I don't care what anyone says but I'm watching Stand by Me as a bl. I'm aware that the series was made in mainland China where the sight of 2 men kissing is a taboo & considered abnormal. However, the interactions between Feng Guan and Huang Wei suggest that they are having more than a bromance! The scene with Feng Guan ripping his tie off to restraint Huang Wei suggests intimacy. I can't imagine two straight friends doing that to each other! I binge watched 10 episodes and it's incredible how much storyline is packed in every 10 minute storyline. I love the slapstick humour and the way Feng Guan tries to save Huang Wei like he is some damsel in distress! I watched Stand by Me to help me heal from the trauma of watching Stay with Me which ended on a cliffhanger. I'll be sorry when Stand by Ends because I'll miss seeing two very hot guys who make me cry with laughter! My next mission is to find another Chinese series that is not a bl 😉 but could pass as one!
I really missed 😢 waking up to the latest episodes of Stay Me being available. I came on here to reminisce about how much I miss Wu Bi & Su Yu's story. Instead, I'm frustrated to read a lot of spiteful comments. Why do a minority commentators care so much about how this series is classified? How sad is your life that you feel the need to attack a series that clearly brought a lot of joy to the majority of watchers? If you're disappointed by the lack of sex then I suggest that you steer clear from watching Chinese productions because they may never live up to your expectations! Instead, stick to Thai bls because they are not bound by strict censorship laws. I'm eagerly waiting to see season 2 and I don't care if there are no explicit sex scenes if that means the series gets made!

The cast & crew working on this production did so while knowing that they risked blacklash either from censors or from society in general. Being gay was still a crime in China until the late 90s. It's still a taboo subject amongst the majority of the population. Therefore, I think the whole bl or not argument is so disrespectful to the people who delivered one the best series this year. The actors' who played Wu Bi & Su Yu are amazing and I they go on to get bigger and better roles. I don't mind reading justified criticism but the whole bl or not debate is becoming really pointless.

I was expecting to watch the final episode this week but I'm so glad that we get to see the relationship develop to the next judging by the trailer for next week! Gu Buxia is adoreable but needy and Jiang Chi is like the textbook perfect boyfriend who just wants to take care of his man. Both know what they're getting into so who am I to judge their relationship! I love this series because it's an easy watch and there is good on-screen chemistry between the two lead actors. SBMS is not perfect but it does make me laugh especially when the ghostly voices interact with Gu Buxia! Looking forward to next week.

I'm not sure whether we saw the same series! The majority of us watched a heartwrenching love story between two boys. This series wasn't perfect but it was clear that Wu Bi & Su Yu were having more than a bromance. I also, understood that the series had to get past Chinese censorship and so it may appear "watered down" to you. Stay With Me is one of the best bl's I have ever watched and I would recommend people watch it and come to their own conclusion.
