I can't possibly sympathize with a character who intended to flood a whole city and disregard all human lives. Killed his father and an innocent 8 yo just to mitigate future risk.
That being said, screenwriter crew really add more dimension to his character with this specific scene. I also appreciate the fact that his eyes were red from crying weither it's the eyedrops work or self-inflicted. The actor also turn his face unwilling to face his uncle. I like those small details. Good work to the whole team!

👍Girl gotta do what girl gotta do. Man Man is amongst the few fictional character that get my blessing to use everything within their arsenal to achieve their mean. And the reason is because i believe Man Man got her heart at the right place. 🙂

Because if not there will be no trigger for Wei Shao to consumate his mariage with his wife in this story. He will never dare to ask Man Man properly given his current level of courage. So that character purpose is to drive the two main leads together 🤫 but dont tell her. We need her plan to backfire in her face.
Exactly, and he already lost half if not all his humanity. Remember when he wanted to flood Yanxi. All the population would have drown and more. Such a heinous action he can do, of course he won't bat an eye for an 8 yo kid.

In all honesty, there were many elements from the novel that i have issue with. But so far, the screenwriter crew had exceeded gracefully all my expectations. They modified and adjusted beautiful everything while retaining the essence of the novel and to not turns it into a fanfiction. I appreciate the care and respect for the source material. While also delivering this amazing production. The ensemble is magnificent so far. I'm ready for what is coming. I'm so glad i gave this drama a chance after completing that novel and embarked on that journey with everyone. 🙂
