I have completely dropped my frustrated expectations that this was an awesome and refreshing drama... after episode 10's clownish display of how to successfully make people understand this nothing is a rom-com in disguise, I expect nothing more than that from Missing 9. Episode 11 was a good laugh after the trauma episode 10 represented to me. Perhaps the writers are attempting to make something new out of mixing genres that don't usually go together??? Like comedy and tragedy, per say. But... well... in the end, we can see why those aren't usually mixed since they don't really go WELL together. At all. A for effort but F for unintelligence.
So from this point on, I'll just watch Missing 9 for the comedy it is or else I won't be able to rate it low enough. In fact, I'm just flipping my eyes from the screen to my sewing projects as I go since nothing that I thought was important really means anything. No point paying close attention then.

When in Rome do as the Romans do... I threw my commonsense away a long time ago, and ep10 and 11, although funny,…
That would be a dream come true and is what I was hoping for ever since episode one or two. But I really doubt that will happen at this point. XD

Looking at the comments, i can already tell that my opinions on the drama wont be agreed with much... but im gonna…
@Kimchi_jjang

I see. I might have done that as well but, like most, I rely on the ratings a lot more (even though I know they're not always accurate as well but, at least, those represent the majority of the opinions). Relying on comments is not a good move. Reviews are the best way to go because you can take a good idea on how the drama develops and if there are straight 10's and also "hater's" reviews that come with no argument at all. I also dislike comments like "Dropping it. It's a waste of time." or "This drama is the worse I've ever seen.". Those carry no reasons at all, just an opinion and the comment area is meant for opinions. The reviews is where you can go for an argument based opinion, you see? The way you put it, it's as if you're telling everyone to never write bad comments about any drama ever because people might not watch it for that reason. Nonetheless, many people might watch the drama after reading positive comments and end up hating it and get angered for wasting their times. I'm not talking about Missing 9 in particular but... for me... Boys over flowers. It's one loved drama I completely despised. But it's so overrated that I forced myself into watching it till the very end until I found out the reason people love it so much and... never found it. It was a huge waste of my time and I get irritated at the mere memory of all that time spent. So your argument is kinda invalid and you see why, right? Everyone is free to comment anything they want in a drama's page. Incoming viewers is who should rely on reviews and ratings maybe instead of reading comments because they're mostly based on opinion. If we're talking about an on going drama, which is the case, they can surf through and read both positive and negative ARGUMENTS (not simple comments) to make up their mind - that's the smart thing to do. But hey, you did watch that drama in the end, right? Not back then, but eventually. What's there to regret? What did you miss out? Not much. I'd rather that happen to me than the opposite. I hardly ever watch on going dramas because I like to wait for people's reaction to it. Like you I have limited time so I need to filter well what I watch, make sure it'll be worth it because dropping a drama is a hard thing for me to do. This time I'm watching quite a few for other reasons like: I started Missing 9 for Chanyeol (but fell in love with everyone/thing else and I don't even miss him on screen), Rebel I'm watching for KyunSang in a lead role, Voice for the lead actors and also because I love psycho thrillers (at least those who are declared to be a psycho thriller lol), My shy boss for leading cast as well and Hwarang because I'm looking forward to it ever since late 2015 when it was first announced (but I'm in hate with it, pushing forward for a few actors as well).
But back to context, you're not any more right than Katy and me and, likewise, we're not any more right than you and anyone else who like Missing 9 to bits and seem to understand all the things we don't. We think you guys are blind and you think we are haters. But that's not true, both ways. I love lots of things about Missing 9 and I hate many other things about it as well. You guys don't seem to spot any flaws or just choose to ignore it as you take whatever they give you - and that's alright. When I'm watching a show without any expectations on it, it's a 10934182370x more enjoyable experience because instead of disappointment, I get surprised. Perhaps that's how you guys who defend the show with a passion feel - and that's great! We're the wrong ones for building up expectations but what can we do? It's unavoidable facing the huge start this show had and that's what you fail to understand, you see? In the end, while we get accused of being haters, it's you who lack comprehension. We have standards and expectations and you don't. We get frustrated and you don't. Isn't that so easy to understand? I know it's offensive to read a bad comment and/or opinion about something we love but there's a huge difference between haters and "deceived" lovers AND we are all different. Nothing pleases everyone and you should be ready for it and people who dislike something also have a right to have an opinion and share it, right? But anyways, my point was made long ago. I got carried away. ^-^'

Oh my God, lady, comment #7 just made my night. lmao XD
But as for #5 (which is the only one I have something to say about since I totally agree with you), from my perspective, that woman who's leading the case (? I never know anyone's name. But Tae Ho. Since he keeps rising back from Hell.) realized it alright and she wanted to play along to evil's CEO's plans because she's dying to close the case. But aren't they stupid?! The rest of them, I mean. For a second I thought even Bong Hee (oh, I remembered!) wouldn't realize the guy was threatened. And isn't rich-teeth guy supposed to be a psychiatrist or anything related to mental health? Because that's what they make believe and yet... he didn't even flinch. He had all that speech defending the girl's memory loss and shit but has no patience for the crazy chubby dude. Such a man.
Not to mention the constant accusation without a single piece of evidence yet they constant claim there's proof and I'm still looking. "Raise your hand if you think Bong Hee is the culprit. There. 2 against one. Lock her up and let's end this." What the hell is that? Joseon?!

