To me I think they meant how the drama is praised so much on social media and when they watched it, it disappointed…
At the end of the day, anyone can choose to watch whatever they want... what matters to me is how these people react to it. If someone decides to watch a recommended drama with the awareness that it may not be his/her cup of tea, personally, I think there is nothing wrong with it. With this mindset, it's easier for them to get over it and not annoy anyone. The problem is that some of these people watch the drama with the certainty that they'll also love it. When this doesn't happen, they are ready to belittle everyone from the actors/actresses to screenwriters, up to the users on this site, and this is the kind of behavior I don't like because they think their opinion is the only valid one! π I'm the first one who loves to chat with everyone and exchange our opinions about why we like or dislike something, but nowadays, it's not a possible thing to do in the comment section of a famous drama like KTL (another example is "My Demon")! π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ Anyway, I'd love also to see Junho and YoonA act together in another drama! π
I came here to gush about how much I'm in love with the pacing of this drama and how effortlessly you sit there…
Sadly, when this drama was airing, things were even worse. Many people complained about this drama, and according to them, if someone had a positive review about it, it was because they were fans of Junho or YoonA. Other possibilities were not even contemplated. π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ I love to write comments on this site to discuss theories or talk about the performances of our favorite actresses and actors... but it is not always enjoyable, thanks to these people. I also don't know why some people here love to use their free time to spread negativity! Anyway, I think that what we can do is ignore them and only talk to people who are willing to have a normal conversation. π
To me I think they meant how the drama is praised so much on social media and when they watched it, it disappointed…
Let me start by writing that starting a drama only because it is praised on social media is the worst thing to do (I tried it myself long ago, with a drama that is so praised even here on MDL since most people think it is a must-watch but it was so childish for me! But hey, lesson learned!). If these people are so easily swayed by ratings or reviews, I can't do anything about it. π€·π»ββοΈ Ratings are subjective. So there is no point in saying: "this drama's rating is too high/ too low" and it's okay if you don't like a drama, no matter what the reason is, but I'd like people to comment on their whys with a constructive criticism instead only complain about the rating and, most of the time, acting like drama queens (you don't have idea of many times I read comments like: "omg, I waste my time")! This is the only thing I'd like some people here to understand, but I'm not feeling very positive about this. π
I'll try to answer some of these questions: π1. It wasn't Dohee who walked away, but Guwon was the one who…
2) Yeah, I agree. I just thought that seeing Guwoon dealing with bad people was better than the desperate but good ones.π 3) yeah, I think you're right. Sadly, writers of romantic fantasy will never put these tropes aside, no matter what the storyline is (they're not my favorite tropes) π 5) It'd have been better if Guwon had been reborn as a human. π 6) Idk, but I don't think the tattoo and his emotions can be connected since they can coexist in Guwon. Another thing I was thinking about is the tattoo gives him simply his powers and doesn't affect his personality, so I don't think it can control Guwon's emotions.
Not necessarily they don't like it per se, but maybe they think it deserves a rating lower than 8.3 and they find…
I don't think so. Most of the time, I found that the ones who write "It's overrated" are the ones who don't like at all a drama. Anyway, I think if someone doesn't like a drama that much has a better explanation than a random hater who comments: "I didn't like it, so it's overrated!!!".
I'd rate this 8/10 because it was exciting to watch all the way but there are so many loopholes!! Leaving all…
I'll try to answer some of these questions: π 1. It wasn't Dohee who walked away, but Guwon was the one who decided to distance himself from her. Yes, she was shocked (and she had every reason to be so, I'd say π) because this was her first time seeing him dealing with someone who didn't want to fulfill the contract. But I think we can agree in saying that: "to know is one thing, but to see it is another". π 2. I honestly still don't understand this situation. God saying "silly humans" but Guwon still behaving as a demon is a bit confusing for me. Anyway, I don't get why Dohee should be uncomfortable! π on the contrary, she should be happy that her husband is making contracts only with such disgusting people. 3. reincarnation and past lives are some of the most common tropes in romantic fantasy, no matter the religion characters believe in. Both will always be present in a fantasy romance drama. 4. I like the answer @precious gives to you 5. What if God only gave him back his demon powers but not immortality?π€ 6. I don't think getting the tattoo back necessarily implies he should behave the same as before towards humans because that would also mean automatically erasing all the relationships he made during the episodes (and basically throwing all of his character development in the bin).
I came back here because I missed this drama and decided to read some of the comments below. It's funny how people write that a drama is overrated just because they don't like it. To this day, I still don't understand what the hell it means, and I'd love to understand the connection between: "I don't like it" and "overrated". π€ Y'all can say this drama is not your cup of tea, and then get over it! π I liked this drama, and I'm okay if you don't like it, but saying this is overrated is crazy! π
Last year, while watching "If You Wish Upon Me", I thought I'd never see a character more irritating than SFL. After seeing Jin Ga Young, I can say that I was wrong. π π€¬
Aren't y'all putting the cart before the horse by writing your judgments about this drama and/or cast before you've even watched the first episode? Let's reserve our opinions and judge only when we have seen it, please! π
Can you name a single Kdrama where the reverse was shown? The ML moved on and dated multiple women&the FL stayed…
I don't know about Cdramas because I don't usually watch them. On the contrary, I've seen a lot of Kdramas where the main leads have a healthy relationship, so I wouldn't talk about a pattern but just some screenwriters who love to write a story with angst and drama. I get what you're trying to say... but I think the main leads have failed as a couple simply because they lacked communication, which led them to mistakes like faking adultery and starting a random relationship. What I appreciate the most in that drama is the ending. Compared to others' dramas, the ending in "Strangers Again" was more realistic and with a natural conclusion to their relationship. Sadly, this is not a common choice in Kdramas (I hate when screenwriters choose the easy way and sugarcoat the ending only to make the audience happy!).
For real! Sometimes, I enjoy the drama without commenting on this site, thanks to this kind of people. I have used this site since 2020 and have never seen so many hate-watchers as this year. π π± Yeah, ignoring this kind of comment is a great strategy! π
I was referring to the ones in the episode who wrote harsh comments about FL and her sisters. In any case, I agree with you: ignoring some comments here on MDL is a good thing to do. πππ»

I just pointed out that you can't simplify "Strangers Again" like you did because the whole drama is more intricate than "ML stays put, FL shags his friend" and by the way, I never wrote or implied that FL doesn't have a brain. I don't remember every single detail of that drama... but I remember that it shows characters as humans with their own strengths and weaknesses. Just remember that no one is perfect, and everyone can make mistakes. Also, the fact that you (me neither, if you want to know my opinion about it) would never kiss your ex-boyfriend's friend doesn't give you the authority to judge others in doing so.

I can't talk about other dramas, but "Strangers Again" doesn't fit that category. I mean, ML even faked adultery to divorce FL and move on with his life (questionable decision, really, but that's another story). It was more her who had difficulty letting their relationship end once and for all. Also, her short relationship with ML's friend happened because ML brought them together.
