So basically, Xu Yirao, Lusi's ex-manager and agent, is the one who dragged her into a toilet, beat her for hours,…
Now that Lusi is an A-list star, she should have the means to bring slander and harassment lawsuits against all of these people who wronged her and challenge the exorbitant fee to end her contract with Xu Yirao. Winning those law suits will help Lusi get her confidence back and heal.

I only watch costume dramas and they usually start slow and build but I agree there are many that have action, etc. from the start. Your choice if you want to watch or not.

Not too impressed with the first episode... Confusing and out of interest... Hopefully it gets better.1st episodes…
When you have a 40 episode drama, it takes time to build. If you want to start where the synopsis above starts, skip to episode 7 and ML will be at that point by the end of the episode - you won't miss much as the beginning just shows him getting there.

It's not the best or worst series. I just skip the food scenes if they go on for too long. There is action, a…
Yes, he deserves to always be a lead but they often make him a secondary character in the higher budget c-dramas. He might need a better agency as his acting is incredible.

Hope you like it. I'm still finding it action packed with a good story line.

Can someone please give a non biased and honest review on the ML’s acting? I’ve never watched a drama of his…
I didn't appreciate his acting in his earlier works; however, I thought his acting and the series he was in were pretty good starting with The Love Last Two Minds. The series has a stiff personality written into the story line for him so it helps. His acting seems to be ok so far for the sad parts, he's not crying buckets like other actors but he is tearing up and it looks realistic. I agree with other reviewers that this is a hidden gem, not boring at all, no skipping so far.

I was bored with Love Games In Eastern Fantasy by ep 4 so I skipped ahead to ep 7 before giving up and was glad…
I like more action myself and less politics. Unfortunately though, The Double is hard to surpass as it was so superior to most other series.

This drama was meant to be an emotionally heavy ride. Yes, there were many crying scenes from each of the characters…
I don't disagree with your statement in whole. I rated it the highest it could get. I wish though that there had been a little less crying scenes and more action as the crying scenes already got their point across at 1,000 watt power. What can I say, I'm a sucker for action scenes balanced out with crying scenes. Everyone has their likes but I hear the point you are making.

I think they meant to name the series, The River of Tears, lol. One of the higher rated series of the year. Very enjoyable; however, the person who wrote in the comments section awhile back that there were too many teary moments as all of the leads were crying much of the time had a good point.

I heard this is good, but I am on episode 4 and very bored.
I was bored with Love Games In Eastern Fantasy by ep 4 so I skipped ahead to ep 7 before giving up and was glad that I did. The story took off and wasn't that oft-putting cutsie stuff like the beginning. In the end, this series might be more for people who enjoyed Story of Kunning Palace, The Double, Blossom In Adversity.

It shows how good an actor he is that only the one sister likes him and the rest of us are going yech, ugh.

I've seen her in Handsome siblings and I thought the same. Its 2024 now, seems like she haven't improved then
I didn't realize I saw her before in Handsome Siblings until you mentioned it. Yes, she hasn't improved much then as that was filmed a long time ago.

I lasted until the introduction of the mermaid in the first ep, then Noped the fuck out! I'm not that strong,…
Im watching it but I agree with you about the severe wig on ML. Unfortunately, they are still doing that in today's series. They put a nice wig on ML in the beginning of Fall in Love with a Fox, and then put the same severe wig on him for the entire next segment that doesn't go with his facial features. Let's hope it's not coming back big time.
