokha have confessed and affirmed their feelings. And she has been straightforward with Woohak. If heās being too stubborn about it, then I hope he at least takes responsibility for his choices and not blame other people for it. Or be a burden to others with his feelings, you know. Sorry to be blunt, but that scene showed how his character didnāt progress going by his stubborn and selfish behavior.
This dramaās ability to draw out a horde of emotions is one of its greater strengths. The ability of the writer to have the viewer empathize with the characters, to get frustrated or to cheer for them and then to share in their triumphs. The optimistic feel permeates throughout despite the tragic circumstances considering the themes and issues.
Romance between the main couple reminds me somewhat of Pride and Prejudice. Where their attraction for each other is subtle but the lingering gazes and tension is palpable. In this drama, only when their burden was lifted and their confessions were brought forth were they then able to openly express themselves. And oh boy, what utter sweetness and joy when that dam burst! Their first kiss was an avalanche of pent-up emotions and truly satisfying to watch.
The thoughtful details on this show is amazing. Thereās actually a story behind the frame and not just some random picture of a house. Is this some foreshadowing perhaps of MokGeolli? Hmmm š¤
1. How does Mok-ha know about the song "That Night" which was written because of Ki-ho? She was on the island…
#1 It was mentioned at the beginning part at the hangover scene with the parents.
Mokha chose that song for her audition which means she must have been looking up and listening to all of Ranjooās songs when she came back and chose that song in particular because she said she could relate to the lyrics.
Towards the end of that scene Mokha said āThat Nightā song mustāve been released while she was on the island.
Oh she didnāt know yet it was about Kiho until Ranjoo told her. This drama gives so many hints about Kiho and Mokhaās connection! š
Because the family has always been protective of Woohak, rightly or wrongly, due to the accident that caused him…
Ohh definitely! This is the one preview where I will *not* think as misleading š Iām reading some comments about how that may not be their first one because of how comfortable they are about it. š¤
Because the family has always been protective of Woohak, rightly or wrongly, due to the accident that caused him…
Yes, thanks for saying that! I read again what I wrote and it looked incomplete š I agree and Iāve mentioned this a few episodes back, that there really is more to Woohakās arc than being the foil to Bogeol and Mokhaās unbreakable bond.
Iāve also thought a bit about Woohakās breakdown scene and it did bring home the point when he found that Mokha left the lighter which he gave her vs Mokha going back to get the shoes she left behind because that held more meaning for her. I mean, itās pretty clear to me even before that how Mokha feels. Maybe the show was spelling it out for its audience who Mokha really has affections for, for those who didnāt know already! And as much as Woohak is a good character too in his own ways, he just isnāt the right person for Mokha. Anyway, Iām done with this silly third wheel arc, Iām crossing my fingers for a 180 turn in his characterization in the last two episodes.
I think there were many things that started to happen almost at the same time - Mokhaās album debut, discovery of the missing people, Kangās family interrogation and Ranjooās scandal, that the cutting of ties became a sense of urgency. It didnāt bother me as much because somehow I had a feeling it would resolve accordingly. Itās sad to watch, for sure. But also kinda reassuring that we get to see how much Bogeol and Mokha really do care for each other. If that makes sense? And it makes for an interesting thought to ponder too. Given the same situation, what would motivate oneās decision or how would one handle it? I canāt emphasize enough how wonderful it must be to have someone like Bogeol who understands Mokha completely. And I can go really mushy talking about them so Iāll stop now šš

Iāve enjoyed every bit of this uniquely written storytelling. Itās the most satisfying Iāve seen this year, or probably in many years, if I may say so. With such memorable characters like Kiho, who raised the ideal male lead standard to the top spot, IMHO and Mokha who is equally grounded with integrity and moral backbone at the defense of her found family. This drama was āthe something that gave me that burst of happinessā, thanks to a great cast, stirring songs and background music, and wonderful cinematography. This is one of those dramas that I wonāt soon forget. For me, it is dramas that tug at the heartstrings that tend to stay with me the most for a long time.š©µš
