The time I've spend for this , the investment I put into this just to get that kind of an ending!? JAIL!!!! Who…
Just imagin how sweet it will be when we get season 2! At least that's what I'm telling myself so I can heal from the trauma of watching the last 15 minutes!
I hope this doesn't affect them negatively. They deserve all the protection.
The problen with popularity is that then the Chinese authorities take an interest! I'm assuming that they filmed in two parts to test what they could get away with and maybe down to budgetary constraints. I'm sure the series has a massive following in China despite it not officially shown there yet!
If light kisses passed China's censorship code why did the show wait 22 episodes to include them? I can't think…
I get your point but I think we're watching with western eyes so it may seem a missed opportunity not to acknowledge the status of their relationship earlier. I think the slow burn and the gradual build up the kiss was to refect that Su Yu & Wu Bi were crossing a forbidden line in Chinese culture. Addicted got banned for being too sexually explicit by the Chinese cencors ans so I assume the production team decided to tread with care. It's a real shame that we're even having this conversation but it's a reflection on how you're still not free to love who you want openly in some countries.
I thought I was prepared for what was to come after reading some spoilers last week but I found myself shamelessly sobbing over the heartbreak of two fictional characters! This cast and the crew deserve to get so much recognition/credit for taking the risk to go up against the Chinese censors who refuse to acknowledge in the 21st century the very existence of same sex relationships. Everything about this series; from the script; production values; the chemistry between the two leads has raised the bar for bls. I also have to applaud the creativity of the producers' when it came to portrayal of Su Yu & Wu Bi's relationship being more than a bromance. Even the innuendos were tastefully done! The last 15 minutes left me bereft of any tears. My worry is that the censors banned Addicted because it became too popular and this series may not get a second season. I loved the rawness of the original Addicted but Stay with Me will stay with a a long time. The only downside is that both have open ended endings leaving me bereft! I'm rooting for season 2 but I'm not getting my hopes too high!

GoogstarP Love Syndrome is a classic example of Stockholm syndrome. I haven't read the book but apparently the series is tamer in reflecting the toxic relationship.
first of all I want to say how well directed, shot, and performed all of the ming/ning sex scenes are. I would…
Non-consenual sex is rape in the eyes of the law where I live! There are no caveats that make it acceptable! In the real world,, Ning would be filing a police report but in a thai bl he will end up dating his abuser!
I was so looking foward to this series but it's turned into a hot mess! I can turn a blind eye to alot but the non-consenual sex scene for me was reprehensible. I'm also tired of seeing trans characters portrayed as irrational shrieking baddies. This is my first JaFirst series and It's a shame that they have chemistry but I'm not into the storyline. Without the backstory, Punn comes across as a stalker/obsessed fan that any celebrity would run from. Until now, I was rooting for Mingmueng to end up with doctor. It's a shame that the writers' effectively turned him into a douchebag who had sex with his crush while he was unconscious. On a postive note, First looks like a Disney prince when he is filming the lakhorn and so I'll keep watching just for that!
@8392225 Have you heard of the saying leave each to their own! I loved this series despite knowing about the missing episodes beforehand. I started watching it after starting to watch Stay With Me. Both versions have blown me away! Also, I have a lot respect for those who worked on Addicted because they dared to make series despite knowing that they were risking the wrath of the Chinese censors. Moreover, most bl fans do not expect Hollywood production values due to the obvious restrictive budgets. It's a shame that you saw the series through very judgemental lens. I was too engrossed in the story to care about the fact that I was watching grainy footage. In constrast, Stay With Me has higher production values but adheres to strict censorship laws. The writer has been creative in using innuendos to convey that Wu Bi & Su Yu have a sexual relationship. I also read on Instagram that there is a Thai remake in the pipeline. I'm sure there will be an 'uncut' version if it gets made. This maybe more to your taste because Thai bls don't shy away from showing explicit sex scenes.
Is it an official announcement that there will be season 2? I don't want the current series to end on a cliff hanger and then season 2 doesn't makes to screen. I watched Addicted after starting Stay With Me and the sudden ending left me bereft. I was hoping that Stay with Me would at least give me an ending. I really want season 2 but I am worried about Chinese censorship laws coming into play. I'm a straight woman and it sickens me that Fifty Shades with minor edits can be shown in China but two men kissimg is too much for the censors. I have started to read the book and the original series seems to follow the novel more closely then Stay With Me. I appreciate that the Stay With Me production team had to tread carefully and so they used subtle innuendos to weave in the fact that Su Yu and Wu Bi become more than friends. I really hope that we get to see all the episodes this time around. My heart can't wait for another remake to get to see the ending!
This is a surprisingly good series. Intially, I had watched the first 10 minutes of the first episode and given up. I then binge watched the first four episodes and I really enjoyed the slow burn storyline when it comes to Charn & Tinn. Intially, to me Charm's manical smile screamed red flag, run as fast as you. Then you get a glimpse into his past and his behaviour makes sense. I'm also curious about how Thee & Theanthai's relationship develops. Ironically, I'm finding myself more drawn to their story then the main couple. Overall, this series has the archetypal enemies to lovers troupe but it seems to be done really well. I'm looking forward to seeing the next episode.
The "massage" to loosen up part and "tongue" toy game dialogue was too much pls. They are playing with my feelings.…
I wish that there was a way to have a group finale screening party so that I'm not ugly crying on my own at the end! (Hopefully, tears of happiness because there is a Disney ending).
I'm an emotional mess after watching the last two episodes 😭 It's a beautiful thing when a series is fortunate enough to have a strong script /high production values; two amazing lead actors and an OST that I want to download. Wu Bi's mum's favourite track, "Goodbye My Lonely Heart", is now on my playlist. I love the way that the song has it's own poignant significance in the series. I'm just sad that the series ends next week. This was my first Chinese bl series and It's been a great introduction. I did watch the Addicted, the original, midway through Stay With Me and was another level brilliant! It's a great shame it got banned and thd last few episodes were never aired.
