I was doing a rewatch (as you do!) of episode 10 or 11.
People have mentioned that Xie Zheng is less crazy compared to the novel, but when his wifey was almost sold off into the mountains by the other butcher he totally lost it!
If Chang Yu hadn’t woken up . That guy would have died for certain.
They hadn’t even been together that long, but I loved his tears. He was already totally a goner!

If you don’t like the show, watch something else. We are having fun, sorry for you though🙂

Some people don’t understand the use of contrast to highlight the depth of character of main protagonists

A lot of these dramas are just seen as a light way to pass the time. I feel he wants us to actually critically evaluate what we are watching and not just accept everything at face value. Maybe I am over thinking this, but it could be a criticism of how we tend to just accept any information given to us without looking at the source and reason behind it.

The bathtub scene:

One of the difficulties with this scene is that it is filmed with such artistry. The cinematography, the acting and direction are sublime. This makes it difficult to process the deeply disturbing nature of the character’s relationship.
This creates a cognitive dissonance that makes us feel uncomfortable. I feel the director is an absolutely amazing artist

FL is brave, strong, kind and beautiful. It is normal for other men to see her qualities, even if they don’t act on them. This is true in real life too.

Yes, the look of utter despair then hope on Bao,er’s face in that moment when he saw her was incredible for a child so young!
