exaaactly!!! I love how locked the tension is, but it been high for so long its not diffusing right! even during lighthearted moments they all feel off. the façade and dynamic of FL and Di liren and hui in the same house is just soooooo insane while looking completely normal is also getting to me!!
first episodes, everytime she finds out he been lying/ cheating, she burst into tears/anger, by episode 10 like are you surprised? i love her mini revenges though !! the rats!!!

i havent watched tes, here theres a huge age gap ( a mentee's admiration...) both manipulated in the beginning (fake gf fake bf), when taking a step back i can see why a simple kiss was so loaded for ML here , but he still waited until she was so vulnerable to ask her hand. its not perfect, its more mature in the sense that it's not a romance obsessed story, bc they r work obsessed ! also i just noticed that linling was the mentee of ML but when u look at the actors hired: the actor is younger... had they hired someone who 'looks' older... yikes....

I thought this show was a breakthrough when ML was scared to be outshined by FL! exactly the complex tension we need for this nuanced couple... but instead it stays super platonic, safe, and he pulls a big move only after she cracks and becomes vulnerable!
