Even I thought the same with the lipstick scene. I like how Kanna always says "It's Negi not dog." She is like…
I did not watch a lot of it. The one I remember was when the interviewer asked Yamada what was like a hard scene to do, and he said to emote while looking at Ayaka while she was sleeping. Then Kana said she was actually sleeping.
I keep getting recommendations to watch this, and I can only watch the clips from the episodes, Totally agree…
I could not digest a lot of it, like you said a lot of them were miserable but I won't call it romance, it is a tragedy and I cannot understand people romanticizing the leads. I agree with the initial post-er loads of manipulation, gaslighting, mental abuse, emotional and physical trauma, which no one man or woman should ever endure. One scene where shoots like a million arrows at that guy and she had to watch him die then she weeps as well as mourn guy while her husband looked on, Oh my so devastating. Anyway I guess writers and makers need to tell tales of tragedies too. The world is not all honey and roses. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate good conversation.
Which is more bromance or romance,I dont like romance much. Could u tell me whether u recommend it or not
The male leads have a different kind of relationship, starts off rivalry, then comedy and heartfelt. I would recommend because if you don't think too much about immortality, reincarnation, grim reapers too much then it has a lot of comedy. Bear in mind the Goblin is 936 years old while the Grim Reaper is some 300 over years old. The female lead is 19 while the other female lead is also reincarnated but maybe late 20s. It is a fantasy story which means a lot of it may not make sense. All of them share a past especially Goblin, Grim Reaper and the Sunny (second lead)
Interesting concept. I once heard that in the realm of souls, we meet each other but which soul is chosen to be born as a human may not necessarily be the oldest or youngest, This is why sometimes we see young people but we feel they have an old soul or vice versa. There are times when we meet strangers and we feel a connection because we met in the realm of souls, thus we call them our soulmate.
Interesting concept about continuous reincarnation. But after watching the second episode, I think the concerns raised by some are understandable and justifiable. There are moments that makes you feel unsettled.
Shin Hye Sun is just an amazing actress and you can see the character she plays in her eyes, I do love the background music and songs ,so 80s , which is done intentionally to trigger people's mind to the past. ( for Millennials of course)
Finally watched it , thanks to the subbers. It was a wholesome episode with redemption for the mother. I must commend the actress Nanako because I really hated the Shizuka's character. She did a good job despite the condensed version. Best character in the show was Negi, that dog was just too cute . Best scene was when Ayaka celebrated Togo's birthday and the emotional unloading by Togo , followed by the hug. The leads were wonderful in their roles, I like Kanna more, she was so animated and adorable. The Battler with Arata was a funny ending, them trying to maximise advertising for La Blanche again. The show was a fun watch, an 8 for me.
From the latest trailer, story takes a huge turn, with Jiu Si and Ru Yu sitting on a throne. I wonder if it has to do because the mom is related to the Royal family. Interesting.
On another note, they keep referring to Jiu Si as a playboy, seems more like he is an aimless spoiled brat loafer with no sense of purpose in life not a womaniser. Perhaps the translation isn't quite accurate.
It is nice to see an actual relationship forming and growing. I think when you get married or even have partners, it is about complementing while striving to bring out the best in each other. The wedding is the easy part but marriage is the hardest journey one could ever embark upon.
On a side note this is like a PSA: The greatest misfortune one could ever make is to marry the wrong person. Who you marry is really important. If it is not for you, don't do it.
I was so angry when I finished this show not because of the ending but because of how many people still "shipped"…
I keep getting recommendations to watch this, and I can only watch the clips from the episodes, Totally agree with you so much toxicity, narcissism and just cruelty. This is not love, this is about power, dominance and height of chauvinism. I don't understand the FL despite knowing the husband is the same guy she loved but kept on edging him again and again because she wants him to realise on his own? From the series clips, she too is to be blamed choosing to walk away towards the end. Then she kills herself?!! She shld have killed the husband! All those other men who supposedly loved her ...but watched from afar. The more I think about it, the angrier I got. These kinds of portrayal of women just doesn't gel with me. Also this kind of love filled with hate -toxic- narcissism-helplessness which makes girls fall in love with a domineering rich powerful cold-hearted gaslighting abusive man needs to stop.
