not only did they really give us a lot of moments in the long illusion ( some dramas only show 1-2 scenes to show the timelapse) but here we really got to see it! And giving the characters time to process what just happened in a whole episode was worth it !! the separation of episodes is neat!

i remembered the earlier episodes where he already tried to track her with his beads and failed bc he couldn't trace the formless moon sect location. so i'm really excited to see how he'll try this time

for sure after an emotional episode the action is coming

I just caught up with the episodes and i'm hooked!! the illusion arc was truly something!!! so well done!

I still have questions on some elements of the plot and characters! the most confusing for me is Li Jie... but waw this story is really original and i like the twists it has!
the main leads are amazing too!

i already watched it and i'm watching this one. didn't realize ppl would take offense... some roles fit better than others and when we wish for better characterization it's because we are rooting for them and their story.

i also appreciate arthur but for that raw freespirit yet gambling risktaker i would have imagined the lead from the long ballad would have been a better match? or even her last match actor in tortoise Chen Xing xu!! or even the lost you forever tan jian ci! 😭

i haven't read the novel, but i love the rich world of the story!

i also find the tension of the events to be toned down. as if the story is hanging between being theatrical or very mature and subtle and the director can't choose.

the contrast between simu's way of being extremely nuanced and subtle is the best part compared to very theatrical secondary characters... besides simu, only the left hand has left me with great curiosity so far!

he has sooooo much potential and so far his character is really well done... i anticipate that he will stay on track and his jealousy will be overshadowed by the rivalry with the left hand who is obviously planning something huge and probably evil...

'letting go of obsessions' is a very common theme in fantastical cdramas. and the lonely sovereign too is a common trope in stories...
the latest cdrama i've watched that carried a parallel with a powerful main character that needs to understand 'humans' is whispers of fate. the energy of simu reminded a lot of tang lici in that cdrama about discovering the 7 human emotions...
and even till the end of the moon( same main actor that gives ethereal and powerful looks) .

i find lbtg doesnt dive deep enough in the obsessions and is giving us a theatrical perspective. in my opinion only simu and her left hand characters show very nuanced and deep interpretations.

i think they wanted to make it very clear that ha ran actually fell in love with chan in that month of laptop swap... she could not have connected the dots otherwise? if everything was revealed at once, she would really conclude that she was deceived and not separate the moments she spoke with her ex boyfriend and chan...
but maybe she could connect the dots even if she discovered it early in their story...
as frustrating as it was to watch her refusing to listen listen and then she wants to know ... i have to admit the moment that they reunited was truly lovely !!

the way they resumed the whole 11 episodes in the first half of the finale🤣😭😭 we could have watched the first 5 episodes and the finale.... because episode 12 really did a great recap ngl!! but i would have watched all episodes still and more if the show was longer🥹 i really enjoyed the dynamic and the characters journeys together!!

it's frustrating that what really happened was just hidden in a very trivial way.... there's one reason behind that reveal i think i'll put a spoiler tag under!

why keep the arrogance? i think the balance between confidence and arrogance shows well here!
