Maybe it is just me but I found the FL to be immature, manipulative and controlling. I am only on Ep. 17 and it…
I genuinely think there was a power imbalance to their relationship. The FL dictates the direction of their relationship and I didn't like that. When she says stop, it stops. When she says "Alright, I'm ready", they continue.
I only came to the comments looking for this comment.
I honestly didn't like the other guy either. I thought that would help her move on and just focus on herself, her career and whatever the future holds.
No. I disagree 100%. Chinese dramas are THE BEST in costume dramas. It's their best specialty. Even Korean dramas…
I was about to ask why you're given a general assessment of cdramas till I reread this person's not-so-much-of-a-review review. Lol. My bad. I'm a very picky watcher so I might not agree with some of the generally loved cdramas but bashing the rest over one isn't proper but then if this is this person's first cdrama and they had a bad experience then I get how it could discourage for even making an attempt to delve out of what they're used to. But the thing about kdramas and cdramas is even if you started bad, you're bound to find something someday that changes that opinion if you're able to heal from the disappointment of your first bad impression. lol. I hope this person returns one day with a better viewing experience.
sorry but why didn't you go on, but above all what is your age? Should she marry a king (apart from the fact that…
It was quite important to ask for the age of this person cos even though I didn't like FL much, what on earth does who says no to a king mean? I mean... Is it okay to just marry a person for status regardless of anything else? That was just weird
I agree with your assessment, I simply wonder you did not like the figure of ML so how could you appreciate "lighter…
I'm not gonna lie I hated Lighter and Princess for the same reasons you mentioned and never could understand why people love annoying toxic dramas like that
I feel you. I also hate when they do that, but I guess they couldn't afford him anymore. Why they changed the…
Hopefully... I really didn't realise that the "new girl" was supposed to be the friend from S1 till they mentioned her seeing FL's brother and I was like "Wait... That's who she's supposed to be?" I genuinely thought she was a whole new character.
also everyone here in the comments is definetly mainly hating on the FL just because she looks like an actual…
It's funny cos I wasn't a big fan of Love Scout. I finished it though. However, I dropped No Gain, No Love. It's not for me.
Crash course in romance, I did enjoy. I love the fact that for once we don't have the stereotypical two super good-looking characters. She was represented in the most realistic way and their romance was amazing. I loved it.
Someone recommended this to me a few days ago and I started watching it. I loved the first episode - it actually…
Thank you. I already watched that one. I'm of the opinion that if a drama is good, then the number of episodes doesn't matter but you're right about this one. Because the Korean remake is more compact, it was more watchable. Not that fantastic but I finished it, so that's a plus for it.
I really tried to force myself to watch this one, to see what all the hype was about but I guess this isn't for me. So, yeah, I dropped it. I never rate nor review a drama I didn't finish though, so I guess the comments section is a good place for me to say why I dropped Go Ahead.
Despite the strong premise and early emotional hooks, I hit my breaking point when the show stopped feeling like rich storytelling and started feeling like manipulative melodrama, filled with irritating character traits and repetitive conflict.
I really liked the found-family setup, and the depiction of the way tragedy shaped these kids. But over time, several things just killed my interest:
Too much toxic family drama
Manipulative parents and elders - Chen Ting, her mother, Ling Xiao’s uncle, Zhao Huaguang... Their shamelessness grated on my nerves.
Jianjian’s baby talk, exaggerated silliness, and at times obliviousness too. Meiyang’s clinginess was irritating.
The romance isn't romancing - Ling Xiao asking Jianjian to “say sweet and nice things” repeatedly, policing her dating life (“hope you’re not secretly dating anyone”), sending Mingyue to secretly photograph her... This behaviour needs to be acknowledged as what it is - problematic and not the slow-burn romance they were trying to make it.
What could have been a beautiful story with heartfelt moments, was buried under all that mess. So, nope. I'm not torturing myself that way anymore. Bye to this one.
Haha. As I'm still watching this, I'll see if my ratings are this low when I'm done. However, I agree with you on a couple of things. I didn't care for Su Haoan's story. Neither did I appreciate the annoying Mu Chengyun. Could have at least made him likable so we can feel the second lead syndrome. If he was going to be like that, then there was no point introducing him. However, apart from a few unnecessary moves just to get the ball rolling for the romance between the main leads, I'm pretty much enjoying them. Their acting's top notch too.
Maybe it's just me, but this drama wasn't worth the hype. It started great, but some episodes were draggy AF.…
His poker face was the worst. FL annoyed the hell out of me with her immaturity and selfishness in the way she handled her relationship with ML for a long while. I still had a good time watching it nonetheless
The only cute part was the wedding; I didn't like how things went south after the FL found out ML's protector…
I personally didn't think there was any foundation for their relationship, especially cos of the relationship with Si Lili, for instance. Also hated that she had the audacity to confront Fan Xian with a knife, knowing fully well why Fan Xian would have killed Lin Gong, if indeed he actually killed Lin Gong