Cinematography looked good and so did costume. Acting yes, they did so well.
i'm curious, does anyone sympathize with/like kamiyama? i've seen a lot of comments on the MIL (for good reason…
Well it would not be the first time a best friend stabs another friend in the back . But he committed sexual harassment and entrapment to destroy Ayaka's marriage and character because he was 'forced to' by her psycho MIL? Ideally he should be charged with the crime.
sorry to bother you but could you tell me if the ML also has a harem?
I blame the writers and makers because they want to drag the story. Xi Wei is cute nonetheless but they could have made her character better instead of goofy and oblivious. Honestly in terms of characters I honestly thought Yuan Ying was a better match for Yi Zheng, they are at par. Hehehe
The green bridal outfit is lovely but the one in The Lady in the Butcher's House was nicer, more intricate, FL also wore a green robe. Yu Ru's character is somewhat similar to one in My Heroic Husband but Song Yi emotes well, so you can see the distinction. It is nice to see the mother in law and father in law are nice people. The chemistry I guess because they are a real couple complements the series.
sorry to bother you but could you tell me if the ML also has a harem?
No he doesn't, he only loves Li Wei but because Yi Zheng is actually smart, knows martial arts and all the typical hero prince stuff, he keeps attracting Queen and Kings who offer marriage. Even Shan Guan Jin;s sister, the Queen of Danchuan wanted to marry him. spoiler: Yes he does end up being forced to marry a princess who becomes his official consort because Li Wei is only a concubine due to her status. But Yuan Ying the JinChuan Princess and Yi Zheng just marry for formalities, She wants to serve her country not interested in marriage, but force by her dad the King of JinChuan, Fortunately there is not love triangle, Yuan Ying helps Yi Cheng gain higher position and starts grooming Li Wei to become a proper princess, Yuan Ying becomes their teacher and the 6th prince household is run by Yuan Ying, who runs a tight ship hahaha. Both Li Wei and Yi Zheng actually are afraid of her LOL! They all become good friends and it is Li Wei who swoons over Yuan Ying and does not want her to go. Yi Zheng promised to divorce Yuan Ying once the time is appropriate so that she can return in honour. He sends her back and help convince her dad that she is also a worthy successor. Yuan Ying become a minister in JinChuan. All three remain good friends till the end and help each other. Yuan Ying is the one who basically knocks sense into Li Wei about her feelings for Yi Zheng. Honestly I thought she was playing too hard to get.
Show centered around women and empowerment with loads of cooking/ eating. Such a big cast, I got really confused who was who , there were too many princesses and princes. Best looking princess for me was Fang Shuai Qi, she was stunning. The makers dragged the show unnecessarily, could have ended it a lot sooner. Li Wei was so indecisive over her husband Yi Zheng, I mean she got the best prince and guy but she was still... do I like him or continue to lead him on. ugh! The third prince and his harem filled with concubines was funny albeit it being utterly outrageous !
The best characters were the kids, they did a fantastic job! And the second is 'Tong Luo Qi', she was the best and she also looked the best. She was feisty, sassy, and classy.
I don't understand who did Jade's wardrobe but come on! We know she is playing a mom but they literally put her in mom jeans!! Good thing about the drama, they did not drag the misunderstanding very long, even the ex- girlfriend part. Hao Yu's confession on the bed was really good , they did a nice job with that scene and writing. All in all it was an enjoyable albeit the whole backstory with the kids' mom and separation loopholes.
Ep 9 was heartbreaking . That Witch of a mother has some serious issue just because she had to give up her love and kid then marry a millionaire, so she wants Togo to do the same? Twisted logic!
What is up with Togo's dad, who knows his wife is a psycho b%$^& and does nothing to protect his son. I will never understand people who think by sacrificing something, they are saving the other person, another holier than thou complex! Time again it is Ayaka who is the victim, pity the girl never got to enjoy the happiness long enough but at least her family is awesome.
There is a famous adult cartoon called South Park and in that Cartmen sings a song about his classmate Kyle's mom. It is called Kyle's mom is a stupid B.##%^, and I so I dedicate that song to Togo...no no Sakuraba's mom coz she is a mean old stupid frustrated self-absorbed narcissistic gaslighting B@##% Ok I feel better

It was not like this in the manga though boo hoo!
