Exactly I'm positive the two will comes to an acceptable solution. I'm actually happy about the change from the novel to the drama. The writing is much more consistent this way. While I get Wei Yan from the novel and doesn’t hate him, so far, i love and pity Wei Yan from the drama version.

Since i only ever saw Xuan Lu in gentle character, i watch her scene more for her facial expression and acting.
