I'm still waiting for this to get interesting... It took me 3 hours or more to watch episode 8 because I kept…
I'm missing any chemistry people say they have? I don't know if it's the flashback/fast foward routine getting in the way but it looks too fake. But that's nothing new, it's hard for a romance to burn with chemistry in K-Dramaland and that's highly understandable but there are levels and levels... lol
But I'm with you, friend! Let's hope those secrets come out crashing everyone and everything on their way! I want to see tears, blood, anguish, anger! Isn't this a melo? Give me real feelings, for Christ's sake!
I'm still waiting for this to get interesting... It took me 3 hours or more to watch episode 8 because I kept…
Friend... you really need to drop it. I get your feels are strong for this one, so much you see me as a hater here, but don't give me the "Don't like it, don't watch it" card. I said a dozen times already I'm not dropping this show since I've been anticipating it dearly ever since last year. You see, this is what I meant on the other reply - instead of giving me your reasons to try and "convince" me that I'm wrong, you're trying to find excuses to why I don't like it. Because I must be wrong, right?
Oh, when I say "convince" I don't mean you have to, not at all. I mean the way things generally go on my other discussions out there like "Oh, no, keep watching, you have to look at things from this angle or that angle and you'll learn to appreciate it." and all that jazz. I'm completely open to that talk, I love that talk! No need to get all defensive, please.
I'm 25, no fan of Suzy and although I do like KWB for his charisma, I like most genres including melo and slow paced dramas but this one is dragging itself around the clock without any substance. I get it you love it and contrary opinions might sting but you have to understand I'm NOT hating on this show, I like seeing KWB struggle into a different kind of character and I did expect this show to be something else entirely but I'm quite alright adapting to different genres instead of judging it for something it's clearly not, yet it's simply not selling. Not to me. Everything seems disconnected and all else I've already said on previous posts.
YET, as you said, I'm still hoping for the pieces to fit in this drama and that's what keeps me here. Romance is not my cup of tea either, comedy is. You can stand there and say that's why I dislike UF, but no. I can appreciate all kids of genres alright if it touches me somehow, which is not happening with this one for some reason I can't quite grasp. I never said I can't stand this drama and that it urges me to vomit or whatever nonsense like that. When I say I snooze while watching it, it's because it lacks the hook to keep me focused. Everything's isolated for now, all the truths are being held away from the light and I don't see a point in anything going on up until here since everything that passed by looks completely irrelevant. There's no real chemistry between those two to make it feel real - anything, the drama, the guilt, the romance... anything. I'm waiting for those skeletons in the closet to come out... THEN - only then we'll be able to see some real challenge for those two average skilled Korean sweethearts. I want it to feel real, that's all. Slow or fast, I want the show to sell itself to me as a whole.
I don't know how come she didn't feel batryed after he shot her like that if I were her I would be so damn shocked…
Yep. He was surprised as well. But I get his POV because she is a stranger who knows when his life's at risk, shows up out of the blue, does things randomly and seeems to know the most personal details of his life and won't talk. She might as well be a spy or something under his perspective, idk. She might as well be the culprit for all he knows! So I wasn't really upset that she forgave him, furthermore when he swears he knew nothing would harm her and she trusts him blindly. But if it was me I'd be freaked out as well. XD
ok here's my theory!!!! When the dad draws the drowning scene and falls asleep Yeon Joo comes back to check on…
Cool theory but I guess @browncoat_78 got closer to the real thing here. I also believe that happened. Her will made him live! OMG OMG OMG I'M SO HEAD OVER HILLS WITH THIS DRAMA BLESS W AMEN! @W@
This drama has me on the edge of my seat! I wish I could draw closer to the screen and jump into W's world as well. T A T Apart from Sukkie, this is my first time seeing HHJ's work and I'm amazed by her comic skills.
It's been a while since I last watched a drama this thrilling! Feels like I'm on speeeeeeeeeeeeeed!
W, fighting! Can't wait for tonight! *-*
I swear if he dies at the end this drama is crap. I don't like bad endings. Also I hate the mother. How can she…
lol, same here. I keep playing Township while watching it because I can't bother to pay full attention when there's nothing to see. Perhaps it IS good but it's just draggy. Let's hope so.
I swear if he dies at the end this drama is crap. I don't like bad endings. Also I hate the mother. How can she…
lol I'm the opposite. I'll be very frustrated if he miraculously gets rid of terminal cancer. Then again, I do believe there's some sort of angel there because I keep seeing a feather...
