It has to be JJH!! I think the audience would riot if the scum husband got another chance 🤺
I think he fled for a reason, most likely because his boss was about to frame him for a huge business scam since they work in finance. But that's just a theory. Still he should have talked to her instead of running away like he did without telling her anything about what was going on. I'm sure he's going to say it was all done to protect her. In the end he might be more of a grey character than all black like the beginning of the drama wanted to let us think he was... but if I were her I would most definitely still not go back with him especially with JJH around.
YY has become my fav character, she has the best character development among the 3 FLs, and despite her little…
I agree with what you've said. I think it's easier to like YY right now because she is the 1st to really move forward and make a clear cut in her sentimental life at least, whereas BY only starts to acknowledge that there could've been something between her and RJ but don't know how it could happen now if it never happened before. As for HH... While I don't quite like it, for me it makes more sense for her to reject him, than for her to suddenly start something with him. Please hear me out...
1st. "Once burned, twice shy" She may unconsciously trust him & rely on him a lot, but when it comes to take this last step knowingly she must also be reminded of how she was left blindsided with crippling debts by her husband of 10y. She loved him and trusted him unconditionally and yet here she is now, with still no clear explanation. Which leads me to my ...
2nd. The debt and disappearing act mystery While she may have no clear idea of what happened, let's not forget that HH knows that there's something fishy going on with her husband sudden disparition after she stumbled upon the missing 'mistress' at the hospital. She had no clue to help her go forward with her investigation once the 'other woman' disappeared but I very much doubt she still believes it all happened because of a 'simple' case of adultery, especially after meeting with the girl's mother. Therefore...
3rd. There's just no way that HH, a morally upright character, who even at her lowest always tries to do what is right would herself commit adultery even more so when facing those doubts. Also let's not forget how her husband's debts already impacted not only herself but her son's scholarity and her parents. She definitely doesn't need to add another battle to fight especially when she just decided to to follow her heart and take a chance on her career by leaving the TV station, which will require her full focus.
Right now she is unable to divorce her husband (not for lack of trying ) and chasing her dream. She said it herself later on in the episode: love is not only about meeting the right person, but also meeting them at the right time. I think this development fit very well with the title after all 'Be your own light' even though I really wish JJH didn't have to get his heart broken for it.
Also I do think she thinks of him as more than just a friend and like you said her coldness towards him might have been her way to force herself to take some distance from him. Not because he makes her uncomfortable, but on the contrary because with his natural warmth it might be way too easy for her to slip up on this very slippery slope XD
I'm at ep 32 and beside HH repaying a small part of it every month, we still don't know if it will get paid. I think the whole debt mystery will be at the heart of the last arc 🤷♀️
Lol what did you watch. I am a fan of both but some drama story I get bored even I love the ML or FL :) I didn’t…
Sorry I took so long to answer ^^"
I went with The Legendary Life of Queen Lau and was halfway through and enjoying it but then TTEOTM happened and I got completely sidetracked 🤦♀️( went into a Bai Lu / Luo Yunxi binge watch frenzy) BUT I will for sure pick it up again at some point. I still haven't started on Prodigy Healer. I still plan to give it a chance even though I haven't heard anything good about it so far.
I really love Bai Fengxi but wasn't so fan of the drama overall, very strong beginning but then too much focus on the ML power stuggle with his family and the final battle felt rushed to me. It's too bad because the CP relationship was very well balanced and there was some really good side characters in the story. I'm especially sad about the 1st brother, I really would have loved to see more of him instead of their father...
Xiao Se is the very reason why I started Love Better than Immortality ^^" so it should come as no surprise that I enjoyed him (and the drama ) thoroughly. I just wish they hadn't tried to give him this lukewarm romance, it felt very unnecessary and unconvincing in the end (I'm staying vague to avoid others being spoiled by accident ). I've recently heard that there might be a season 2. If that's the case I hope they will forget about the romance 🙏 And I wholeheartedly agree the monk - Wu Xin / Ye An Shi REALLY deserved more screetime. Again if there really is a season 2 in the making I hope we'll get to see more of him 🙏✨
There's such a cozy autumn vibe to this series of posters... 🤎🍂 I really like it. Can almost picture myself with a plaid and cup of tea while this 2 do their best to break my heart into 1000 pieces...
