what do you rate this drama so far on a scale from 0-10
About an 8.5. There are reasons why I like this series - It may not appeal to a lot of people. If you liked Squid Game 1, Hellbound, and others like this, it may appeal to you. It is violet, somewhat funny, and has some romance. I like it very much, just like how I liked "Our Unwritten Seoul." Hard to watch but rewarding. I'm up to ep 11 for tomorrow.
I donโt want to stir the pot but after watching the last episode (44), it is obvious that MS doesnโt love…
You said it well!! I fully agree with her - either they chose the wrong actress or the writer meant it to be that she doesn't love him. If the writer meant it then they should not end up together. As you said, she could me with her BILs. Even her mother might leave her :-)
He was wonderful in the series "When Our Love Blooms," and of course "Yumi Cells." A fine actor who takes his acting seriously. I hope to watch more of his shows.
I'm an older viewer, but I didn't like that plot - completely unnecessary. Why would the writer (s) even bother…
But all that stuff that the writers add in the last episodes sort of ruins the simplicity of this series. It all started well, and the last-minute additions don't add to the series; they subtract instead.
I have a theory, which I would like to share with you all.In the preview, Kwangsook was holding an old photo of…
Interesting theory, Nexe! So you are saying that MIL is Kwangsook's aunt? Still, I think it is rather presumptuous for Kwangsook to ask MIL to pretend to be her daughter.
On the contrary, if Kwangsook is indeed MIL's daughter, only DNA test can prove it.
Kwangsook's request to MIL came out of the blue - unless the next episodes give us more information and that would make it a reasonable request Kwangsook made to MIL.
the latest plot with mother in law and photo and the connection probably .... was so unnecessary in the drama…
I'm an older viewer, but I didn't like that plot - completely unnecessary. Why would the writer (s) even bother with only 10 episodes left? The level of conversation between people in Eagle is minimal, so we don't even understand why the mil lives in the US, or if there are relatives there that could help her. Most of the script comes out of the blue :-)
I loved Unwritten Seoul. Everyone acted their best. Im Chul Soo role as a lawyer was excellent. Highly recommend this series. It's serious, interesting, and it shows that, from a level of despair, with courage and help, one can succeed. Beautifully done.
I just finished Our Unwritten Seoul. I'm not comparing Seoul to Eagle, but the writers of Seoul showed growth in the characters so they could solve their problems.
I don't understand the purpose of what the writer(s) of Eagle have in writing this way. No depth, no serious discussion between the two main leads - just snippets here and there.
Yes, Dongseak told Kwangsook that the mil had changed - that she got angrier and a personality change.
Here's a question: when Kwangsook was insulted before by other people, she strongly stood her ground. Now she is a marshmallow? Why? How can someone be nice to someone rude? It makes no sense. Writer (s) have gone amok.
One can't just fill the remaining 10 or so episodes with trash just to get the job done.
It's not fair to the actors or the viewers. I hope we get some positive changes for the rest of the episodes.
And I wish Mr. and Mrs Tak - enough screen time on them. More screen time on Dongseak and Kwangsook.
I'm mainly watching it for GS/DS - actually for DS, who is adorable!
Where is your review? I don't see any reviews- Let me know where I can find it. It makes sense why you are happy to watch this drama. For me, the ML is the only important person in this series - He stands out, strong, handsome, and direct- no game player. Stay well Florahh and thank you for sharing.
In a way, I feel sort of guilty, but that's the way I feel now. The writer(s) are going way out in space to make points that they don't even know what they are. I wish I could write to the writers. Episode 44 is completely random. Good heavens, FL, the daughter of mil? Come on now. I hope this isn't true. Thanks SylSora - we are not alone. :-)
the captain though his to much on the show he is like jim carey. also the crazy wrestling scenes showing him topless…
He is a bit much, isn't he! If it is the same person we're talking about, wasn't he also in Squid Season 2? And he always seems to get hurt. You mentioned Jim Carey - He liked a lot of attention when he was younger -
Who was the photo of Kwangsook was holding? I have to rewatch it. Well, even if Kwangsook is Mil's biological daughter, that should not be any problem with her marrying ML.
If she is her biological daughter, then do we have another person born where the mother has given up on her child? Let's not be surprised if there are more of these coming along. We now have two instances where a mother has left her child.
The writer (s) have gone bonkers! I just finished watching Our Unwritten Seoul. A genuinely nice series - no makjang, no melodramatic acting, just about people improving themselves despite what has happened to them before.
It could be the reason that the writer/director wanted her to play that trivial role - just keep smiling, and now being a daughter????
We have to wait one whole week to see what that means.
So well said Nexe. Dongseak is so tolerant, and Dongseak just smiles and pretends. They probably should not end up together, but they will. I think Ji Won feels uncomfortable playing that role, but that is just my feelings about it.
I just watched episode 44. What do you think about FL wanting to be like a daughter to the mil? How is the ML going to react? I don't like where this series is going but let's see what happens. I wonder if the mil has any relatives in the US or a husband? This is all too much!
I'm mainly watching it for GS/DS - actually for DS, who is adorable!
Your deceased hubby must have been the best! I'm sorry for your loss. Even looks! I think ML is quite an ideal - yes, he came on strong at the beginning, but when he realized that she was pretty precious to him, he relented. Of course, his negative behavior was mostly caused by Mr. Tak. Now, no one wants a husband like Mr. Tak. He is incredibly indigestible. He doesn't have anything good and everything bad about him.
I hope you had a good life with your spouse - it makes me sad to think about it, but it is good that you explained it, and it was not too personal.
A fine actor who takes his acting seriously. I hope to watch more of his shows.
Articles seem to say that there will be 4 more episodes after the 50.
Even so, we could dedicate the remaining episodes all to DS and MS and forget all the distractions.
However, I like the little romance between Fl's mom and that Eagle's manager. However obnoxious she can be, at least she has guts.
Onward ACGRAD! Let's hope together! No more mil.

You are quite a sleuth, Nexe!

Excuse my rant :-)

Dear me!