They already hit their car accident quota in the first few episodes. How is this going to get to 20 episodes?…
I wonder if they'll cut it down to 16. Perhaps not since we're talking about KWB and Heirs got dragged all the way to 20 too. I want KWB in good roles, what's going on? SJY is such a mess. What are the writers doing???
Anyone else bothered by all the guys man-handling and hitting the girls? I know its common in K-dramas but this…
I'm always bothered by the man-handling in dramas (unless it's evasion to some sort of humiliation). I don't get what's "romantic" about that at all. But all that and the yelling... I'd be like "Dude, wth is your problem?!" and she's there like "....." even with her personality.
If a guy grabs me by the arm in my country all I'll do is yell "RAPIST! HEEEEELP!"
I've been ardently anticipating this drama ever since last year and I can't believe how incredibly... boring this…
Oh, man... I think you should try and read my reply again because you got me all wrong. Perhaps if you drop your defenses and ignore the ominous look a long reply has, you'll understand what I was saying.
First of all, let me clarify a few things by quoting you:
1) "I wasn't trying to bash other dramas and I wasn't trying to start an argument either, so I don't understand why you took my reply so seriously."
R: I never used those words. Things went like this: I stated how disappointed I was, randomly mentioned a good surprise opposing to a bad one and never compared the 3 dramas (because there's no way too). When you reply and use the word "overrated" (which is common on the tongue of those willing to nip others' interests for fun) precisely to the dramas I previously mentioned, it seems like that was your goal alright. I wasn't taking it seriously as I don't take any other reply seriously but I do enjoy discussing with members to bring out their detailed opinions. If I wanted to say you're a hater I would've simply said so instead of typing away. Besides, I stressed that I've been daydreaming about this drama ever since it was announced so how come I'm a hater?
2) "Is it ok for you to call a drama boring while praising another one, but when someone else does it, you find it rude and disrespectful?"
R: No? When did I say you were being rude and disrespectful? I was stating my arguments behind my opinion and hoping you would do the same because opinions are strictly personal while arguments are technical. I do tend to type a lot though to avoid missunderstandings yet here we are...
3) "For all I know, all I said is that W disappointed me, is that a crime?"
R: What? I said I wouldn't discuss it because it's a very particular genre I love (plus LJS) so I might be biased of W while I'm not biased of Doctors, hence why I used it for an example. That's what I meant with "I won't go there with you" because around that one, it's more a matter of opinion than anything to me.
4) "And I never said UF is the best drama ever."
I got it. Let's check. You said "So far it's the best I watched this year" and I replied "I really don't get why anyone would say this is the best drama they've watched SO FAR". I just left "this year" out of the statement but I did regard it. We're already halfway through 2016 and I've watched many many dramas this year which were great and I believe you did too.
Ok, now let me...
I'm not bashing on this drama (or I wouldn't even be watching it still). The only drama I completely despise and I watched till the very end (because I was curious to understand why it's so popular) is BBF. I was simply saying UF is not coming out like I expected it too, I'm disappointed because I've been waiting for this ever since last year and I wasn't even mad, simply stating my arguments there (and majority - on this page at least - seem to agree with me). I'm no fan of action either so no, it's not because it's missing action. In fact, there's plenty action there but UF feels like eating lettuce without dressing - everything I said (except for my opinion on the leads) is technical.
I too have watched too many dramas, perhaps not more than you, but I understand well how it usually goes and I don't see how UF is any different from the typical and that's what you're failing to explain (not that you have to, I had asked you to).
P.S: I never called YOU a hater, hun, I was telling YOU to ignore the haters because (unlike me) they come with groundless statements, harsh words, rate the drama 1.0 to drop the score on purpose, make a bad review about it and all they want is to annoy you while I was simply developing my pov. You're the one who took it personal and felt attacked just like I advised you not to. When I said it's not worth to argue, I meant with those people though. But, come on, I was just asking you to explain to me why it's so good because I'm not following.
P.S.1: Plain and simple, I agree. As I said previously, actually. But it's not boring, not for me at least (so far). Surprisingly too.
P.S.2: Oh, and about W, I understand the feeling. This is my first time seeing Han Hyo Joo and I believe her acting is supposed to go that way because there's manhwa involved so I don't see it badly but I got the same feeling toward other actors in some dramas (like that lead female in Kill me, Heal me), so I get it. Then again, I do love my fiction and anime so... XD
And let me stress that I'm just not feeling UF and I like argumentations (not in a bad way, english makes it look bad but "argumentation" in my country means "friendly discussion") so I was pointing out my arguments hoping you'd bring yours into discussion and explain what you mean with "americanized" (because I really don't see it). That's all, I'm NOT a hater and I was NOT criticizing you, you can rest your head.