Just passing by to show my appreciation for your comment. I really like your arguments and POV - can't say I agree with everything and have to highlight there's a tolerance meter for the lack of logic in dramas and that the poor ugly tasteless girl who manages to get two rich guys on her tail and all that rom-com unbelievable routine doesn't even tick it. Missing 9, however, broke the damn thing.
That's all I'm gonna say. But also, let me second this part:

"Anyone who hasn't started missing 9 yet, dont give it up just because of all the comments saying that its really bad!" (This was really cute btw. XD)

Everyone should see for themselves and reach their own conclusions (which should be a given). I don't even consider the possibily of someone NOT watching something because of a complaint I made... this is strange.

Is this drama really that shitty like everyone is saying? Like a 2/10? Like one of the worst dramas ever?
Seconded. For most part. Thank you for summing up so nicely, BPetra!

@MrBanana I'm one of the people regularly pointing out this show's flaws but it's definitely worth watching. If not for the story itself, watch it for the controversy it's causing. lol Even with everything I say is wrong about this drama, I would still give it a 7.0 at this point. Episode 9 really killed it for me because before that I was to give it an 8.5. But we still have a long way to go... if you can ignore the blatant and offensive nonsense, this show is as good as any other fine thriller.

Title Missing 9 Spoiler
Well I want to say that I don't agree with most of the people here. I still think that it is entertaining…
Well, I can list at least a dozen good arguments on why Missing 9 is such an amateur production disguised as something great but I'm gonna sum it up in the main problem: the writers fucked up pretty bad with that psycho deal. We can ignore all the mambo-jambo taken out of fantasy genres like the miraculous survival of everyone who was "someone" but that was too much.
Although the whole thing is still interesting to most of us (NOT haters but spectators with basic logic standards who also want to be entertained and not offended by a thoughtless plot) get irritated by such inconsistence. The thing is: Missing 9 is nothing but a psycho killer oriented drama. If they ruled out the whole island thing, it would go the same freaking way. So, instead of it being what everyone thought it would be (a survivalist slice-of-life drama), it's just another one about a bad guy getting his way against the stupidity of the good ones until the very freaking end. So why did the plane have to crash? Why did they have to be on an island, for Christ's sake? All of that is meaningless because they don't add up to the main plot. We get angered seeing all that potential gone to waste. If Tae Ho wasn't a psycho but, instead (and rationally) was just fighting his way to grant his survival and cover his tracks... DAMN! THAT would be something new. THAT would be refreshing. But no... every drama the bad guy is wrong in their minds... as if someone can't kill for rational reasons. No... he had to be a nutjob! Ah... I could go on and list all 1001 flaws but I'm sure you already read those a couple times around here. Some people diss the writing but that's far from being the problem. The writing is fine. Production is poor but we can be comprehensive. The main plot is what messed this up.
I can see haters and I can see biased fans. But I'm in the middle ground here, not blinded by one thing or the other. Like you, I was on edge when this show started, I kept biting my nails while waiting for the next episode. The rise was too high, I suppose... and now it's crashing down at full speed ahead. Episode 9 was so ridiculous my guts ached and I'm finally losing my patience with this drama even though - for the same reason people love it (for giving the impression it's different) - I love it. I'm having a real hard time here because I have mixed feelings and I believe that's why we bother going on about a show's flaws in a large comment. Believe it or not, we don't do it to provoke people who think differently. Just as you have your opinion (which is positive), we have ours (which is not and perfectly based btw) and we are all free to share it. What's annoying is this constant tagging everyone who dislikes a show a hater and the “don't like it, then drop it" routine. That's so narrow-minded to say. It's like telling someone to end their 40-year marriage because they complained about their partners mannerisms at a regular basis. It's not that simple, not to us critics. You can ignore the haters and if the drama is good to you, awesome! Come here and tell people why you like it, it's not like this is a campaign to recruit fans & haters anyway. I always see people gathering in opposing sides (like & dislike) like enemies and spewing venom at each other through comments like this. Where is the dialogue?
I don't mean you in particular, hun, I mean everyone, you know? From both "sides". When I think a drama is worthless trash I drop it like it's hot. If I'm still watching it and complaining, there has to be a reason because I don't waste my time with things I don't like. Undeniably so, Missing 9 is entertaining as you said, even with all that's wrong about it. It's well written (imo) and interesting - it keeps us coming back. If you read through it all, you know some of us are divided between love and hate because we have many reasons to hate it but we keep coming back without a clue why. And that's why we're always here complaining. We don't mean to ruin the experience to anybody enjoying it but people just don't know how to disagree, do they? Let's stop taking sides. The haters shouldn't even be acknowledged but those with arguments should be listened. And while you think this show is so great because it's new, I tell you - it's just the same old same. You enjoy it fully because you fell for its trap meant to trick the audience into believing it's fresh when it's just another psycho thriller and - AS THAT - it's a good show indeed. But those of us who are no longer fooled by the mask Missing 9 presented itself with... we get angrier and angrier with each new disappointment although we are just as hooked as you are.
There's no need to feel personally attacked by one divergent opinion, is there? You may love shows I (really) hate, and love others I also love and vice-versa. We really should stop taking sides around here. There's no point in trying to convince each other of their "wrongness". What we like and dislike is definite and we won't change our minds. And by "we", this time I mean ALL of us supposed haters AND lovers.

Why isn't this show in the "fantasy" category.
At this point, I won't be surprised if Tae Ho turns out being a dark unicorn or whatever crap they come up with next week.

when have we ever seen a realistic drama...
For me to call it unbelievable would be the same as roaring and punching it on the face if it had one. XD
You see, the problem is that this drama isn't a fantasy type. It's a slice-of-life of sorts since it's based on reality. So the wrong ones aren't us, the term is just right. The drama is what's all wrong. Apparently not enough for me to drop it though... yet.