Fun fact *^^* In her currently airing drama A Date with the Future FL said she has been part of a civilian rescue team just like ML in his last modern drama Light Chaser Rescue. Also both characters were victims of devastating earthquakes.
Can't wait to meet Su Wei An & Gu Yun Zheng but meanwhile I'll also be thinking of what could have happened between control freak Luo Ben and the bold and refreshing Xu Lai also known as no-dog-in-my-home Luo Ben and super-enthusiast-dog-trainer Xu Lai XD
I saw Luo Yunxin drama before but he only played 2nd male role so I didn’t pay much attention until Till the…
Same XD I can't get enough of BL x LYX and really hope we'll get the chance to see them in a 3rd drama someday. At least they seem to have a great relationship and enjoy this idea. They mentioned they would like a suspense drama or republican maybe... whatever they pick, I'd be there for it.
I had heard of him before but for whatever reason had never watched anything with him, but now I've binged LiS which is just 🥰 and I'm halfway through Light Chaser Rescue. It's great since I'm almost caught up with everything ZRN I can now enjoy discovering LYX's dramas while waiting for this one to air 😊
I can't wait to watch this one. I've been following ZRN ever since Everyone Wants to Meet You, and recently discovered how great LYX is thanks to Till the End of the Moon so this really feels like a special treat to me 🥰 I hope we'll get some news soon !
From the clues and preview stills I've been seeing, a tragic ending is a real possibility so brace yourself. As…
If we got a BE the only way for us all to preserve our sanity would be if LYX and BL are held accountable for all the emotional damage they inflicted on us, poor viewers, and gave us a 3rd drama ASAP as compensation. That's it.
Is there any possibility that Youku would publish an extended version in future?
I really really hope so. I love the show already but I'm sure with all those missing bits and pieces back were they should be, it would be even better. Cutting from 58 to 40 was way too much!
Is there any other wuxia/xianxia drama with a villian / antihero male lead ? (I know LBFAD has one and was wondering…
Love Better than Immortality (2019) with Zhao Lusi & Li Hongyi . I really enjoyed this one even if it's far from being an S+ drama and the cast was quite young at the time, so not as good as they are now, which is to be expected. But it has its charms and lovely moments.
I was so not expecting to fall hard for this drama when I started it, but fallen I have !! *OO* I'm at ep19 and my heart is breaking for this devilish ML. Hope the second half will be as good if not better 🙏
update: It was that good.
I started this drama because I enjoyed The Blood of Youth and wanted to see a bit more of Li Hongyi past works. I had no real expectations regarding this drama knowing that: a) it was a rather small budget one b) both leads were rather young at the time
And indeed it shows. This drama is clearly nowhere near perfect, it's full of flaws from poorly chosen wigs to props and make-up that do not match from one scene to the next and dubious trope (how did the brother/sister thing managed to pass censorship will forever remain another unsolved mystery of Cdramaland for me 🤷♀️) and also some terribly bad acting in the supporting cast. And yet it totally swept me off my feet ! I have no doubt that I'm gonna rewatch it. And most likely very soon. This couple is gonna live rent free in my head for some time if not forever ( I hope they will get along just fine with Hao Du x Li Leyan ). I can't believe how this drama sneaked up on me!! Now I don't know if I should take a break from this pairing and watch The Legendary Life of Queen Lau which looks like a very fun watch, or jump right away on Prodigy Healer... We shall see.
p.s: now I'm also stuck with this terrible idea of an AU ship of Xiao Se x Bai Fengxi and I don't even like to read fanfics!!! HELP PLEASE !!
In the first 10 minutes, horses are horribly abused. I am passing on this drama.
I don't get it... why are you once more spreading false information about this drama ? 3 months ago you were saying it had already aired on Youtube. You were even providing a link to another drama that has nothing to do with this one. And now this. I just don't get it.