I've been ardently anticipating this drama ever since last year and I can't believe how incredibly... boring this…
Well, I believe we can't call a drama overrated until it's finished but as I said above, Doctors is more of the same old same but it's fun to watch, it's entertaining and that's enough for me. Even more so when I wasn't expecting anything from that show so it was a good surprise and - on the contrary - UF had me hoping with high expectations and I'm so upset and blue.
As for W, so far so good, Brenda. We're only on episode 2 of course so it can get better, keep things up or go downhill, lol. Let's hope it doesn't. I don't usually read the synopsis so I was incredibly amazed when the lead gets pulled into the manhwa. Episode 1 felt a bit too accelerated to me but it's good enough and it got me on the edge of my seat wondering who the real murderer is and how things are happening, how the heck they're going to explain everything and all. But, well, I do love fantasy so... XD
I've been ardently anticipating this drama ever since last year and I can't believe how incredibly... boring this…
I have no idea what you're talking about here, honestly. Perhaps you should try explaining what's so good about UF instead of bringing up what's bad about the others? And it's not a wave? I'm no fan of medical dramas either (I've only watched House - because it's great - and Doctor Stranger, also great, and the others I've watched are just the rest) but they're good when it's not focused on romance, like Doctors. In fact, it can't even be called a medical drama since the name is actually Doctor Crush, so the environment is a Hospital but there's nothing particularly new about it, it's not the main thing going on either, they just happen to be doctors.
Also, there's nothing americanized(?) about either Doctors or W. Or any other drama I've watched so far. Doctors is nothing new, really, same old same, but it's fun to watch, it has a good flow, PSH isn't playing a dumb girl for a refreshing change and we know what's going on and what things are leading to (I'm not saying it's perfect, just that it's fun). As for W I beg to differ but I won't go there with you because this is a matter of opinion and not a competition of sorts but I gotta say I've never watched anything like W so I'm kicking and screaming PLUS there's my baby Sukkie doing his average "physical acting" job and being my bias either way. (Which reminds me of School 2013 and how they were great together).
I really don't get why anyone would say this is the best drama they've watched so far (unless it's the only one) when nothing seems to be going on and all it has is a lead male (and I love KWB) yelling at all times, a boring female lead, a great actor as the second lead being framed and limited in a poor character, a confusing storyline (since they don't tell us what happened in the past for sure so JY's love for Eul seems completely random and unfounded - not the mention the lack of chemistry!), an overreacting over the top mother and nothing fun so far. It's just draggy. I'm only not dropping this because I'm desperately hoping it will get better or all those months I've spent waiting and looking forward for this drama will become a bitter burden, alas...
I don't understand your love for this show (so far) but I respect your opinion, fellow drama-watcher and I expect the same here. And I advise you to not take other user's opinions personally because that won't do you any good. ^-^ I know how it feels when people dislike our favorite dramas, I believe everyone does, but it's not worth to argue. People have different taste and that doesn't mean one is wrong or right. Let's just e n j o y ! \o/
I've been ardently anticipating this drama ever since last year and I can't believe how incredibly... boring this is. I'm so disappointed.... seems like they're going nowhere with the storyline and everything is a mess, everything BUT image direction - those scenarios be on spot! Other than that I'm just sighing and hoping things will get better.
Doctors surprised me... I wasn't anticipating it at all but my cousin insisted I should watch it and I'm loving it alright. Also W.... what a great start! And then we have Uncontrollably Fond... scattered all over the place.
But I'm with you, friend! Let's hope those secrets come out crashing everyone and everything on their way! I want to see tears, blood, anguish, anger! Isn't this a melo? Give me real feelings, for Christ's sake!

Slow or fast, I want the show to sell itself to me as a whole.
And P.S.: That's still abnormal.
Hopefully, when things start "blowing" everywhere this will become enjoyable. I don't get any feeling from any character at all and I really do hope his mother has a strong reason to act like a psycho towards him. C'mon. Most mothers defend their sons even after they kill someone and help them hide the bodies but this one is being such a terrible mom just because he dropped college to become a successful star? I hope there's more to justify her strange behavior.
It's been a while since I last watched a drama this thrilling! Feels like I'm on speeeeeeeeeeeeeed!
