She did die but she died happy. She saw jing become clan leader, married to YY, and had a kid. She died from putting the bug into herself, I guess to live longer, but it backfired. Yea, how long has Jing and YY been engage and they're still not married. That's because she can't force him to marry YY. Then he told his grandmother he already has someone he loves and what did the grandmother do? Nothing... she told him she doesn't care if he marries that person as long as he marries YY first. See the grandmother knew he was courting someone esle and did the contract do anything to help YY? Nope.
